Hollywood Beach Resort Cruise Port

Me and my friend stayed here before our cruise and it was great! it was a clean and nice hotel. Perfect for what we were doing. They have a shuttle service which is $5 per person to go to the ships. I did not know that this would be the way it was and it was about 20 minutes late but at no fault to the hotel but just a warning.
Outstanding experience at this hotel. They recognized my Platinum Marriott status and upgraded us into a Junior Suite. Great room, plenty of sitting area space too. The location of this hotel is outstanding. Directly across the street from a Walgreens if you need any last minute supplies. Cruise port is directly in front of you and you can see the ships in their port. In the lobby they have a great bar and restaurant if you don't feel like venturing out for a bite or drink.
I booked this hotel for its pre cruise location. There are many stores and restaurants within walking distance. I recommend the Boatyard Restaurant across the parking lot for seafood and a great view of the intercoastal. We arrived before Noon and were accommodated immediately by a very friendly staff. The hotel has a nice restaurant for breakfast and lunch and a coffee shop that turns into a bar in the afternoon. I ordered a van to the pier that was full on arrival. The staff person kindly refunded our fee and we hailed a taxi for half the amount we were originally charged. The room was very quiet and clean. I would definitely stay here again.
The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port Hotel is a great location pre or post cruise. You'll likely be able to see the ships from your room. The rooms are typical marriott rooms in terms of decor and size. We had free breakfast and snacks in the concierge lounge for our status level. This hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants and shops including a Walgreens right across the street. An Uber to the cruise port from the hotel was about $5. If you're sailing on the Regal Princess that docks at the first spot, you could easily walk from the hotel to the ship, It wouldn't walk it to any of other piers.
This hotel was booked for me as part of a group booking so hard for me to criticise too much as I wasn't sure what to expect. The rooms seems to be well looked after although come across very corporate, comfortable beds. The view is what is is, not much to see as your either looking towards the sea or towards a parking lot. One day our room didn't get cleaned, this may have been a brake down of communication in both sides, I got a knock on the door to see if I require anything at 10 am, I said no but thought we would get a further room check later on in the day.I went for lunch on my last day at midday, ordered the food and then was told no alcohol until 1330, this really needs to be looked into especially when you have quests from all over the world. The staff are very approachable and professional but it lacked the action to back it all up.I feel for the price it may be worth looking at the Hilton Marina. I know another corporate brand but it seems much better value for money all round.
