Ala Moana Hotel
- What's Included
We live part of the year in Kona, and like to come over to Oahu for a change. We have stayed at the Ala Moana twice this year. This is a large hotel, with 36 floors affording great views of the ocean. It is also located adjacent to the Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is quite convenient. There is a beautiful harbor, large park and beach within walking distance. This hotel is under new ownership, and the rooms have been fairly recently renovated. We believe the rooms to be nice, although there is a bit of noise from adjoining rooms and hallway traffic. We opted for a larger suite at the end of the hallway, and it was terrific! The pool needs some updating, but is quite adequate for families. And the gym is large and nice. There is a beautiful new Starbucks off the large lobby which is quite convenient too. We just rode bikes around Waikiki, and then caught an Uber to get back to the hotel. Obviously, we would stay here again.
the hotel is very good located , have all the things you need near by, transportation, eating, shopping, the beds were very comfortable and that was very important , were tired and need a good rest for continuing our vacation, the staff was frienljy, they have storage luggage room, starbuucks coffe inside the hotel, a little convenience store with all u can need and more, they even have a hospitality room, that we were aloud to use at 6 pm the day we were leaving no charge at all, for taking a shower
When we arrived at the hotel nothing like expect of course had a harder time with the show cause the knob couldn’t turn on the water, we had a kitchen yet the pots n pans was locked up like they tried to treat use like common thieves, I know I’m from Hawaii don’t mean to be treated that way. I paid almost $600 dollars just to have a kitchen that I couldn’t use. That’s a rip off. Close to the end of my trip I thought was 12pm check out oh boy was I Wong it was 11am. The house keeper came n explain to use it was 11am check out so I close the door n tried to get my things together. Within 10min the security guard came knocking on the door so I answered n all I can said is wow, he was the rudest security guard I ever seen like really who can gather all our things in 10min n he stood outside until we was finished gather our things like really again treat us like a common thrives again
I booked the Ala Moana Mantra Hotel for last 2 nights of or 3 week Hawaii adventure. I wanted somewhere close to the Ala Moana shopping Centre to keep my wife happy for the personal shopping time I had promised she could have at the end of our trip. (We'd already done 5 excellent nights on Waikiki Beach at the start of our trip) The hotel is literally connected to Ala Moana shopping centre by a ramp on the hotel 2nd floor that takes you (1min) to Macy's entry. The hotel is a main base for many international airlines crew accomodation. The hotel doesn't have all the 'bells and whistles' of the hotels down in Waikiki but it was fine for our needs of a family of 4 since we'd already done all the resorts and flash hotels. Uber to Waikiki from the hotel was about $7 - cheaper than 4 people on a trolley bus - never waited more than 2mins for an uber. Our room on the 27th floor (2723?) had a great 180degree sweeping views from the balcony - from mountainsides, across to Waikiki to the yacht harbour to the park.Checkin staff were friendly and efficient, in-room wifi internet included, Starbucks on the ground floor with a good shop for beer, food, drinks, souvenirs etc.
it was all good...the personal were all nice friendly lots of aloha...from the time we check in till we left everyone was nice and friendly.....i live off island and i like the hotel because it has a local feeling to its environment and atmosphere.....
