Park Shore Waikiki
- What's Included
Year after year I do an annual girls trip to Honolulu and we stay here. Never been disappointed. You are so close to the beach you can actually lay in bed and hear the waves crash on the beach! All the amenities of Home -washer/dryerRefrigerator,stove and dishwasher! Wouldn’t go anywhere else and I do believe it’s one of the last Condos on the beach. Oh-and we stay in room 1018 -it was refurbished a couple year ago with a stack glass wall-feels like your right on the beach❤️❤️❤️
Castle Waikiki Shore On Wednesday, 12/20/17, at approx. 3PM, I drove in a rental car right up to the front door which was clear of Castle Waikiki Shores Condos . I am a disabled 70 year old widow and I was all alone. In a serious panic, I ran inside and pleaded with the Castle clerk that if I didn't get to a bathroom immediately, I would not make it. At the same time, this huge guy who had parked his truck in a loading zone but was not loading or unloading, came inside yelling at me "lady, you can't park there! You have to move the car now!" Later I learned he was the head of maintenance there. Despite my repeated pleas, the clerk refused me the use of a bathroom and told me to go next door to the Reef Outrigger and use their bathroom. I moved the car and attempted to make it to the bathroom next door in that resort but did not make it. I cleaned myself and my mess and had to remove my panties under my dress. When I returned to the front desk to check in, there was a new clerk, Kamakana (he and Rochelle are the best things about the place), and I told him what had happened. I heard Kamakana asking someone in the inner office if they had heard that. And that was it. No other action was taken in that regard. So I told Kamakana that I often contribute to Trip Advisor and Yelp. After checking in, I asked for help with my luggage as I have a broken back as well as other physical disabilities. I was refused any help. After struggling for about a half an hour within the area of the front door, this wonderful unit owner named Clarence and one of his workers saw me struggling and volunteered to help. Thank goodness they had no idea I no longer had any panties on.Castle resorts is well known in my experience to degrade, disgrace and disregard any need for assistance from the elderly or disabled.PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not give them another penny anywhere in the world.
I stayed in unit 902, on the ninth floor, and it was wonderful. It was a two bedroom-two-bathroom apartment with a huge amount of space and a magnificent view along Wakiki beach (facing away from Diamond Head). The kitchen was huge and well equipped with a gas hob, microwave, large fridge. There was a view from both bedroom and the lounge, with a huge balcony the length of the apartment where we watched sunset each evening. We overlooked a huge park filled with palm trees, with a skyline of tall buildings behind it. Our place was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and we were not over looked by anyone so it was very private. It felt like home. I only wish we'd had more time there. Many thanx.
We were lucky enough to stay in a corner suite with an ocean view and our apartment had recently been renovated to a very high standard. The kitchen was well appointed complete with a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. We had two separate bedrooms one with twin beds and one with a double plus a large king size bed in an alcove off the lounge. Wrap around decks made the most of the sun and the fantastic views. The only downside for us (and it is only small) is that you can’t check in on site or even at The Reef next door, you have to walk a couple of blocks away to The Regency. This also caused a bit of hassle with our luggage as the transfer buses pick up and drop at The Reef. There is also very limited on site parking so my recommendation would be to pre-book.
While the location is great - quiet, great views from ocean rooms, quiet beach access and brilliant view for the Hilton Friday night fireworks - there were some real disappointments. For the price (and charged cleaning fee) the room was not clean. Floors were filthy and no mop provided. Cockroaches were never ending, we went through a large can of bug spray during the stay. The drains had an awful smell and dishwasher was very dirty and also somehow full of cockroaches even after we ran a few cycles. Inside drawers and cupboards also full of dirt and crumbs, and bathroom was as bad.Our card was charged hundreds of dollars for a holding fee which we weren't advised of either. The arranged bedding arrangement (confirmed 3 times) was incorrect, as well as no blankets provided for the sofa bed
