Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach
- What's Included
Beautiful hotel on the beach with lots of bars nearby. But its like you're on the strip at Las Vegas. Noisy, very busy, and not very relaxing. If you're going to Hawaii to party it up and be right on the beach, stay here! If you're going to relax and get away from crowds, I would not recommend this place or any place in Waikiki area.
Hands down one of the best places to stay in Waikiki. Directly in the heart of Waikiki the hotel is a short walk to anything you may need or a 5 min trolley ride away. Very accommodating to any request that we made and were very helpful. Stayed in a City view room that had an AMAZING view of the ocean. My only complaint is that the bathrooms need to be a bit bigger. Will defiantly be staying here again on our return trip.
This was our third stay at Outrigger in the past 3 years. It's fast become a favorite of ours due to the friendly service, great location and fantastic value for money. The hotel could do with a renovation, but I'm sure When that happens the prices will rise. So for now take advantage of the reasonable rates while you can! We stayed on the Royal Hawaiian side of the hotel which has amazing views, the only negative was the two very noisy vent fans on top of the Cheesecake Factory. Bit annoying if you want to relax on the lanai, but when the window is closed you can't hear it from the inside. The elevators are very slow but the hotel was at full capacity so it was understandable. Will stay again for sure. Mahalo Outrigger!
We have stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach several times and have never been disappointed. The location - on the beach - is outstanding with direct access to the surf and beach from the property. Rooms are excellent and while it is a little pricey, the location certainly compensates. The Outrigger Waikiki Beach is a 5 star hotel and has kept touch with Hawaii by offering guests activities and insights that give you more than just a 'touristy' exposure to Hawaii. It also contains Duke's Restaurant which is a 'must visit' when in Waikiki.Staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome especially when visiting the pool or having your room made up. Overall a relaxed and 'cool' place that offers more than just a bed and a name.
We stayed here for a week and had an amazing time. Staff at hotel were very friendly and helpful. I emailed the hotel prior to our stay to ask if they offered an airport shuttle service, they promptly emailed back and advised they did not offer a shuttle service but recommended Speedishuttle - I booked this and it was great service from the airport to the hotel (also the return trip). It took about 20 minutes from the airport to our hotel and our cases were taken off the bus and straight up to our rooms, also when we checked out the porters collected our cases from our room and stored them and then when the shuttle bus turned up they put them straight on the bus (great service). When we checked in we were given a lovely fruity drink and cold towel (a very nice touch)There are three restaurants at this hotel and a snack place, we ate at the Hula grill for breakfast and most evenings. It is best to book a table as there is always a wait. The waiters/waitresses were very friendly and helpful, also the staff at the front desk of the Hula grill were very cheerful. Food was very tasty and the views from the restaurant of Waikiki beach were wonderful. The hotel room was amazing - we were on the 16th floor with an awesome view of Waikiki beach. The rooms were very spacious and quiet and the good thing was they had 4 elevators and one of them was an 'express' elevator that only went to the top 3 floors. Brilliant. Our housekeeping lady was lovely, her name was Chong and our room was always cleaned to the highest standard and she was always friendly and helpful. The hotel was on Waikiki beach and offered a free trolley service (connection trolley) around downtown and Diamond Head. It was great fun to get on the trolley by Duke Kahanamoku's statue and stay on the trolley for the whole loop, going inside Diamond Head crater, and seeing the State Capital and Iolani Palace. There were two issues that were not so good at the hotel ....1. Some evenings they had live music and it was a bit loud and was hard to speak to the person opposite you.2. The hotel had a pool with approximately 70 sun beds, and everyday when we went to the pool usually about 2pm there were no sunbeds available, some of them had people on them but most of them had just towels on them, one day we did manage to get one sunbed to share, we were there for about 3 hours and noticed that although the beds had towels on them and clothing etc no-one came back to the beds until about 5pm and they picked up their towels and left. When we were having breakfast we watched people at 8am put their towels and bits on the beds then leave, by 9.15am all except 5 beds had towels on them and only 8 people in the area. I feel this is very unfair and selfish of people, and it was such a shame we couldn't spend time by the pool.
