From price to service and location, sheesh. Will definitely be making it back to the Sheraton. Merima, the guest experience manager, and Roger, our room-person, made the whole thing so seamlessly amazing. Thank you so much!
After flying from Australia to Hawaii for 6 nights, we splurged to stay at the "beachfront" Sheraton. I booked an ocean front room, requested a king or queen bed, got two very small twin beds, which my husband didn't fit in and although comfortable, was not what we asked. The lanai was cemented up (unlike other floors with "grills" on them to look out at the ocean view) and we had to stand to see the ocean, we couldn't sit and enjoy the view. The furniture on the lanai is uncomfortable anyway. You can't sit long there. The breakfast was disgusting for a hotel of this cost, expensive and terrible. We used to buy fruit and yoghurt at the ABC shop and eat it on the balcony. We never ate again at the Sheraton, the Rumfire is horrible, the Edge Bar is not nice, so don't bother. We ate at Dennys, California Pizza Kitchen, Maui Brewery Co and The Cheescake Shop, basically best thing the concierge did for us was give us a slip of paper and we didn't wait at the Cheesecake shop, that was appreciated! The two most expensive meals were at Roys (but was beautiful) and last night at Orchids at Halekaluni. I would prefer that hotel, it was divine. I have stayed at Hawaii before and I stayed at Hyatt and this has at least a beach access across the road, with nice water to swim in, the water in front of the Sheraton breaks onto a breakwall, no beach to walk along (unlike their website) and when you get to the beach either in front of Royal Hawaiian or Halekaluni, then the sand in the water is rocky, not just coral like the other end of Waikiki and terrible on your feet, plus the water is rough as it is open. I would much prefer the other end of Hawaii near the Duke's statue. Even the Outrigger is better than the Sheraton. I was totally disappointed in our time there, the room wasn't made up one day and the housekeeper virtually accused us of having our "do not disturb sign" on continuously and we didn't, we were out at a luau for 7 hours.....so it was poor service and the room itself was basic, very tired and old, the bathroom was disgustingly dirty with curtaining for shower and tiles had mould on them, they were cracked as well. Do yourself a favour do not go to this hotel if you are heading to Hawaii, its just not nice. I am a Starwood preferred guest and got treated like a leper. I think they cater to the Japanese and believe me, they are the main people in the infinity pool and you can't swim, it is wall to wall people. I hated the whole week, I wish we had never gone, it has soured my time at Hawaii, I loved my last two visits to Hawaii but this hotel spoilt it for us totally. The amount of money we spent on it, we should have been in heaven. The fact we were also charged an extra $34.55 a day for internet is just ridiculous, we got 2 free bottled water each day as well, big deal. It is a rip off. Its just not worth it to stay in this hotel, much better options down further.
Just left the moana surfrider waikiki, to come to the sheraton waikiki. Very different hotel much more commercial. Very comfortable Great room with a oceanview. But to big and everyone is rushed cause so many people. Prefered moana surfrider. Friendly and felt more comfortable.
This place is the best! You can do everything here as it is a resort. There is food, there are drinks, the beach is at your doorstep, the pools are amazing, the people are friendly. The list goes on! I have recommended this hotel to many people and they have also stayed here and loved it.100% would stay here again. Loved it!
It must be a confessed, i spent little time in my room because of all the fun we were having running around the island, Which is not to say anything against the hotel. Rather it is to say the opposite, for how little time i spent in it everything was perfect. Roger Deuz our House Person was wonderful and would recommend him to anyone. Next time i visit im going to ask for him again. Anything i asked for he procured it virtually immediately.
