Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk
- What's Included
Overall experience was very pleasant and the staff was excellent especially the restaurant staff. More omelette chefs required during the busy times. Our family has been staying at this hotel since 2012.
Having stayed here years ago we were disappointed by how Hilton has let this hotel become shabby and worn out. The decor is brown, orange and dated. Of the 3 elevators only one was working and for a high tower one elevator led to long waits to board a smallish elevator. At one point the housekeeping staff tried to push a large laundry cart onto the elevator which led to protests. The pool area is only ok with a number of broken chairs that should be removed. The included breakfast is a bonus for families. The extra room is convenient for a family. The proximity to the beach is about 200 metres. It is now a reasonably priced family hotel and for Asian travellers it is best for big families.
I picked this hotel based on the many positive reviews here on Trip Advisor.I was so happy to find all of those positive reviews were spot on. Thank you so much, without those very accurate reviews I never would have found this wonderful Hotel for my family to enjoy.Check in very quick and easy (a cold tropical drink was a lovely start)Rooms clean and quiet, beds comfy.(We were near elevators and heard nothing). No resort fees (my friends got a nasty surprise when they checked into Hawaiian Village and had to pay over $200 for things that are complimentary here, and I paid less than them)Complimentary Buffet breakfast daily was awesome. Special mention for Aldrin (I think that's his name), he was always smiling as he cleared away and cleaned tables, folks please tip these guys as it's not as obvious to tip them as waiters in a restaurant but they do appreciate tips.Nightly Manager's Cocktail evening was a fav with our family. Just loved it and found it a great time to mingle and meet other guests from around the world.Lovely pool areaGood WiFiVery short walk to beach - walk another 5 mins past all the beachfront resorts to get to the main part of Waikiki Beach (Highly recommend DUKES, great service, food, prices and views - Try the Hula Pie).I highly recommend this property if you don't need to be beachfront. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Waikiki and will recommend it to my friend's and family. Polynesian Cultural Center is awesome and worth every cent (pay extra for the Ambassador Package and take the bbq lunch that's offered on the shuttle ride there). We also enjoyed Yard House and Cheesecake Factory for lunch.Enjoy Hawaii...we can't wait to go again in a few years.
Amazing place to stay . Staff were so friendly and helpful . Happy hour was great with complementary drinks and food between 5.30 & 7.30pm. Only one block from beach and in a great spot in Waikiki. Will definitely be back .
Had a fantastic time. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, especially the reception staff who helped with phone calls when we realised we had left something in the seat pocket on the flight into Honolulu which we did manage to get back. As a family of 4 with kids aged 12 and 17 a suite was better than paying for 2 rooms in other hotels. We had a city room view, although it did have a great view of the ocean from the balcony!, with 2 queen beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the lounge area. My eldest had the sofa bed and he found it comfortable (and he is just under 6ft tall). having the extra living space along with a small kitchen area with fridge, microwave, tea/coffee facilities was great. The only drawback was that although there was loads of storage space with a wardrobe and many drawers once the suitcases had been emptied there wasn't really anywhere to put them. The free breakfast and managers reception in the evening were very good and definitely an added bonus. Another attraction of this hotel is that there are no resort charges. As a Hilton Honours member I looked at all their hotels in the area and this can out the best.Although not on the beach it is very close. We found that the nearest beach was a bit rocky once you were in the water but if you walk around 15 mins along the beach in either direction you'll find areas without rocks. I recommend the Ala Moana beach which is great for younger children. If you don't want to walk there take the pink line shopping trolley to the Ala Moana Centre for $2 per person which is close to the beach. It is also very close to the main shopping area and the zoo (around 20 Min walk) the aquarium is also around 30 min walk and gives a great view of Diamond Head. The hotel does not have a shuttle that runs to the airport but a taxi from the airport cost us $45 and slightly more going back as we went during rush hour so it took longer. Alaine on the bell desk was great at helping out work out the best time to leave and storing out luggage.Internet is free but does require re-logging on occasionally. There are plenty of sockets in the room for charging phones and the alarm clock also has an iPhone dock.Thoroughly recommend this hotel and if I am ever lucky enough to be able to go back to Hawaii this will be my first choice
