We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary during our recent visit to the Holiday Inn Resort Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. Every staff member at the hotel was helpful and courteous. Lee-Ann was most helpful in arranging my request for an ocean view/high floor room. The room was always clean, A/C worked great, and the daily maid service was exceptional. Thanks again and we hope to be back soon, as our last visit to Hawaii was 31 years ago.
Really impressed by this hotel. The staff on check in were super helpful getting us into our room a bit early so our 7 month old could have a nap. Really appreciated it ! The customer service was great the whole time, very clean and well located. loved the coin laundry, and the pool was lovely too. The only gripe I had was the resort fee. $20 a night plus tax for a crappy $2 bag, a redundant trolley ride, and water with sliced lemon in it. The coffee shop was okay.. espresso... but watery and really slow service.
We stayed at this resort for three days when we first arrived in Hawaii. It was a really great stay, friendly on arrival we were lucky to have a room readily available which was great as we had a really early arriving flight, and were exhausted. There is a great pool/spa area, and nice cafe and the location was amazing. This resort is only 1 block from Waikiki beach and takes about 5-10 mins walk, so super easy, and you are right on the shopping strip. Well worth a stay and would return.
The hotel was very nice. Good location and great staff. The concierge staff of James and Monica were the best part. James hooked us up with the awesome Chief's Lulu and the great Pearl Harbor tours. Monica hooked us up with the best flower leis in Hawaii, a rental car, and mapped out a driving tour of the Northshore, with cool food stops. Those 2 made are vacation great. We appreciate it.
The staff in this hotel are excellent especially the the cleaners and the bell hops better than those at at Hyatt Regency that we stayed in twice before. The only problem that I find with the better half is that the staff at the check in desk do not give you all the information that you need and you you have to go read up on some basic information on you your own.The resort fees should have been included in the overall fees like Outrigger Reef On The Beach that way guests don't have to complain about paying extra fees. Please do not book the standard room because there are no bath tubs only standing shower compare to Outrigger Reef On The Beach which have both. This hotel is located in a central location in Waikiki like Hyatt Regency or Marriott but not on the beach like Outrigger Reef on the Beach. There was no restaurant located in this hotel but there are plenty within walking distance. If you don' mind walking couple of blocks to get to the beach and no restaurant then this is the hotel for you. But if you prefer a hotel that have a restaurant or two then I will recommended Outrigger Reef on the Beach because Outrigger offers better services. This is my own opinion I am retired and I don't work for any of this hotels in Waikiki..
