This beachfront hotel has a little something for everyone, nightly entertainment, the Cowabunga kids program, a stunning collection of Polynesian canoe art, plus many more area attractions and activities to enjoy. A Canadian favourite Waikiki beachfront hotel.

Great hotel, friendly staff, small beachfront

Check in was a breeze with the staff being very friendly. Our oceanfront room is very large, clean and comfortable. The food in all the restaurants was delicious and their staff amazing, especially Kitty and Melissa. The only thing in which I was disappointed is the size of the beach, lots of people on top of each other. Voyager club has excellent food and the deck is very relaxing. Free beach bag with room is nice. Cleaning staff very friendly.

Many nice features but a very small beach.

Overall the hotel is nice--open and airy. Check-in was pleasant--greeted with a drink and a cool washcloth. Room--ocean view corner suite with two balconies, we could see the ocean but the view (Diamond Head) to our left was blocked by another hotel and in front of us was the rooftop of a building. We would have been disappointed in the view but we already had it at The Royal Hawaiian and The Sheraton. The room was nicely furnished, it looked just like the pictures. The bed was a bit soft with polyester pillows, no down available, bedding was fine with triple sheeting. We had access to the Voyager Club 47. Breakfasts were sufficient, pretty standard fare- scrambled eggs, ham quiche, oatmeal, fruit, juices, coffee and delicious taro bread. Ate lunch at the ShoreBird- food was not great. There are some nice shops in the hotel. There is a free gift that you pu from another desk but they try to sell you on time sharing. Though the pictures show you a beach, it is a tiny portion in front of the hotel.Overall a nice, clean place to stay.

I decided to splurge a little on this family trip and booked at the outrigger reef. I'm so glad I did ! Upon entering the hotel you are immediately greeted by the valet staff. We made our way to check in and we were greeted with a delicious glass of sparkling juice and cold towels. Totally unexpected! Our room was a partial ocean view which was great. We were right above the tiki stage so we were able to listen to the great music from our balcony at night. ( I believe music is from 6:30-9:30 nightly ) There are 3 restaurants onsite which we ate at 2 and the food was pretty good. Pool seemed always full but there was always chairs available ( mostly in the shaded area ) if you want sun all day make sure you get a chair on the side of the restrooms. The towel staff is always cleaning and making sure everyone follows pool rules ( no floats allowed ). Overall this place is wonderful ! Friendly staff, super clean , and super comfy beds and pillows !!!! I would recommend this place to friends and fam. Mahalo outrigger reef for everything you do for your guests ! Until next time !

Great spot, great service....super comfy rooms

We had 3 nights here & this place is a peaceful oasis right at the centre of Honolulu. Walking straight out the front to get to the beach was a bonus I had not expected. Lovely / helpful staff at reception & activities desk. This hotel is well placed to go shopping in the evening. The rooms are super comfortable and clean. Yeah sure it might still be rocking a bit of cane decor from the 90s but all looks new and makes it a little bit more authentic aloha.

Really great experience

I stayed at both the Sheraton (business reservation) and the Outrigger Reef (personal booking) and the Outrigger was by far the better experience. The staff was extremely friendly, the check-in was very personalized and welcoming. The room was very well furnished and had plenty of space. The location of the hotel is wonderful at as well. I do wish that the bed was less bouncy and more plush, but that is honestly the worst I can really say about the experience. I would definitely look at staying here again in the future.
