Our Opinion

A good 3 star resort, not too far from the beach. Rooms have separate bedrooms and full kitchens.

This condominium resort is located on the Diamond Head side of Waikiki, just a 5 minute walk to Waikiki Beach and Kapiolani Park. Enjoy the comforts of home in 1 and 2 bedroom condos set in a residential neighbourhood. An excellent choice for families.

Location: In Waikiki, 10-minute walk to the beach and Honolulu Zoo, 15km from Honolulu Int'l Airport.

Comparable pricing for better places to stay

I would agree with what others have written. The place is extremely tired, dirty carpets, saggy bed and the 16th floor smelled of food all the time. The actual room size and layout is good. The views are good and it is 2 blocks from the water. The pool area was windy and the water was not warm enough to entice me so I passed and went to the crowded beach. What a zoo of people! I went for a wedding but I will never go again to Waikiki , nothing but tourists and shopping. The water was not pretty, it was dirty from people and sun tan lotion. Poor impression of Hawaii. Find another Island to go to , don't waste your time here. Yes, there is beauty to find but much traffic to get there. Whatever you do , DO NOT use "Discount Shuttles" 808 699-1959 or 808 590-0700. They never showed up to take me to the airport! I called even the night before to confirm. I had my doubts as they answered the phone very unprofessional. Once I arrived in the states I called them and complained, not even an apology just a lame excuse. The hotel staff were useless, didn't even offer to help of any form, just kept on talking to each other. I think I've said enough. Oh, one thing if you want a great snorkeling trip use KoOlina Ocean Adventures 808 675-2895. They were awesome!!!! I will review them separte . Look for my write up. If you liked what I wrote please give me a helpful vote. Thanks

Only letdown of my Hawaii trip

We chose to stay in the Aston Waikiki as it was one of the few places that could accommodate 3 adults in the one hotel room. Upon arrival they charged the wrong card to the room and said they could do nothing to retrieve the money which left us without a massive chunk of our spending money. The room itself was nice with a great view but the hotel overall is extremely outdated and run down. The pool wasn't real great and not somewhere I'd want to hang out. We ended spending no time at the hotel and staying out as long as possible only to return to sleep.

Worst hotel I've ever been too

service is really bad they have annoying workers elevators take forever and are always crowded. Pool area is always full or windy but elsewhere it's hot. Far from beach and other cool places. Design is really old fashioned but not the good kind

A nice place to stay, but a bit on the tired side

First impression was not very good. It took us three trips around the block to finally find an entrance to the parking garage as we were never able to find the reception desk by driving around the property. Fortunately we found a kind soul who let us in the elevator lobby so we could eventually find the front desk. Once there, we found the staff very friendly and accommodating. The view from our room was spectacular. The listing mentioned a partial ocean view, but what we got was a completely unobstructed view of Diamond Head from the hotel's 17th floor. The room itself was a bit tired and in need of a makeover. Stains were present all over the carpets and things like cracked grout in the bathroom and leaky windows revealed that this hotel could use some TLC. We did not have the opportunity to use many of the hotel's amenities as it was our final night stop before returning to the mainland, but the room in general was comfortable and slept our large group well, and it's lower Waikiki location provided lots of dining and shopping opportunities.

Good location

This hotel is old and tired, but it's totally functional. We had a great corner room with views over Waikiki and Diamond Head. Full size kitchen, good bathroom with great water pressure in the shower. was grubby, the shower hadn't been cleaned properly in sometime, there was mould growing around the shower controls and the handrail. Just a quick wipe with a makeup wipe removed some of it, if I'd had a bottle of bleach and a scrubbing brush it would have come clean no trouble. Old dental floss behind the sink mixer in the bathroom too (Urgh) The bedroom mirror and wardrobe doors were grubby with handmarks. Also had a fire alarm go off one night when only my 15 year old daughter was in the room (we had gone out to get pizza) She evacuated down the stairs from the 36th floor, and at no point did any staff let her know that it was a false alarm or that it was safe to go back to the room. Other than a sign plonked on the reception desk, there was no verbal communication with the guests. That was totally unacceptable, especially when two days later several people died in a high rise apartment fire. You need to take better care of your guests!!!I don't think I would stay there again.
