Great hotel

Stayed here for 4 nights! Fantastic hotel for a very reasonable price! Staff were friendly and polite, booked via expedia silver members so was provided with a free upgrade from a standard to an ocean view room. Great view of Queen's beach from balcony and convenient amenities. Right on the beach front, with good restaurants And convenience stores below. Also has a expedia local expert tour desk inside. Pool is small but amenities and towels to use at beach are included in resort fee. Also on the door stop is the hop on hop off trolley and local bus stops to make it easy to get around! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Amazing Anniversary Surprise!

My husband surprised me with a trip to Waikiki for our 25th wedding anniversary. We were travelling with another couple who were also celebrating their 21st so I phoned the hotel and asked if they have anything special to decorate both our rooms for a surprise. Thelma the Food and Beverage Supervisor was so helpful. I ordered a champagne basket and some loose orchid petals to be scattered on the bed upon our arrival. I had co ordinated it with the Front end supervisor Lillian and it went off without a hitch. Our friends and my husband were surprised upon our arrival. I was only a little disappointed that the champagne was not chilled it was wrapped in a basket! :( Our room was amazing! We were on the 23 floor looking down Kalakaua Ave and the beautiful ocean. Yes the room could use some "updating" but we don't spend time in our room except to sleep so what more do you need? It was clean, the A/C worked well and the king size bed was comfortable! The key system for the elevators was a little confusing for some as you tap your card, enter your floor and it selects one of the 5 elevators for you! There was always someone looking dazed at the elevators! haha The pool area was clean, the bathrooms around the pool were clean and the there was always fresh towels. You could sign out beach chairs to take to the beach with you as well as the little drink stand had coolers with ice and pop you could buy I think $4. Great deal! The Tiki bar was amazing for their happy-hour as well as the meals were fantastic. It didn't get much better than sitting on the deck over looking the beach listening to the live music. If you are looking to book some activities, don't hesitate to go and see Kahea from Pleasant Holidays. She will make sure you are well taken care of! We booked a rental car, the Pearl Harbour Excursion and the Sunset Dinner cruise all through her. She was so informative and made sure our Anniversary dinner on the cruise was 5 star! She is located on the pool level, the first wicket on the Left! We will definitely come back to Waikiki and stay at the Aston! You cannot beat the view, the location and friendly n service by all the employees. If you are looking for a hoity-toity hotel, this place is not for you! We cannot wait to come back! <3

This is my hotel on Oahu.

This was our 3rd trip to Oahu and our 3rd stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. At check-in there was a woman handing out cups of shave ice to everyone waiting, which was nice. We got to our room and set the thermostat to 70° before going out. 3 hours later we came back to the room and it was still 74°, which to us is uncomfortable. I spoke to the desk and they were extremely helpful and sent a maintenance tech to the room. About 40 minutes later the temperature hadn't changed, so the desk moved us to a better room. As far as the rooms go, our rooms were clean. You can find places in the rooms that need to be touched up but I'd be willing to bet that you can find the same thing at one of the higher priced hotels down the strip. Housekeeping did a great too.At checkout you'll be charged a $25/night amenity fee and $32/day valet parking fee (if you used valet). Parking in Waikiki is a premium and the $32 is pretty much what you'll find at any Waikiki hotel. If you don't want to pay that, just take the bus because you won't find any street parking. The $25/night amenity fee covers multiple things the only one we really used was the WiFi. Personally, I'd rather the amenity fee be added to my room total on the front side so it's already paid when we arrive. But it's ok, just make sure you budget for that. If you're going to be driving, the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is at the end of the strip, so getting in and out is pretty easy. If you've ever walked by any of the other hotels on Kalakaua, you know that getting in, and especially getting out, are difficult. The hotel employees are great, so be kind to them. The location is great, it's less crowded on their end of Waikiki. We have no interest in staying anywhere else when we come back. Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is our hotel.

Close enough to everything!

This isn't the newest fanciest hotel on the block but it met our needs. My bf and I spent a week here and had everything we needed. Our kitchen was great to help us save on food expenses. Really enjoyed the view of the beach from our bedroom every morning. Amenities we good. Decent sized pool. They even had bbqs we could use! Staff were really accomodating and helped us with everything we needed. Was a huge bonus to be allowed to use the facitlities after check out as we didnt fly until ten pm. Really appreciated being able to use their showers and clean up. Nice spacious rooms at this hotel.

Another day in Paradise...

Had an oceanfront room...paid extra...bit miffed when you meet other travellers who tell of the great upgrade they got to oceanfront rooms....LOL..we did get free juice in the fridge though.....so there..Room was clean, bright and quiet...downside of the ocean front room is that damn setting sun, could we dull it down a bit...seriously...man wants to sit on his lanai of an evening and sip a few cold suds....which he can't cos theres no table to put aforementioned suds on.......oh the humanity...and its hotTikis restaurant is OK...really not that special folks...you need to lift your game...you can only do so much with pork n pineapple.....Bar staff were great when you get a seat at the bar..which i highly recommend, cos sitting at an open table doesn't get the type of service you expect...especially if your the guy who paid extra for an special room to find out your not that special.....Seriously though the wait service to the open tables is sloooooow.my fizzy mineral water was flay by the time i received...i sat there watching it on the bar for ages until someone remembered it might be for a paying customer......Aside all that, pool is fine for a dip....no pool service though.reception is efficient and elevator process is great.
