I am just back from a 2 week vacation and have to say left feeling very satisfied. Other than the value there were a number of points that stood out for us here. Clean indoor and outdoor pools. They place was immaculate and you could hear as well as see the cleaning that went into the pool each day. The reception were great. Checking in was easy but most so, we made a mistake on morning 1 believing there was 2 separate shuttles - 1 for Disney, 1 for universal. We let the first one go and perhaps this could be better communicated. However the hotel more than redeemed themselves with a private transfer! The bar. We often were in from parks late. Twice he stayed open beyond closing just to let my wife and I have a drink. There are films on a giant screen each night in the dark for the kids. I enjoyed cars haha. With 2 outdoor pools the overall experience could be enhanced by opening the bar which wasn't open when I was there. The 7-11 is close, with the shuttle service and a wide selection of restaurants, this location in perfect. Pizza Hut. Subway. 2 Chinese and an ItalianThe rooms are a little dated and could do with some TLC but the overall value makes this less important for me. Good work.
My husband & I spent two months at this resort in the Winter of 2017. Happy to get out of the Michigan cold. We were very happy with the place. Very good value. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your reservation. Jesus, Doris, and Xavier the wait staff at the breakfast buffet were very friendly. They greeted us every morning and made us feel at home.Carl the head chef was very personable. The breakfast buffet was spectacular! fresh! and delicious! So much hot food to choose from and a great variety of fresh fruit. We ate in the restaurant for dinner a few times and the food was very delicious and reasonable. The grounds were meticulously trimmed and clean. With a very beautiful garden area. The rooms are spacious and clean. Yalitza was our cleaning lady. She kept our room clean and welcoming. They have three separate pools one totally covered out of the sun where they have activities for children and movies every night and two other pools, one with a seasonal tiki bar. Sharon is the Front desk manager and she does an amazing job despite the busy hectic days she has. And I also must mention the head maintenance worker. I don't remember his name but he was very helpful anytime we needed him. Even the time we flew our drone into the locked basketball court. He was quick to come with the keys. Last but certainly not least we have to mention Dalton the hotel general manager. He does an amazing job and his attention to detail is second to none. As I mentioned we spent two months at this resort. It was our winter home. We had plenty of opportunity to observe our surroundings and the way the staff interacted with the guests. Yes we had a very positive experience at Champions World Resort and hope to return again winter of 2018. If you are not looking for new and fancy I think you would be very happy at this resort.
Just got home so I better write my review before my mind blocks out the stay at this hotel.I booked the hotel last minute since we decided to stay a night in Orlando before flying home. The hotel is a bit out of the way but is pretty convenient if you are going to Disney (which we were not). The hotel is laid out in old fashion two story motel fashion which means the buildings are spaced out pretty far from each other. We got the far back building which was fine for the 1 night. Hotel is room is very basic but clean and the facilities looked well maintained.Check in was a little rough since they mistakenly tried to charge me even though I booked the hotel thru Orbitz. Took 10 minutes to get it cleared up but the upgraded me to full breakfast so I was fine with the mistake.Got back to the room at around 10:30 after being out at dinner and a show and the room was cool which meant a good AC (97 degrees in Orlando that day). There was a group of people two doors down making some noise but two door away is usually plenty of distance. Well not if the party becomes violent and people start shouting in the parking lot at 2:30AM!! My wife calls the front to complain and they say the cops have been called and they are taking care of it. Fight continues for a hour until the cops show up and finally get things sorted out. We fly out in the morning and the hotel allows a fight to continue from 2:00 - 3:30AM in the morning.I tell the front desk that I'm completely disappointed in the way things were handled and they were not able to get things taken care of quicker with security and she says the matter has been addressed since the family has been kicked off the property. Doesn't help me one bit. I gave them 2 stars since they did call the cops and it really wasn't their fault the people were acting like crazies but a good night sleep is all I expect from a hotel and they failed miserably. Breakfast buffet was basic but good and check out was quick but I know I'll pay a bit more and avoid this place in the future. I'd avoid it if I was you unless you love huge family gatherings, huge groups that can be nice neighbors or like in my case world class losers.
I don't have time to check the resort nor its facility, I had a very busy week in Orlando do shopping and visiting Universal. However, I noticed housekeeping work, that was good. There were lots of phases of buildings, there are A, B & C near the main building fo front desk, there phases D, E are far away on the other side from the street, but still have a pool there. They have -as per the receptionist- BBQ area and playground for tennis and football & a gym room. The room is old, without carpet on the ground, small TV, old AC, and light lights.Resort location is good, there is Super Target store after 1 mile, and another Wallmart in the other side of the highway. lots of gifts shops around and a bunch of junk food restaurants. Also, can't forget to mention the Asian restaurant on the opposite side of the road, where you can (all you can eat) with 7 bucks for lunch and 11 for dinner :DDesiny lands is quite near as well ;)
