Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort
- What's Included
We decided that we wanted to get married on the beach and what better beach than Ft. Lauderdale. Other than slow internet and having to wait a bit for the elevator (thanks to flooding from hurricane Irma) we had a delightful time. The food, service, amenities, and location were wonderful. We had a suite on the top floor which gave us an amazing view of the beach. We were made to feel like celebrities, complimentary dessert, champagne in the room. We have nothing negative to say and will be back for our anniversary !
Excellent location. Excellent Room. Excellent Service! The elevators were a bit slow but we loved the pool. Loved the bikes. Loved the room. Loved the convenience of easy beach access. Check out the rooftop sofas overlooking the ocean and all the action. This was a very relaxing vacation!
ProsThe staff is beyond words for being accommodating, helpful and nice. This hotel is gorgeous, the pool area (6th floor) has amazing views of the ocean. The beach is right across the street, easy to get to.They give you chits for free drinks when you arrive. They have extended Happy Hour. The WIFI is fast and the big HD TV has several HBO channels, always something good to watch.Free USA Today. All the food and drinks are gourmet delicious. Two hot tubs with ocean views while soaking.ConsThe tub water has a green tint. All tap water in Ft Lauderdale has the tint. They give you two free bottled waters per day, but you have to go to the 1st floor store to get them. They no longer put cushions on their chaise lounges.Beach umbrellas cost $20.Both the clock and fridge in the room weren't working when we arrived, although both were quickly fixed.$30 resort fee per day which every hotel is charging.TipsWe upgraded from a studio room to a suite which is twice the size for a few bucks more. Well worth it. Be sure you're a Hilton's member to save money,It cost more per day for a 3 day reservation than 2 days and 1 day, same days. We made 2 separate reservations to save money. We did not rent a car. Uber was cheap and always there within a few minutes. The best excursion was the Jungle Queen- a boat trip past fancy homes that included a stop on an island for a tasty all-you-can-eat meal of ribs, shrimp and chicken and an entertaining one hour show.
We have just retuned from a 7 night stay at this wonderful hotel. From check in to check out we enjoyed every moment. On arrival we were made aware of a room upgrade which was a Ocean front suite on the 22nd floor. The receptionist assured me that we would like it,well we were blown away what a suite and what a view.We could not have wished for a better room. The suite had more than we could have wished for,Fridge freezer, full oven,Micro wave,Dish washer, and finally the coffee percolator.Well with all this available we only used the coffee percolator,as we always eat out on holiday. The location of this Hotel is right on the Beach front, there is a road to cross to reach it but there are safe crossings that you use.It also has a large swimming pool, and plenty off sun loungers you can use. Some of the areas by the pool have a charge to sit or sunbath there but you do not have to use these areas. You can also use the Hiltons sun beds which are located on the beach at the front of the hotel, these are included in you beach resort fee.We ate at the hotel restaurant which we enjoyed very much, great food, great presentation. Both on the breakfasts and dinner. The room service was spot on lovely well presented food. The view from this suite was really amazing as it had a wrap around balcony with chairs and a table to use,i could have stayed quite happily in it all week and not have ventured out, just a pure chilled out holiday. On the other hand you could do as much as you like with plenty of places to see and go.Some people who deserve a special mention .The check in receptionist,so sorry did not get your name.Marcel on réception who dealt quickly and professional with any problems.Mark the waiter in the restaurant great at explaining any of the food dishes. Also Christina who provided our in room dining service. The waitresses who showed us around the breakfast menu,Bar staff, and last but not least the room porters one of whom is a great fan of the Rolling Stones. Some of the things not up to standard.Only 2 of the 4 lifts were in service due to the damage caused by Hurricane Irma.this just meant waiting for a lift a bit longer, but us Brits are used to that and it did not spoil our stay.No cutlery or plates in the suite,i think these were supplied if requestedBut overall we had a fantastic week there, and would definitely return.
Returned here after around a year or so. Stayed here for 2 nights in a king suite.Check in was smooth, and the guy on check in was great, did not get his name, grey suit, glasses.Suite was clean, and very very spacious. Could quite easily live in it lol.Great view slightly side on over the ocean,Breakfast buffet is superb with great choice. The first night I dined on site at ilios, and had a steak. My initial plan was then to dine the following evening at 3030 Ocean, however the food was so good, I dined the following evening in the hotel too.I already had 2 rooms booked for April 2018 and looking forward to the return, maybe even earlier.
