Half finished building

I have never stayed in a hotel in the US with such a third world approach to refurbishment. The wing is still under construction while renting rooms. The hall floor is stained and dirty. The hallway has exposed wires in junction boxes. The building faced parking lot. A real bait and switch by the postcard Inn!

I did not plan to do a review of this property, because it is not going to be kind. I spent a good deal of time filling out their own review with much detail regarding the issues. When I received a canned response encouraging me to write a review I decided that they were not interested in learning what their customers experience so I decided to provide some detail on our experience First let me say I was in Florida at their facility to be a part of a wedding. I had several rooms for multiple days and the facility is not cheap. My issues started with making a reservation. It was difficult to find anyone that could help us and was knowledgeable about any special rates we were told by the bride where available for wedding quests. Each time we called it seemed that there was a different answer. Could we have an ocean front or was the rate only for rooms with no view. We ended up with no view, but once we got to the prosperity many of the quests did get ocean view. Prior to our arrival we decided we wanted to come in a day early. When my wife called and made the request she was told all their rooms were booked. I was curious about all the rooms being booked so I went on line to check availability and there were plenty of rooms. I decided to call back and ask again for an earlier arrival based on the fact their web site showed rooms. This time I was put on hold. Eventually I was told we could have a room. I asked why the confusion, but was never offered an explanation. The only thing I could think of is they did not want to give us the wedding rate for the extra day. The facility was created from a number of older properties that have been nicely remodeled. The grounds are well kept and have everything you could want at a resort in the keys. The service and food at the wedding reception was outstanding. It was so different than what we saw elsewhere My primary issue was the service and the attitude of the employees at the bars and restaurants. First they never seemed to have enough help. Food and alcohol sales could be doubled if service could be average. I will say some of the employees were nice and trying while others should find a new line of work. I want to provide several examples. In the review I did for the facility I included names which I will not do here. My favorite was a bartender at the tiki bar. We waited a good while while she walked by us several times. When she did stop she explained there was a limited menu because of the concert scheduled for later in the day. My wife decided on a salad with a key lime dressing. When it arrived she did not like the dressing. When we were able to get her attention we asked for blue cheese dressing. The bartender told us she would need to go all the way to the kitchen to get the dressing. We said ok. When my wife realized after a few minutes our server was not going to the kitchen or make the request via computer she decided to eat the salad with no dressing. When our server saw this she came back to us and opened a small refrigerator that was only two steps from our stools and gave her the blue cheese dressing. I was so impressed by that performance I started listening to our bartender's conversations with other customers. The best one was a lady that requested a beer and three ice waters. The bartender told the lady that she could get all the water she wanted from a big thermos. At the prices this facility charges it would seem to me to be reasonable to provide a customer ice in a cup of water if they request. On another occasion at the same bar we had 10 for lunch. We found out we had to go to the bar to place our orders, they did not wait on the tables beside the bar. It took almost three hours for everyone to get the correct food. The last person only got his food when I stopped the runner to ask her to check. His order was left of the first ticket and I believe since it was just one hot dog was delivered to the wrong person when it came out while we waited. Later I watched while other customers received table service. It would seem to me at the prices charged table service would be reasonable We had breakfast at the seafood restaurant. The first person we saw asked us about drinks so we ordered. After a while with no drinks came and another person came by. We mentioned we had placed an order and they said ok. Still no drinks so we stopped another person who told us the first person did not take drink orders. I will say the food was good, but very slow. Unfortunately many of the staff need to spend some time a Chick fil A to learn about how to treat a customer. Good management could turn this place into something amazing. I hope things change

Easter Break In The Keys

Palm trees, sun, sand, all the best views offered at the PCI! There's lots to do for families, such as taking a dip in the pool, jet skiing through the mangroves, exploring the ocean, or even playing fun games. When here, I played giant Jenga, beanbag toss, and went down to the Tiki Bar game area to play Shuffle Board! If our break was longer, we would have had fun kayaking and paddle boarding, which is complimentary with your stay. If you go down to the Tiki Bar, you can play games such as pool and foosball. Here at the resort, the three restaurants to dine at are the Ciao Hound, Tiki Bar, and the Raw Bar. The Ciao Hound is a laid back Italian restaurant whose other specialties are seafood and the friendly atmosphere, which is apparent in all the restaurants. (We also LOVED the lobster ravioli!) Meanwhile, the Tiki Bar offers great food for everyone, and relaxation for parents while the kids play games at the Tiki Bar game area. The Raw Bar gives you an amazing view of the ocean with even better food. Anyway, we rented fishing poles and went fishing down at the end of the docks. We caught a few snappers and threw them back. It was tons of fun! We saw lots of wildlife such as cormorants, a nurse shark, lots of pelicans and seagulls, parrot fish, an iguana sunning itself, geckos, and we were really lucky, and saw manatees! All in all, this vacation was amazing!

Fun Place

Stopped here for a few nights with friends and drove to Key West for the day. It was a reasonable drive to visit Key West for the day and an early morning sunrise drive is breathtaking. Some rooms are right in the beach as you step out the door onto a little patio, the beach sand is 10 feet away. Real pretty setting. The rooms are average, clean and the price is reasonable. One in the party was handicapped and a man from the hotel drove him in a golf cart to a lounge chair on the beach and then to the pool later. That was a nice touch. Good place to stay and relax.

great stay

Great spot, lots to do, beautiful beach, overall we could not have been more pleased with our visit. The folks at the front desk were very helpful in directing us on dining and things to see while in the area. I am looking forward to returning.
