I recently stayed here for a few days to unwind. Booked a queen bed with a waikiki view, which was NOT a view at all. My room's balcony faced a 94% view of a large parking lot, buildings, and directly below the hotel swimming pool. If you stretch out far enough, you can see the water to the left. My room was next the the elevator which didn't bother me too much, but the walls are very thin and it will bother those of you who are light sleepers. On a good note, the hotel is centrally located to a lot of things. Take the pink line to get you as far as the ala moana center and back. Plenty of bougie food places all around as well as ABC stores, and fast food joints right outside the hotel. In short, for the cost of the hotel and the location, I thought it was a fairly decent stay.

Great value

Hotel is very well located. I have stayed here in the past a few years ago, but with a remake of the International Market Place, this hotel is very well situated to shopping, restaurants and the beach.Front office staff seem like they have been there too long, and are not too friendly but get you your room keys fast and efficiently. Rooms are quite spacious and have city views only...basically. Rooms are clean, but the carpets could be replaced with flooring for a more sanitary effect... Bathrooms are good, but not much counter space to put your things.Pool area is good with a jacuzzi. Gym was kind of temporary looking and not very well equipped. It sits basically right in the lobby, so there is not too much privacy.Would I stay again? Yes, the value is good. I booked a special package which came with breakfast. But when I arrived they gave you the choice of either breakfast or lunch at neighbouring restaurants, which proved an even better value! So keep an eye out for that and book early!

Terrible hotel

As soon as we were shown our room we were so disappointed. We had the Waikiki room with a great view of a carpark! The website suggests a partial view but you have to go out on their tiny balcony to look to the left to see the ocean...bad advertising. The room smelled of dirty musk smell and was very small with the smallest shower door ever! Then the first night of sleeping we had this sound of what sounded like a plane flying over the hotel but like all night....it was the lift going up and down most of the night! It was so noisy and almost every person we encountered said the same thing. The lift (elevator) was also very scary as when you pressed your floor level it almost never went to the correct floor....it 'skipped' a few floors each time! There are no restaurants or bar onsite. These are on ground level next door to the hotel. The pool is on a lower level floor but is surrounded by 4 walls with no view at all. We had no trouble with staff and the location is good but will never return even if they paid us!

Old and tired

I stayed here in 1980.Back then it was quite nice. Recently I stayed for one night en route to and from USA.(2 nights total). The d├ęcor hasn't changed. Carpet is worn. The bathrooms in both cases were tiny. Hardly enough room to move around. In the second room the coffee machine didn't work, the room smelt smoky and it was adjacent to the lifts. This last feature kept me awake until after midnight and again after 6am.I used the pool which was good and clean. Staff were ok except bell desk guy who refused to get Sky shuttle for me as "they don't use them".(tall Caucasian with grey thick hair).I suspect he has a deal going with another company.

This is the best choice for those who want to enjoy Hawaii and not pay an arm and leg to do it!!! The location is great, the price is right, the hotel is clean, the beds sleep great, and the staff is friendly. There is no hesitation in recommending this hotel, I will definitely stay here again!!!
