Aqua Oasis A Joy Hotel
- What's Included
OverviewAqua Oasis, A Joy Hotel is a relaxed, refined, and peaceful oasis at the bustling center of Waikiki. Guest rooms and suites all feature marble entryway, private in-room jet spas, and stereo entertainment systems. The terrific location near all of Waikiki's entertainment and shopping make the Aqua Oasis an ideal choice.
location was very good, short walk to the beaches, lots of restaurants and convienience stores.Rooms were fairly large,(had 2 doubles and a rollaway bed)and clean,Huge balcony(lanai).free towels to take to the beach. Our room faced a busy part of the street,we were on the 5th floor so you could hear traffic as well as noise from the pub next to the hotel. Our room was next to the Elevator, which we did not have any issues with the noise from it,but the area had the smell of food being cooked everyday of our stay,I should have mention this to the front desk.Breakfast was very poor, same every morning, not a lot of variety or hot breakfast. There were a lot of nearby restaurants and a couple of food courts.Check in/Check out went ok,Nicole from the front desk was really great, always ready to help and have a chat.We made a request in our reservations for 2 double beds and a rollaway, when we arrived in the room there was no rollaway, had to arrange it with front desk to get housekeeping to deliver and make the bed.The rollaway bed was in a very poor condition, the springs were sagging and the matress was so thin that you could feel the springs through.Requested another bed with front desk the next day, recevied a much better rollaway bed.Front desk staff are very helpful and responsive do their outmost to resolve any issue.in fact all of the staff at Aqua were good and helpful with information. All in all we had a great stay in Ohau and at Aqua Oasis.Wished they had a free shuttle from and to the Airport.
My title says it all, 5th time to HNL and I always stay on Lewers St, it is the place to stay. Central with easy access around HNL and Oahu. The hotel is a little older than some, it has everything you will need. The safe packed in and had to be reset. Reception was helpful over all.Parking available (payment required). When it rains the hotel can be slippery all over! Beach towels available for use. The breakfast while included in the rate (which you obviously are paying for) is very very average. It's repudiative day after day and very limited. And AQUA OASIS live by your own rules, if they towel is hanging up I'll use it again!!! If it's in the bath change it over please. Mine was ALWAYS HANGING AND WAS ALWAYS CHANGED.
I booked 2 nights in Aqua Oasis on a rival website to Trip Advisor, and that website gave me some incorrect information about the hotel which caused me to book a Standard Room. Upon arriving there, I found out that the information provided to me was incorrect. I was a upset (I had been lied to!), but not at the staff/hotel...at the stupid site which fed me incorrect information (and which I will never use again). The lady manning the front desk upgraded me from a Standard Room to a Junior Suite at no expense and took very good care of me. She didn't have to do that...but that's how the service of this establishment takes care of its guests. I appreciated that greatly.Aqua Oasis is a nice, independently-owned hotel located in downtown Honolulu. It is several located several blocks from Waikiki Beach, and it is in easy walking distance of the beach, lots of restaurants, shopping and entertainment locations. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are nice, and the prices are reasonable. Breakfast is included from 7am-9am for all rooms, which is a nice touch (many of the hotels in this area did NOT include breakfast, or they only include it to people staying in higher-end rooms). The Junior Suite I stayed in had a full kitchen (full-size refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, dishes, etc. The only thing it lacked was an oven.), its own private, furnished balcony, a large King sized bed, spacious bathroom (with the fancy electronic toilet that had a built-in bidet and dryer), a nice flat-screen TV (42" or bigger), and other nice amenities. The major issue with this hotel (like all of the surrounding hotels in the area) is that parking is limited. There is a small, scary parking lot located on the backside of the hotel that charges $45(!!!) per day to park your car! Judging by the questionable people hanging around in that parking lot, I would recommend paying the hotel $30/day for their valet parking. It is secure, keeps your car safe, and the staff is prompt to get your car when you ask for it.Great ambiance, wonderful staff, and a convenient location makes this a hotel that I recommend you consider when staying in the Waikiki Beach area. I would stay there again.
This hotel is a real all rounder Very clean, just off the main street, close to the beach, in the middle of the shopping district, public transport is less than a minute walk, free shuttle to Ala Mona shopping centre If you just arrive and you need a convenient store there is Abc stores and the Whalers Great places to eat is Moose's, Korea bbq and Thai. All in the same street as the hotel. Keep in mind you can see fireworks every Friday if you are on the top floorsThey also have a self service washing machine and drying in the hotel. It cost six quarters Overall had a great time will rebook when we come back to Waikiki
Had to overnight with some clients. Of course I got the standard room (twin beds) but it was totally fine, we were just over nighting with a business group in town. The Oasis is refurbished from the old Joy. They did a pretty decent job with the upgrade but as with the older hotels like these, there is only so much you can do. But they did a good job so no complaints. Room was decent sized, a/c worked well and it was fairly noise free (quieter side of Lewers). Bathroom was clean and the water pressure was good. Standard bathroom amenities. Really didn't spend more than 6 hours in the room so it did it's job. Included breakfast was good: cereals, baked good (muffins) boiled eggs, juices, coffees- worked for me and group. The open air lobby is funky but kind of fun: swing chairs, fish pond area, and a soaking pool (you can't jump into it, too shallow). The sun/lounge chairs work as long as you are there when the sun hits the deck (due to other buildings the sun isn't always there. Best part are the staff, they are super friendly and willing to answer any question with a smile (even the valet guys). The Oasis works, totally functional, nice rooms for an overnight and the breakfast was everything you can want for an included meal in Waikiki. HINT: we took the group to the karaoke joint on site; it's probably the best song selection in the island and great prices. Not the most modern but the rooms have ice cold a/c and no tech issues. They even bring drinks to you when you intercom and you can bring your own food. Lots of fun. Back to the hotel, I would definitely bring clients back to the Oasis on a short stay. It's not a resort but great for overnights.
