came down again this year for my birthday ( seem to be starting a trend lol ) 6 people 2 rooms and once again we were able to get into the rooms at 5:30 am as there was 2 available... even though check in isn't till 3pm Ocean Sky does try to accommodate when they can, not like other places were it's just 3pm period, I really like they try to work with you ... 1st room had a leaky ac unit .. carpet was wet and smelly .. they change us to a different room right away no problem ... i think some of the bad reviews are the patrons not staff problems , the way some people talk to staff it's no wonder staff push back .. you get more bees with honey as they say .. hotel is older but clean and looked after ... intercity taxi is cheap to get to and from airport ... $ 18 a day to park if we had drove would tick me off but it states it on the website so it shouldn't be a surprise .. if it is you should have read closer , I try to cover everything when staying at a new place to avoid upset when you're supposed to be on vacation .. long and short of it is Ocean Sky has a nice beach and awesome pool with restaurants anywhere from 5 to 15 min walk so go enjoy leave negativity at home and you'll have a good time
We booked last minute on Priceline after a delayed flight. From the moment we arrived the attitude of the valet and reception staff was unfriendly/hostile. We parked prior to the valet area but they insisted on taking our keys before we even checked in. Herman on reception didn't even look up, let alone smile, when we arrived. He told us there was an $18 charge for parking, whether or not we used the valet service. We did not know this prior to our arrival. We asked if we might be able to get a room with a nice view and his reply was "We've got what we've got". We went back to get our bags from the car and it was gone. The valet staff had moved it without our permission. At this stage we decided enough was enough and told Herman we would not be staying and wanted a refund. He said we'd have to get a refund through Priceline and in fairness Priceline did refund us on our second attempt, having first said we didn't complain during our stay!!The only other guest we saw at the hotel was also complaining to Herman about the parking charge. Having read the other reviews on here, and the very defensive responses, we're even more relieved we decided not to stay. We'd give zero stars if we could.
I tried to put zero stars, but I couldn't submit with at least one. Not a good experience. We booked directly through hotel, not a travel site and we still had an awful room. This place needs a remodel bad. The water in the bathroom sink would never turn all the way off. We had to ask for wash clothes the first night. We received 2. Then they were not replaced the 2nd day or 3rd day and we asked 2x each day. Then on the last morning we had to go out and ask housekeeping for some and she acted like we wanted her first born child. And our room wasn't cleaned until around 4:00 each day even though we were gone each day by 10:30. The pool was great. Best part of hotel.
The only reason I'm giving this a 2 is because of the beachfront location, otherwise a 0 would do!!Upon checking in, the woman who was working there was extremely rude rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing simply because I was apparently in the wrong line up! I called her out on it and told her to drop her attitude!!The room was damp, the water in the toilet was yellow at all times and my clothing had a mildew smell from that room!!The location was quite nice but as a traveler to Florida several times a year, I will NEVER stay here again!! Learn some customer service skills and clean up the disgusting smell in your dirty hotel!
Arrived at the hotel, and had to wait 10 minutes because the slow and extremely disinterested desk clerk was too preoccupied with other things to promptly check me in. When I arrived in my room it was dilapidated - dinginess that you would expect from a "short-time" hotel - a concept which came to mind after being propositioned by a Russian hooker by the elevator bank.
