Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort
- What's Included
We arrived on the red eye pretty much from Brisbane, which meant getting to the hotel well before official check in. We decided to store our luggage until check opened, but when we got to the check in desk they had a room available and we were allowed in which was great. The poolside bar was closed at the time which was a shame but there is a store inside that you can purchase drinks from. Great location and towels from the pool can be taken to the beach. The travel desk staff are very friendly and helpful. For the Aussies, you wont get a coffee like that from home but we found if you ask for triple shots its near enough !!
Fantastic location which was within walking distance of shops, restaurants, beach and right next door to International Market Place (which has just been renovated) . Our partial ocean view room had an amazing view of the beach and the room was very clean and comfy. Make sure you dont take a room right next to elevators coz they get so noisy and block wifi access (which was annoying when you want to lay in bed on your phone). The pool was a little small but there were plenty of seats and there is a great cafe near the lobby. highly recommend this place!
A kind of mixture feeling, as I could not find any reason to justify the resort fee. No restaurant available, very busy hotel with lot of group tour and long line for everything, in special for elevator. The worst part was the limited number of device (4 for a room that can accomodate up to 4 persons) allowed to access internet and no chance to modofy it.I did like the easy contact to hotel, room upgrade (although without late check out option even for IHG Platinum member) and no fee for delivered package.
Hotel is centrally located for walking around Waikiki. Room was nice, but no comfortable chairs in room to set in. Had to lie on bed to watch TV. You have to pay to use Business Center computers, this is completely not satisfactory. Staff are polite and helpful.
My review is long overdue and I feel terrible. Last holidayed at the Holiday Inn in June this year with my husband and two kids and another family and friend, was there in only November previous and have been previous to that, great hotel, fantastic location. So many great things to say. Jimmy Buffets was gone and the new place not quite ready to be open so it’d be great to see how that is now, similarly we were also a bit too soon to see the new marketplace, the coffee at that café though - the Nero Aroma - DELISH! and the service from the lovely staff there, awesome!A few quick specific mentions:-Firstly - NATALIE CACARES, who I didn’t know till near the end of our stay was actually located on site, from the beginning of our booking months before our stay she was awesome, ensuring our booking was correct, we had an awesome room (exact same one from our November stay), we were travelling with others and she ensured all our rooms were together. She even emailed during our stay to make sure everything was going well. She was an awesome help and provided the attention and service that you wish you could get everywhere. I will definitely be getting back to Natalie for our next stay (hopefully not too far away).Secondly - JAMES SPEIGHT, the concierge that goes so far above and beyond. You can read many reviews that mention James and his awesome service, but when he goes out of his way to rescue luggage items for you from the airport and helps get them back home (to Australia!) for you, what more can you say. Only puts you on to the best tours to ensure you’ll have a great time, has all the best tours, couldn’t get anyone more knowledgeable, and the kids love him!Last but not least, I wish I knew the lovely ladies name from the desk at the bottom of the escalators, but when my husband left his sunglasses she remembered who he was and went out of her way to ensure they got back to the hotel. All in all lovely friendly staff, great rooms and facilities, awesome location. Can’t wait to get back!
