Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
- What's Included
Meticulously maintained property with gorgeous views and beautiful rooms. What's not to like? Note: Hilton Gold status was a real bonus here, giving free breakfast and bike rentals along with a great room upgrade. We had an issue with the valet parking (keys got locked in the car) and we had to wait up late until the rental company came out to resolve that. To help us, we were given a 4 PM check-out which was a real lifesaver as we were able to have a very relaxing day before heading back home.Front desk service was top-notch (sorry, I forgot your name!) as was the correspondence via text by management to check up on us and see how things were going.
Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort ruined our 1st Anniversary. Booked a King Jr. Suite with Balcony overlooking the beach. We overlooked an empty pile of dirty sand (see pic). Staff was rude. We stated we would be early arrivals, had to wait 5 hours for a room. Housekeeping left dirty towels on the floor without replacing them and left us without toilet paper. Loud noises and partying in the hallways at 3:00 am. The pool was full of rowdy kids. Don't recommend staying there.
I am a gold member of Hilton's loyalty program so I visit a lot of their properties. I have found the service here to be the best of them all. The staff were all very helpful and service oriented. The property is across the street from the beach. The hotel pool is very nice and fun for all ages. The room was spacious and well appointed. This would be a good bet if planning to visit Fort Lauderdale.
Pros:Excellent views (we had 19th floor) of the beach and ocean. Valet parking was efficient and prompt. Kathy (the supervisor) made sure everything ran smoothly, even during busy weekend hours. No waiting around, and it was so nice to just jump in an already cooled-off car.Staff was superb. Attentive, courteous, and friendly. Close to everything you could want. Walk to restaurants, the beach, the park, CVS. I was originally concerned wth crossing A1A every time I wanted to go to the beach. It was no problem at all, no matter the time of day. Cons:Some other guests were a little loud in the hallways and at the pool area. Starbucks on site (yay) but it is not full-service (boo) It costs about twice as much as a free-standing Starbucks.
Visited Ft. Lauderdale for the first time in April, for a relaxing solo getaway. I chose the Hilton because I'm a Diamond member, and prefer the Hilton chain. I've stayed at many across the country, and although this wasn't my favorite location, it was hands down the best service I've ever received from hotel staff. Everyone, from the front desk to restaurants and housekeeping, were pleasant, welcoming, and happy to ensure you have the best stay possible. Tahina in housekeeping deserves extra recognition! I asked for a new hair dryer (it was super old and actually shocked me while in use - the plastic seams were coming apart on handle), laundry bag, and a robe. She brought up one thing, but not the other two due to miscommunication, then ran back down to get the other 2 items. She was one of the nicest people I met during my entire stay. The host in the breakfast restaurant (I can't remember his name) took the time to chat with me, and then told each server about me every morning following... :)Regarding the hotel itself - I was upgraded to a beautiful suite with terrace. It was large, and clean. The terrace faced an empty lot (and the Atlantic Ocean) that is going to be filled with condos. I ate in both restaurants, and they were great. The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious! Try the mahi burger if they have it at the beachfront restaurant. The only hotel disappointment was the spa. You have to go into the gym to get to it, and once you're inside, it's tiny! There is no spa atmosphere at all. There's a couple of massage rooms and that's it. You can also choose to have a massage outdoors in a cabana. The pool was insanely crowded. I was disappointed by that. Never even went in. I believe it was a spring break week for families, as the pool was filled with kids. The beach was nicely kept, with plenty of chairs and umbrellas (you have to rent umbrella). The downside to the beach is that there are constantly fuel tankers parked out in the ocean, and it kind of takes away from what should be a gorgeous ocean view. Also, it was super windy the entire 5 days I was there. Not sure what the typical East Coast FL weather is in April...Overall I had a great stay. Top notch service every day!
