Hyatt Regency Pier 66
- What's Included
I officiated a wedding and everything was just perfect. The ceremony was held in the grounds with the reception held in a revolving room. The staff, the amenities and the venue were all exceptional.Would recommend this venue for a wedding.
I ordered room service. The service was quick. However, the server kept calling me back asking for payment. I called the lobby over 3 times asking them to charge my card. The lobby told me not to worry. I continued to receive calls from the server. I called the lobby again and they said that the server will not call me anymore. A few minutes later there was a knock on my door. It was the server again. He asked me to write down my name and credit card information on a blank piece of paper that he brought with him along with a pen. I returned my meal to him and I told him that I was not going to give him my credit card number, to please check with the lobby. I called the lobby and told them that if this continued that I was going to have to leave the hotel. Finally, after about 8 calls and a visit from the server demanding my credit card I was finally left to rest. I had a very early flight and I am very disappointed with the way this situation was handled. By the way... Can you believe that when I saw my bill I was charged $37 for a chicken breast and french fries! After speaking again with the desk supervisor the charge was removed. Unbelievable!
Pier 66 is a wonderful hotel at the Marina in Ft. Lauderdale. Thank you to Jamie at the Front Desk for our beautiful room. We ate at the Pelican Restaurant which is on property. Had a delicious dinner and great cocktails with an awesome sunset view. Thanks to Benjamin Dunn, restaurant manager, for stopping by to say hello. Plan on staying here again when our travels take us back to Ft. Lauderdale.
I attended a large private event this past week and found the property to be lacking in several areas. The event took place in the large ballroom on the lobby level of the property. The networking area (pre-event) was probably between 90 and 100°. Needless to say most of the event guests were complaining. Probably not the best way to kick off the high profile event. I should have prefaced this entry by saying this venue has been in the same condition and has had no air-conditioning in that area for over a decade but for some reason (probably because the venue is free or provides a hefty discount with a large catering purchase) not-for-profits continue to host events here. So it should be noted you have some negotiation power here as long as you can stomach angry guests. There is also a considerable amount of construction going on currently, with a major project to begin next year. If you do plan to have an event here you should alert your guests of the construction as self-parkers may encounter debris including nails and metal objects.
Best part of the hotel is the pool area. My server Jaime was great, He did not stop going the whole time I was poolside. Good food as well! Hotel is close to the beach and downtown as well. Don't think I paid more than $16 for an uber. Will stay at location again.
