Holiday Inn Resort Waikiki Beachcomber
- What's Included
We just stayed at the Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber for 6 nights with my husband and two kids (3 and 11 months old). From the moment we checked in, it was an absolute delight. Special shout out to Selena, the cute little Japanese lady who checked us in and after arriving a little early we asked if there was a room available for us as we were so tired from the flight and needed to rest. She quickly called room service and they whipped up a room for us within an hour!! Now thats service! Also she explained everything so thoroughly for us and all was smooth from then on in. Rooms were cleaned everyday and Id like to take a moment to say thank you to the lovely cleaner Eva, she was so friendly and beautiful. She found my daughters gold earring and left a note for us with the earring next to it. She also left a note to say hi and have a nice day which was so nice to see. Pool is fantastic, my son had a ball. Maui Brewing Co next to the lobby was so convenient for breakky each morning, food is sensational. The beach is literally across the road and down a side alley. Could not fault anything from this hotel. Fresh beach towels to access in the pool area everyday. Hawaiian Aroma caffe next to pool, they made the best coco head smoothies and staff were always so friendly and smiling. All staff were so helpful and polite at this hotel. The hotel is central to everything. In a perfect location. Easy to access for strollers. We had an ocean view room which was amazing. We will be definitely coming back here!! Thanks so much Holiday Inn :)
This was an ok hotel. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our room was small with a view of the parking lot. Not too big of a deal as we were only there to sleep and shower. The Maui brewing company was attached which was a nice bonus upon arrival after 12 hours of traveling. There was also a nice cafe there for breakfast, although they should post their hours. Michael was very pleasant at check-in.
This was the third time I have stayed at the beachcomber. I have previously stayed at the outrigger and the Hilton Hawaiian and whilst they are also great, I think you can't beat the beachcomber for location and price point. The rooms are comfortable but standard, and the pool is on the smaller size but still fine for the kids. The staff are friendly and housekeeping had tidied our room most days before noon.'A good mix of nationalities staying at the hotel unlike other resorts which cater more for the Asian tourists.Perfect for families with older kids who prefer the beach and being central.
After three attempts of writing a rejected negative review on this property I can now understand why there aren’t many negative or poor reviews on this hotel. The facts:- We did not get the room we originally requested (booked via IHG website).- At check in was told our high floor ocean view wasn’t available.- Then was told the room we were allocated was only with two queen sized beds (we requested a king while booking through the IHG website). - Originally allocated room was still not ready after 1500hrs on the day of our check in (front desk staff blamed the cleaners). - IHG Rewards status not recognised by anyone at check in, and so many other people got into their rooms before us.We were convinced by the front desk staff to take a room on level 2 that had a king. I double checked to make sure this was a quiet room and was told it was only to discover we had a small fleet of industrial exhaust fans in front of us plus the hotels spa facility across the hall plus a gym on the same level so pedestrian traffic seemed constant. After seeing the room and especially the bathroom, (which was appalling), I went back to the front desk to cancel the rest of our stay here, we ended up only staying one night.- Did this property meet our expectations? NO. - Was this property a disappointment? YES.- Are there benefits about this property? Being located in Waikiki its closer to better hotels. From a disappointed IHG Rewards Spire Elite/Ambassador guest.
I stayed with my wife 5 days last aug excellent location and front desk staff who checking me to very nice room with view to the ocean and quite & the hotel staff especially the housekeeping are so nice and professional service.I would recommend this hotel for anther stay .Thank you for outstanding service and rooms.
