Holiday Inn Orlando SW Celebration Area
- What's Included
Walking into this hotel, made me hesitant to stay. Aesthetics in lobby were a little questionable. I know this isn't the Ritz, but.... Renovation is needed. Then, Hotel staff was great!.....room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom clean. Except for the tiny ants crawling on dresser and desk (a Florida thing?), the only problem with the room was the carpet. Needs replacing. The main issue - a major renovation is overdue for this property. Just walking to the room, you can feel the age creeping down the hall. The condition of the hall carpet was frightful. Even the door handles to the rooms look like they have been around since before Disney was built. I am sorry to even mention the cons since the room was fine and the people awesome. But really, the name Holiday Inn is out front. I would have expected a no name, motel, yes. Holiday Inn, no. I feel families coming to Disney deserve better from Intercontinental.
We booked the room on Priceline for about $65 a night. There is also a $15-$17 per night “resort” fee. It is definitely not a resort hotel. Very out dated. The rooms were okay. We had a queen bed and 2 bunk beds which did work well for us and the bathroom was large and clean as well. Kids do eat free at breakfast so a family of 4 can easily eat for about $20. It’s not the greatest breakfast but it will do if your on a budget. Pretty close about 15 min from each of the Disney parks and plenty of dining nearby. Not the nicest place we’ve stayed but it served our purpose.
Left our house as Irma approached and selected this hotel because it had a back up generator for even the rooms. Prior to arrival of Irma they served a wonderful hot buffet breakfast and our room was pleasant. The morning after Irma, they could only serve Danish, but they quickly dried the ground floor from wind blown water. Overall, I appreciated they efforts to keep us safe and comfortable throughout this terrible ordeal.
We stayed here for 4 nights, the room was nice and clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was a little dated but clean and fully functional. The front desk staff were really helpful and incredibly friendly. A shout out to Dana who was the sweetest receptionist I've ever met, very friendly and goes the extra mile to help you out. This hotel is close to a lot of restaurants (Chili's and Cracker Barrel are just over a mile down the street) and there are a lot of souvenir shops nearby and a McDonald's right next door if you want something quick.I have no complaints, this hotel was nice and the shuttle that goes to Epcot is convenient as well. The elevators were malfunctioning but there was always at least one elevator that worked. There is an outdoor pool as well but we didn't have time to check it out, it looked nice though.
Rooms are in good condition, once you get in them. Overall the hotel needs a restoration from inside to out. Outside-old, falling apart, guys in parking lot at night hanging out drinking beer on 5 gal buckets next to cars with cans all over the place. Carpeting looks 15+ years old and stained and wore out. Out of 3 elevators only 1 works and no ETA to fix the others. Smells in hallways and elevator. Old furniture with scratches in hallways, broken tiles on floors, walls need painted, I could go on and on....but overall just dont waste your time unless you get the room for less than $50 per night, then you would be getting what you paid for!
