Champions World Resort
- What's Included
OverviewFamily oriented Motor Inn with popular guest room amenities; located four miles from Disney World.
We were just looking for a place to crash after those long park days. We needed in between Winter Haven and Disney Springs and we found this place. Super friendly front desk personnel, fast check in, clean rooms that show obvious work to update and old structure. Quiet, very accessible, I didn't try the pools (3, all heated) because I was exhausted. If you are looking for an affordable, clean and quiet place, this is the one. If you also want customer service and beautiful smiles at the desk, ask for Melany.I would have given it 4 1/2 stars just because breakfast is not included, but I might be too demanding. You can always have a decent breakfast for $10 at the hotel's restaurant.
We come to this resort several times a year when we visit Disney. This visit was especially great because when I told the young lady at the desk I had a baby and would really appreciate a room on the first floor she upgraded us to a suite so that I wouldn't be inconvenienced and so that we would be more comfortable. She was a new employee that was training and I was so grateful to have been helped by her. So many places lack people who go the extra mile. Not this hotel. I was also helped by Dania and Steph when I wanted to extend my stay by an extra day. They made this process easy for me and were very kind. We will definitely continue coming here and if you need an economical clean place tostay I would consider staying here too.
After reading so many poor reviews i was worried about my room here. I am writing this review to let people know my experience was actually good. When i first entered my room it did have a strong cleaning product smell however i stayed for 2 nights and did not notice any bad odor it was trying to "cover up". My room, sheets, and bathroom were very clean. Dated but clean. The culk around tub needed to be redone but other than that it was very bright and white in bathroom. My boyfriend and I loved the nature trail and ponds in the back. I noticed a playground, volleyball net, soccer and baseball field, basketball nets, 3 pools with music, a playground and game room. If we had little kids these would have been amenities we would have used and enjoyed. There was a tiki bar at a pool that i would have enjoyed if it was open. The grounds of the premises were clean. We had some drinks and dinner in the lounge. Jesus was our bartender and waiter. His hospitality was amazing and is a great asset to the resort. For dinner my boyfriend had the French dip with fries and I had the strawberry salad. Both were delicious and surprisingly low price. I was not expecting great quality food with a low price in a hotel but was pleasantly surprised! Some things I was not happy with:The bed, it was very uncomfortable and squeaky. I am glad I only stayed for 2 nights sleeping on that bed. The pillows were no good too and on the 2nd night I had to dig my pillow out of the car which helped that night. The bar did not have my favorite wine, sauvignon blanc :(We were in building A which felt more like a side of the road hotel rather than a resort. But the place is big and I am sure all the other rooms were used and someone has to stay there!Chairs and maybe a table with ashtrays outside the room would have been great.Like I mentioned earlier the rooms and front doors are very dated and could use some fresh paint & updating. Overall I think this resort would be great for families on a budget with little kids. Free shuttles to Disney! This place is cheap and not at all a dive.I would recommend it and I would stay again.
This hotel is no more than your regular 2 star hotel as far as rooms are concerned. They do have 2 ponds, pools, kids play area and a baseball field in the back. However everything is dirty or not working. I used laundry - dryer took my money but did not do anything. Breakfast is paid. Internet is very spotty. Mostly fails. Toilet did not flush so I fixed it. But the service lady broke it again next day. TV was smallest and lowest quality. This place is close to attractions and one of the cheapest. Other guests were mostly family people and did not cause any trouble.
During our week in Orlando, we stayed at the Champions World Resort. It was conveniently located on Irlo Bronson Drive. There is about everything you could think of nearby - food, putt - putt golf, Target, Publix Grocery Store. It is very close to the Disney Parks (about 20 minutes). There were three heated pools that we didn't have a chance to use due to time and weather in the winter, but seemed very nice. In the back of the property was a wonderful area with 2 baseball practice fields, sand volleyball courts, large soccer fields, basketball courts and a lovely wooded nature area with ponds with fire pits and places to wander around and walk quietly in the middle of a busy town. We had a nice stay. The room was always very clean, the staff was very polite and helpful. It was what we needed for a good price. You will find an older motel with tile floors instead of carpeting but it met our needs. Cable TV, fridge, and microwave were in the room, too. We would stay there again. If you are looking for a fancy resort, this may not meet your needs, but if you are looking for something reasonably priced with nice surroundings, you'll enjoy this property.
