Great Location for Beaches and Shopping!

Ala Moana Hotel was where we stayed for our trip to Honolulu, and it was located just right for the activities we were planning. It is very close to Waikiki Beach and the all the best shopping in the area, including the HUGE Ala Moana Shopping Centre right next door. It also worked well as our base for when we explored around the island. Our room was perfect! The bed was comfortable, which is important to me because I don't usually sleep well in hotels. The outdoor pool and hot tub areas were very nice and spacious, and the fitness room was awesome! We found the staff was courteous and knowledgeable about the area and gave great advice about what to do and where to eat.The property is kept in beautiful condition. I would definitely stay there again!

Ideal location for Shopping and Beach

Ala Moana Hotel is locate in very ideal for people who likes shopping and beach. Hotel is located right at Ala Moana Shopping Center which just added EWA side includes (Bloomingdales,Norstrum, Shirokiya Japanese style foodcourts) and much more. Also Ala Moana shopping center is convenient to public transportations and Tour Company (JTB, HIS, JAL) transportations. Plus hotel is located right between Ala Moana Blvd and Kapiolani Blvd (two Honolulu main streets) easy access to Waikiki, downtown and Airport.

Nice Stay

Nice Sauna, rooms are recently remodeled and modern, clean yet small like all of Oahu hotel rooms. Conference rooms for business were way too cold all weekend (3 days) and made acupuncture continuing education seminars very challenging. We wore sweaters and parkas to get through the conference every day. Requested w management several times to make it warmer to no avail.Centrally located, sky bridge to Ala Moana shopping center.

Good for a layover

This hotel has been on my must-try list for a while now and after a 3-night stay, here’s my report!Check-in at 11am (or thereabouts) was with Lianne who promptly assigned us to our Waikiki Tower Mountain View Room. No line at check-in. Jason at Bell Services had our luggage delivered to our room shortly after.Pros• Early check-in was a big plus especially as the hotel was fully booked!• Bell Staff were very courteous and wiki wiki• Our Room, 1932 had double-glazing so it was very quiet (we had requested a quiet room with a higher floor at time of booking)• Housekeeping was excellent – the room was very clean and toiletries replenished daily• Laundry facilities on the Kona Tower 13th floor was ample• Access to Ala Moana Center (via Mall carpark) on the 2nd floor was very convenient• Self-park below the hotel was great, lots were plentiful and easy to navigate. Attendants were very friendly• Location is good – a small street away from Kapiolani Blvd with its many eateries (the Original Pancake House, Pho One etc)• Room still felt new and color scheme was very pleasantCons• Room 1932 Mountain view was rather poor – an empty building site below, a obstructed view on the left…hardly scenic so we didn’t use the lanai at all• Hotel is popular with convention attendees, flight crew so lines at Reception can be very long• The hotel is an older structure. Plumbing is noisy and lifts are slowTip• Book Waikiki TowerOverall a pleasant stay, big disappointment was the Mauka view from our room. You won’t get the Waikiki vibe here (which we missed). Then again, it’s a lot quieter too. Would stay again for a layover perhaps if we can secure a good website rate.
