We stayed one night prior to a cruise and checked in on line making our trip to the front desk quick. Sam was great at check-in. Mirjan Vehbiu was super at breakfast and keep the presentation of food on the breakfast buffet plentiful and our server Rafael was so efficient and Friendly. We would stay here again prior to a cruise as shopping for last minute needs are an easy walk from the hotel and they offer shuttle service to the cruise port 6$ per person.
Kudos to the Renaissance Hotel ! A most welcoming oasis before the next leg of our journey. We arrived early morning (8:30) from a previous cruise out of Miami fully expecting to check bags and wait for our room. Not so! Debra welcomed us warmly and handed us our key to a beautiful room with an view of the sea. She even offered us breakfast....Speaking of breakfast ...it was a full breakfast buffet ....eggs, sausage, potatoes, lots of fresh fruit and yogurts, breads muffins bagels and great coffee for this coffee snob. Mirjan Vehbiu, the Food and Beverage Manager, was most welcoming and made sure we were satisfied. Thank you for your hospitalityBottom line...great hotel for cruisers...good location, beautifully appointed lobby with coffee bar and bistro...but most importantly...delightful gracious staff. See you next fall!
I have stayed here a number of times on business and it is my go to hotel in the area. It is a nice conveniently located hotel with easy access to the highway and airport and any number of restaurants. I have always found it to be exceptionally well run with great management and very friendly employees who are always ready to help. Last week there were numerous flight problems resulting from storms and the team there did a superb job accommodating me and a number of other guests with travel problems. A special thanks to the general manager bill ripple for springing into action on this. That is definitely not something I will forget! I look forward to staying here again soon.
Just got off a flight in Miami International from St. Marrteen and had to stay over at this hotel for business reasons. The hotelis nice and convenient to the cruise ships. The bar was modern, four or so TV's and we had a night cap before going to bed. The crab cake appetizer with a side of fries was flavorful, and I had the fried grouper tacos which was good, three to an order, full size, good flavor. Decent prices for hotel food. A couple of glasses of Landmark Chardonnay and a bud light washed down our meal. The room is nice, clean, and modern with a great view looking west from the 12 floor. Showers had good pressure, clean comfy beds and we were down the hall from the lounge. But the lounge was another story. Got up late and headed to the lounge at 9:30 am where we saw a full house of diners, full stack of dirty dishes, no napkins, silverware, bagels. Kids walking around aimlessly. I guess the person working there was overwhelmed with spring breakers and Easter Vacationers. We stay at other Renaissance Hotels all over the country and the lounges were always kept up. Business hotels verses cruise hotels are different in many ways. We will be back. Will not let the lounge determine our stay!!!Happy Easter!!! Enjoy!!!
Our Star Vista host cruise picked the Renaissance for thier host hotel. This was great although the great room rate was only good for 1 night. We stayed 2 nights so as to be at the port area just in case of flight delays or weather. We had to make 2 seperate reservations, at 2 different rates and rooms. Luckly we got to stay in the same room which at check in was not gaurenteed, we had to recheck at the front desk the 2nd day to keep our room. You would think that the special rate would be availble for more that 1 night. The staff at the front desk upon check in was "kink of friendly" at our 9:30 pm check in. We were told that at 9:30 each night the room key machine updates and that our keys may or may not work. But just come back down if they don't work. They worked but it seemed strange. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a great selection but on the exspensive side. Service was superb here.A special thanks to the hotel for being a Star Vista Cruise sponsor and having the live music for our group the night before our cruise. Nice pool area!
