The location of this hotel next to the duty free shopping center , 15 minutes walks to the Waikiki beach, suitable for tourists who love shopping , sightseeing and want to take more times outside. The room are good for sleep.
We stayed here for 4 nights on the first leg of our Hawaii vacation. The hotel was clean and ready to access, about a block from the beach. The hotel itself is a little old and out dated however well maintained. If you don't mind the older look, the price was very reasonable. They do give other perks like free car parking in the indoor garage and free trolley access (granted "'free" is a little wishy-wasn't as they charge a mandatory convenience fee to cover Wi-Fi, the trolley and parking on a daily basis, but all of the Hawaiian hotels do). Overall it was a comfotable stay.
Lobby staff efficient and smiling. Pleasantly surprised at large room (1417) with small balcony and a pleasing view of the ocean, canal, Kings Village and the mountains. Comfortable double beds with large flat screen, pool/beach towels and a free drawstring bag. Great location, 5 minute straight walk to beach, free access to Pink Trolley line for shopping, coffee/muffin small bar/appetizers right in lobby, Food Pantry, fast food, and ABC store across street and 20%off coupon for Chuck's Cellar (steak/seafood) on site. Room had 2 closets, safe, fridge. Bathroom was typical of older hotel in a smaller size but was updated, shower small but great shower head, small amounts of black in shower tiles, needs a good scrub. Other members of party staying elsewhere were shocked at the great rate I had for the quality. Enjoyed 5 day stay and will book again.
The rooms were small and the view of the parking lot was not the best but the staff were great and friendly. The hotel was close to everything. The pool and hot tub were great after a day of site seeing.
The location of this hotel is the main high point. It is located a very short walk from Waikiki Beach. Your room key gives you complimentary access to the pink line trolley which is also very convenient for getting about the local area. There are shops nearby with a variety of options. We had a room with a kitchenette. This suited us very well as we were tired of take out/fatty junk food. The hotel has a coin laundry downstairs which we also greatly appreciated. On the other hand the rooms were dated. They were very clean though and comfortable. The room we had was small, just a very small "queen" bed and a poky tiny balcony that you could not sit on. The bathroom was very small. The shower was tiny, the smallest I have ever seen. They seriously need to fix the elevators/lifts. I went in to the one on the left with three ladies, and it dropped suddenly, then lurched frighteningly up to another floor, then dropped again then went back up. It really is not acceptable to terrify your paying guests. When I went to report it after we finally were able to get out, the man on the desk was dismissive to the point of rudeness. He clearly had no empathy for the fright that the experience had given us. They didn't even close the elevator but left it open to do the same thing to other guests. The other lifts also lurched and were uncomfortable to ride in but not to the point of the other one.
