Holiday Inn Orlando SW Celebration Area
- What's Included
From the beginning I was a little skeptical to stay here based on reviews... I stayed here years ago numerous times when it was still Travelodge and it was a bit rundown but since the remodel a lot has changed for the better. Nice lobby area and very welcoming staff. We arrived quite late in the evening and I figured they would just throw us anywhere, however the manager who checked us in was very kind. Plans happened to change and I brought my son along after already booking a single room for my boyfriend and the manager placed me in a room that had a queen bed and bunk bed area for kids with a separation area for some small sense of privacy all at no additional charge. I enjoyed the view of the Irlo Bronson Highway which overlooked Old Town. But as mentioned in prior reviews it does get pretty loud in those rooms due to the highway and attraction traffic, with me being a city girl noise doesn't bother me I'm in it more for the views. We used the pool area and that was quite nice; they have two pools one that goes from 3ft-8ft, one that is 1.5 feet I'm guess for baby's or little kids & a hot tub & best part of all is the pool area is open until 11pm each night. They have clean laundry facilities as well. Now on to some things that disappointed me.. The rooms that overlook Irlo Bronson Highway do not have operating balconys as the rest of the rooms do so you get a view but no balcony, the housekeepers never seemed to have enough wash cloths available so when we arrived and wanted to shower there was nothing to wash with but over sized hand towels and not even enough for the amount of people the room holds they only left two and therefore I had to go request more for my son to use & the next day after coming from the parks and room had been cleaned we had the same issue. Also my God they have the tiniest bathrooms imaginable, I mean the toilet is nearly connected to the tub. The restaurant is open from only 630am-1030am & then 5pm-11pm so any late sleepers you must go else where for food. Overall I would stay here again. Price and location was awesome, Disney shuttles for free & kids eat free if they are 12 & under and atleast one adult purchases a meal. So overall this place will save you oodles of money. Hope this helps anyone looking for a budget friendly family hotel.
We took a little trip over to see the Rodeo in Orlando and when we arrived at the hotel the check in line was as long as a Vegas hotel. Not surprising though, it is Disney territory. Front reception was very friendly and we proceeded to our room only to find the key card was inop. So we trucked back down and had new keys made, they didn't work. Back down for a third set and woohoo they worked. Went to the Rodeo and when we returned...yep, key cards didn't work. New keys made again at front desk and we were in. Here's the issue...11:44pm, someone (a family), had key card to our room which worked! Luckily, we had the latch flipped and they were unable to enter into the room. We got dressed and found a family just trying to get into a room for the night. We attempted contacting the front desk to no avail and went back to sleep. At 12:45am we had a knock and found a young man whom said he needed to clean the room! Kind of funny, but not so funny too. I can only say this hotel is in need of training for assigning key cards and learning how to make assigned key cards work. Too bad, because, the place has potential!
Our U15 soccer team just stayed at this hotel for the weekend and the whole stay went off with very few hitches. We had one room out of the 10 we booked that was not made up when we arrived. We contacted the front desk and they immediately switched us into a different room. The hotel is not brand new for sure but it is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great and I was surprised how many healthy choices there were. The fitness room was clean and all the equipment I used was in working order except the first treadmill, which sounded like it was needing work. I just went to another one and it worked fine. This is a version busy hotel but the staff are excellent. I would recommend to anyone, especially those with kids.
This hotel was good for the price. Pros - rooms clean/plenty of room, nice pool, close location to Disney, plenty of restaurants nearby. Most of the staff was super nice.Con- front desk person, Nashali, was very rude. I arrived in the morning and asked if I could check in early whenever my room was available. I wasn't expecting it right away but she was so rude and said you will have to wait until 3pm like everyone else. I had an important conf. call to take and had to take it in the noisy business center.
Upon arrival, my room was not ready. I had to sit in the lobby and wait for over 30 minutes. What I finally did get into my room, there was a very loud annoying beeping coming from somewhere. Multiple times I called the front desk to report it, and nobody picked up the phone. I ended up having to walk down there and reported in person. Upon which time, they move me to floors up.After I got settled into the new room, the same annoying beep was happening in that room also. At approximately 10:30 p.m. I had to move again. As I was unable to sleep because of this.I was also very unhappy that they did not have a lot of TV stations available. And what they did have I was not interested inAbout the only positive thing I can say is that the air conditioning work very good and the room was clean. But I will not be going back here
