Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina

If this was a 2 star hotel with a price at $50 a night this would have been the category I would have put this into. The area is nice the staff are excellent and polite as can be from the bell boys to the front desk to the maids I passed in the hall way. But... for paying 200+ a night for a room you have to got to do better. There is 3 elevators in the hotel to use and 2 of them was broken so this left one elevator to take guest up and down a 13 story building which you could imagine was a little bit of a mess. It had my wife so flustered she didn't want to leave the room once we got to our room the second time. How ever the next day the second elevator was fixed and working again in the afternoon when we came in. I was talking to another guest and they said they have been here many times since 2012 and the 3rd elevator has never worked. I also noticed one of the door ways to go outside was taped up with yellow caution tape which to me looks tacky and ghetto. The grounds of the hotel was nice and kept and the rooms didn't feel dirty but they are definitely out dated. I feel they make enough from this hotel that they need make it more appealing to the eye and current. Also checking in we was booked for a king bed and assumed that there was some sort of sofa in the roo. Like most hotels of this caliber and they informed us that there wasn't and was just a bed. So we tired to get a room with 2 queen beds and they informedIs their rooms with 2 beds had 2 doubles which being almost 6'3" and a adult this was Linda of in comfortable for me to sleep with my wife. So we had to sleep separate to be some what comfrotable. And on top of this they charged us 30 more a night to be in comfortable. The parking was outrageous at 25-30 a night . I understand we are in ft lauderdale but come on at least if your going to charge that makeMe feel like it's worth it. Over all I'm not impressed with this hotel and we cancelled out reservation for the day after we came back from our cruise and decided to stay at anothe hotel instead. There are some good aspects of the hotel like the staff and the grounds and the pool bar but none of this is worth it to me for the price of the hotel with the condition of the hotel. Very disappointed with the Hilton on this one and they usually hit it out of the park! You can find better accommodation all around the area for equal or less money and that is what we will do next time.
This was the 3rd time that we have stayed at the Hilton Marina pre-cruise but didn't enjoy it quite as much for a couple of reasons. This time we had a bridge view room overlooking Port Everglades and we found that there was quite a bit of traffic noise and the walls seemed a lot thinner than the pool and waterway rooms we had enjoyed previously.Since it was raining during our stay, we realized how isolated this hotel really is. It's a long walk to the nearest restaurants on 17th Street. Due to the weather, the very nice pool bar/grill was not available which left the expensive Nanking Asian Grill and the lobby coffee bar Antea with it's very limited menu.We will still consider this property for our next visit especially if we get a good Hilton Honors rate but will be shopping around too.
Very clean and everything you need is there. Close to the cruise port and airport. We have stayed here for the last 6 cruises we have taken and we have never had a complaint. The food, service and pool are fantastic. Very happy and friendly staff. We will be there next year.
Spent 5 nights before a Panam Canal Cruise.Lovely convenient location at the Marina. Not far from the airport.Very near stop 6 on the Water Taxi route.Hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach which is lovely.A good selection of restaurants close by within easy walk.Thought about hiring a car but the 25 US / day made us decide not to .No need as we got a hotel pick up for an Everglades tour and the location did not require one.Room clean and spacious overlooking Marina.Staff particularly concierge very helpful.Good choice for pre cruise stay.
It was a really nice stay at this property. The good thing, this is located near the Airport and cruise port. They also provide 24 hours shuttle pickup from Airport. The rooms are really nice and cozy, pretty much impressed. The breakfast was also nice. Overall enjoyed the stay at this hotel.
