Ohana Waikiki East
- What's Included
Waikiki has been let run down.Waterfalls and fountains along beachfront are not working and stagnant.Grass verge around the Duke's statue has been let go and is very patchyBeen to Waikiki four times but very disappointed Will not go back again
We had a large room that I could lie on the bed and look at the surf. What more could you want? The location was easy access to beach and shops. There were evening food markets, some nights, across the road that had great food for dinner and fresh fruit for your breakfast, but no seating so it's walk around food. Would recommend the hotel for large clean rooms, great staff and close to everything but not in the middle of traffic noise.
If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay with great service,Ohana Waikiki East is the place. It's kind of tucked away but easily accessible. From check in to check out, the staff was friendly and more than accommodating. We arrived late due to a delayed flight but they held our room and didn't miss a beat in providing us with what we needed. The rooms are spacious and clean, no doubt due to the wonderful housekeeping staff. The city view was beautiful and everything was in walking distance, including the beach!I've been to Hawaii many times and I've stayed at a few of the Outrigger/Ohana properties. They are always my first choice. I will definately return to Ohana Wakiki East. Mahalo
We stayed at this hotel before and after a Pride of America cruise. Thanks to Sarah at reception for making our check in seamless on both occasions. Our rooms were large, clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage space. Plenty of hot water in the shower and we were given a kettle to make our own cups of tea. There is a microwave down stairs if you need it.The hotel is very close to the beach, but we used the hotel pool and spa. There are several food stores nearby to stock up on snacks or easy meals. There is a laundry next door which was great after we had been on the cruise for a week. The man down stairs helped us with directions and tickets for shuttles etc. the restaurant near the hotel is being remodelled so food nearby was very expensive. I found out later that it is better to use your pink trolley ticket and go further down the main drag, for more affordable meals. Our room on the 17th floor was fabulous but ask not to be near the lifts (rooms ending in 16/17) as they are noisy. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.
The hotel is still top quality. My wife and completed a Pride of America ship cruise and got to the hotel around 10 a.m.. Check in time is 3 p.m. so I asked if there was a room that I could check in any earlier. The woman at the desk said she would try. They had one for us at around 12 p.m.. She went out of her way to keep check on the rooms. We were very thankful. Just a not to say if you have your bathing suits, you can use the swimming pool while waiting for your room... All class hotel..
