Great location - FREEZING Pool!!

Really liked this hotel. Location is fantastic, rooms clean and spacious, views amazing. However the pool was FREEZING! Unbearably cold. My kids shivered and didn't enjoy it at all. I couldn't even get in it. What I thought would be a relaxing vacay by a pool with cocktail in hand was definitely not that! Spent the time shopping instead but it really was a disappointment. Rumfire is fabulous!

Hawaii visit 2016

Our " go to" hotel in Waikiki because of its location, excellent staff, and beautiful infinity pool! You can prebook your cabana at the pool , if you want. Rooms are quite plain and really nothing impressive but extremely comfy beds and pillows, very clean with great staff that are always right there if you need anything extra for your stay!! Can't wait for our next visit! We know what we will get!!Great service, great views!! Perfect!

Fantastic location!

I won a 1 night at an ocean view room and access to their lounge club in a raffle in Hawaii. We stayed at the preferred guest floor. The room was very clean and crisp. The views were breathtaking! The service was great! The lounge club is worth the visit (you need to pay for it), you have access to free continental breakfast, snacks and drinks all day and pupus and drinks in the evening that most look like dinner. Because it was my birthday, they gave me a gift voucher which consisted of picking up whatever I wanted from their gift shop. I got a robe. There was a night projections show in the pools at night that could be seen from our balcony. Fantastic! Their spa is worth worth visiting. We had a lomi-lomi couples massage and it was superb! The spa is very pretty! We also had lunch at their Japanese restaurant and the food arrived quick and it was delicious! They have other great restaurants that we didn t have a chance to try.The beach in front of the hotel is very nice and family friendly. Sandy and calm waters.Loved our stay! Highly recommend staying there to have a relaxing time in chaotic Honolulu/Waikiki.

My very first time here at this hotel.

I had a great time from the time I checked in til the time I checked out. Also the gentlemen at Front Desk was really nice and made my night. So thank you to everyone who made my 1 night stay feel like 2 nights. Aloha. Highly recommended!

Great location

The hotel was recently updated and sits at the center of Waikiki beach. We stayed in the Ohana suite which had two balconies, one with a postcard view of Diamondhead crater and the other facing west with open ocean. There was one king sized bed in a large family style studio that also has a full to queen size sofa bed and a day bed that two kids can roll around and loose themselves in their electronics. One of my kids also built his "cave" with the pillows and loved sleeping there every night. Then there is also a bedroom with two full sized beds with that balcony that faces Diamond Head. There is also a refrigerator which surprisingly kept everything cold and helped with snacks and meals. Go to the "ABC" general store that sells everything a short walking distance or across the valet parking area where you can stock up on water, drinks, snacks, toiletries, etc. The hotel market conveniently located by the elevators is at least double the price. I have three kids ages 9,11, and 16. They enjoyed the pool with a smaller but still fun water slide and swimming under and sitting behind a waterfall. It's perfect for kids around six and older. There is also the adults infinity pool. We were able to take our towels and walk to the beach only a few yards away. There is a sand bar that goes a couple hundred yards out and is waist to chest high depending on the tide with smaller to medium size waves that were great for their age and skill level-beginner. The kids bounced back and forth between building sand castles, boogie boarding, and swimming in the pool. This saved a lot on pricey adventures. The International Market Place is walking distance and has many reastaurants and stores. There are also Lamborghini, ferraris, and other high end vehicles to rent. The Eating Place is a more casual but outstanding restaurant by Roy Yamaguchi who is the chef for the infamous Roys restaurants and is located there along with other trendy and classic dining places. There is a Denny's nearby when you just want a typical breakfast which I thought I'd never agree which my kids loved. Down towards Fort Derussy, which is a walk along the beach, west, there is a guy that will take great photos of you with at least five parrots, affordable kayak rentals, and a fireworks show on the beach every Friday night. Once you are at the Sheraton you really don't need a car except for excursions. However, there's plenty to do. We had done the Arizona, USS Missouri, air museum, and submarine tours before, so we opted for a more local adventure. We went on waterfall hikes. Check the internet. There are plenty. But for these guys we added DEET for the many mosquitos and did shorter hikes like Manoa waterfall, Kapena, and the easier and no mosquito but outrageous views of the 0.8 mile Diamond Head Crater hike. Go in the afternoon since all the tours go in the morning till noon. If the lot is full, you can wait after the entry booth for a few minutes while reviewing the map and literature. It's $5 to park. The hike itself ascends around 600ft with many short switchbacks. There is a tunnel and a cool metal spiral staircase after around 99 steps up another set of stairs at the top. There are railings on all the stairs. Bring a camera that can take a panoramic photo. We also loved the Polynesian Cultural Center where you can learn more pacific islands history no be exposed to the different cultures. Each island has hands on activities for you and the kids. There is also a dinner and show afterwards. My kids enjoyed fishing, making fish out of coconut leaves, playing a ukulele, drums, paddling a canoe, trying and I mean trying to make fire with two sticks and of course getting native tattoos. Hanauma Bay is also a great place to snorkel. It's a fish sanctuary. In sum, the Sheraton was a great home base to play and adventure. Utilize the ABC stores for necessities that will make things much cheaper. Enjoy the sunsets and sunrises on the beach. And when you sleep, having the balcony doors open hearing the waves is priceless. Last and not least, the Sheraton staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. Good Hawaiian aloha.
