Overview
The Aqua Waikiki Pearl recently completed a full hotel renovation and now features 135 freshly upgraded, spacious rooms. With the amazing transformation of this central Waikiki boutique hotel came a new name and fabulous new amenities, such as a friendly full-service concierge and private en-suite lanais. The rooms are some of the biggest in Waikiki; the one bedroom suites are a roomy 720 square feet of pure elegance, while the city view rooms are a comfortable 450 square feet. Take a few steps from the hotel and relax on Waikiki Beach, shop in the maze that is the International Marketplace, or party on Lewers Street.

Location: Central Waikiki, near the International Marketplace and two blocks from Waikiki beach.

Great added value in Waikiki

I am just coming back from four days at the Aqua Pearl. For what it costed me ($78 per day + taxes) I could not have expected more in overpriced Waikiki. Late night receptionist was very polite and helpful. She gave me a high floor room, which was spacious and clean (even though a few refurbishments won't be a bad idea). The room was fully equipped with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. When I left, I unexpectedly required an airport shuttle service, and they provided it to me on the spot. Location is right in the middle of Waikiki so you basically have everything you need just a few steps away. They also have a free shuttle service to Ala Moana Shopping Mall and other locations in Wikiki which can be tracked online. I would definitely consider staying here again if I were to come back to Waikiki.

One night was enough

The hotel location is good and the price was reasonable. I was relieved that there were no signs of cockroaches in my room after reading some of the reviews on here! In saying that, I can't say I enjoyed staying here. The room was a bit dungeon-y - a small, dark box with a tiny window that was too high to see anything from. The air conditioner was loud and not very effective. Functional for one night but probably wouldn't stay again.

Overall great experience

We were very surprised how central this hotel was to everything in Waikiki. Room are a bit rundown and we did encounter issues with our room as air con was very loud, carpet had really bad stains and cockroaches in the room. We spoke to reception and the manager on duty promptly put us in a new room with photos provided, it made a big difference to our stay. We had 3 kids with us and they felt very comfortable staying here. Starbucks Reserve is minutes away and Food Pantry also a block away from the hotel with everything to stock up with munchies for the kids and alcohol for the adults, it's like an IGA but prices are very good for the area. ABC store is on the corner but a bit more pricey and the International Market Place across the road. There is plenty of shopping outlets close by like Ross, Nordstrom and Macy's is close by but if you like Basketball Flight 23 (Michael Jordan 23 ) is in the market place. Our room had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Coin Op laundry is on site so very convenient when travelling with kids. Staff are great and management even better, i can highly recommend this hotel for people that are looking for a central location and are also travelling with kids. It is Hawaii and hotels are a bit rundown but remember you go to paradise to explore not to spend it in the Hotel Room.

2nd stay here - less than impressed

We stayed here in 2013 and found it great. Location wise was excellent and the size of the room was spacious for what we needed. There is onsite coin laundry service which we used & found helpful to have on-site. Coming back here in 2017 we were less than impressed. We only stayed two nights as everything about the room was awful. There was duck tape all over the curtains covering holes which let the sunshine through early in the morning. The room didn't look or feel clean after housekeeping came through to clean it. The beds were very hard and they were the size of a small double so both my husband and I slept in different beds so we could spread out a bit. No restaurant or eatery on site but there are many close by including the international markets which is not too far away. No swimming pool but only a short walk (5-7mins) to the beach via two blocks. The suite next door to us were having a loud party which we didn't want to ruin to early, but by midnight we had had enough and called reception to let them know. They said others had also complained hours before us and they were being dealt with but we didn't notice security visit them until well after an hour after us phoning to complain. All in all, good location but less than impressive room and services. We don't plan to stay here on our return visit to Waikiki.

Cockroaches on my toothbrush

Disgusting. We booked only one night to stay in Waikiki with my girlfriend. There were cockroaches and little bugs everywhere. They wouldn't give us our money back. Should be closed. Also charged 30 dollars for parking. Book another place.
