W Fort Lauderdale
- What's Included
The W is not the type of hotel I would normally choose - it's modern design and 5th-floor pool areas aren't things I look for in a resort property. However, the service here is unreal. It started with our check-in experience with Nich (Neesh) who was very personable and helpful both at the initial check-in, and each time we simply passed the check-in counter. Further, EVERYONE at the hotel greets you with a smile and is very helpful. The location is ideal for a day at the beach or to walk up and down A1A for dining or shopping. Beach service was also exceptional! I am a frequent traveler for work and stay almost exclusively at Marriott properties. After this experience I need to seriously consider W hotels. Considering the service, I would stay here again.
Spent my 50th birthday weekend and it was fabulous. This is like a Las Vegas hotel from the bar called living room to the pool area with a live DJ. The gym is very nice and very nice staff. The restaurant steak 954 is amazing check it out if you stay. Views are incredible and all the recent upgrades even the carpet is modern and colorful.
Cashed in an award night for a romantic night on the beach. The hotel entrance is currently under construction creating a congested drive in, and self parking isn't obvious so you have to pay the valet, or go back into the traffic jam to find it. But the valet was nice upon departure, rushing to getting us some bottles of water. Again the hotel was packed that weekend so if you're counting on a better room cause of platinum SPG status, not happening. The room itself was very nice, and the window between the shower and bedroom is a fun feature. The bed was way to soft and felt like a cheap foam mattress. The single serve coffee machine was beautiful, but they forgot mugs for the room. Breakfast in the restaurant was good. Overall a nice property with decent service but a lack of attention to details.
The W Fort Lauderdale was sensational in every way. The staff was welcoming from the valets to the front desk to the concierge. The room was spectacular. The food - in the restaurant and via room service - was terrific. And the pool was a perfect respite from the winter months up north, with great music and drink service. Most notably - several employees went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure my stay was memorable - including Shachar Pjnchas, Dervin Webb, and Bruna Carvalho. My next trip to Fort Lauderdale will absolutely include a stay at the W!
I'm not usually a fan of W hotels as they tend to be a bit ' fashion over function' . However we booked in here in an emergency situation and were agreeably surprised.Good welcome and check in and a nice room @ $550 which was pushing it a bit but it's boat show / valentines week.Clean, efficient, space, nice breakfast, fabulously efficient check out and super valet parkers. I'm not sure why they 'top up' the bill with a $25 'resort fee' but that seems all over these days. So we enjoyed the W and will probably return soon!
