Il Lugano Suite Hotel
- What's Included
I've stayed here 3 or 4 times over the years and have had excellent experiences each time. The staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious and some include kitchenettes, and breakfast is pretty decent. I have one major complaint and it's this - the hotel pumps some kind of awful and strong-smelling perfume scent into the lobby. The second you walk in it hits you and it's no wonder a bunch of people are sneezing in the lobby. I really wish they'd stop scenting the lobby - rather than enhancing the hotel's appeal, it diminishes it right from the moment you walk in the door.
The price for this hotel is too much for the location and the fact that it is a Residence in. The lobby is pretty, but does not carry over to the rooms. Skip the ocean view and go for a room overlooking the intracoastal. The ocean view feels like you are mostly looking at the street because it's a bit far away. The staff was very nice and the outdoor spaces are great. Skip the eggs at breakfast; as with all Marriott 'buffet' breakfasts they are super watery and gross! The exercise room is barely adequate with two treadmills that are noisy, an elliptical and some free weights.
My boyfriend and I stayed here in a one bedroom king suite overlooking the Intracoastal for two nights in January of 2017 because it was close to a beer festival that we were attending. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a must for us because we take my little senior gremlin looking dog with us when we go out of town. The hotel is lovely. I think it may have housed condos at one time because the rooms felt more like a condo than the typical hotel room. Pantry, washer and dryer, huge walk in closet, decent sized bathroom and a huge waterfront balcony were great features of the room. Parking is valet only but kudos for the valet guys for knowing how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. If you don't want to valet park, you may park in the metered parking lot across from the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars but has an on-site restaurant. We didn't eat at the on-site restaurant but took advantage of the free breakfast in the morning.Overall, we had an excellent stay and would stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. It's the best Residence Inn I've ever stayed in!
From top Mgmt GM David Fernandez to Director of Sales and marketing Arelis Abatte to F&B mgr Kristina Peterson to Chef Mark Confessore our National Sales meeting was taken care of in the manner we are accustom to. Being a 30 year veteran in the Customer Service industry my hats off to these folks on taking care of guests one at a time and as a group ***** 5 Stars employees and property
This was by far the best hotel stay of the year. The staff were the friendliest I have ever seen. The room was absolutely spacious and the views were pretty awesome. If there was a knock for the hotel it would be due to things outside the control of the hotel so not really even worth mentioning.
