Hyatt Regency Pier 66
- What's Included
We stayed in an outside room with a view over the coastal waterway. It is true that the room is in need of renovation and was quite drab but the bed was very comfortable. The poolside area was lovely and the pool itself well heated and a pleasure to swim in. We also had problems with the key cards not working but staff were helpful and the issues were always quickly resolved. The only downside was discovering that the hotel charged $25 for parking daily. Had we known that we would definitely have booked elsewhere. Fortunately we found somewhere else to park!! Staff were friendly and helpful and the Pelican Landing was a delightful place to eat as the sun went down. The Grill was also excellent but very pricey. Housekeeping was a bit erratic and the room wasn't serviced to the standards we expect in Europe. Overall, despite the problems it was a very pleasant place to spend time in and we would return.
Very little interaction with front desk. Service staff is very friendly. Room was large and clean. Shower was hot with high volume. Bed was comfortable. Only two issues:1. Office chair was stuck in lowest position making it too low for me so work at desk2. Vending machine screwed me out of $3Walk to public beach was about 20 minutes for me. Few local choices for dining. Hyatt meals were very good.
We have stayed here at the Hyatt Regency, Pier 66, Ft Lauderdale, Fl. before always a pleasure. Luis, at guest reservations was exceptional. We returned from a 14 night cruise on Celebrity. It was great to spend time at Pier 66.
I loved the location, the pool area and exercise room were very nice and there were a lot of activities going on which kept everyone entertained. The room was updated and extremely spacious which we appreciated considering there were four of us in one room. Because the hotel was older (this is evident by the outside appearance) the noise outside of our room was very annoying. We did not stay in the tower (which we will be sure to do next time) and we paid for it! We were woken up several times a night on almost every night due to people walking around, laughing, fighting...this part of the stay was a nightmare! Overall, the good weighed out the bad and we would certainly go back....but it will be the tower for sure.
We booked this hotel as we were leaving for a cruise the next day. What we did not know was that we would not be staying in the tower; they gave us a room on the ground floor (motel type). Although the room was clean, we expected to have a view of the intracoastal. I would not have paid $180US for that type of room (no breakfast included +$40 US) to be set up by a staircase for our 16th wedding anniversary ☹️
