Our favourite hotel but ownership changed and where is the management? Tower 1 has 2 lifts out of 3 not working.Stuff floating in the pool.Room not cleaned until near 5pm.Staff in bar who don't know what Merlot is.Bored miserable staff in restaurant.Sort it new owners and quick
I called this evening to make a reservation only to find out some of the key people that we have enjoyed during our many visits to this hotel are no longer at the hotel. Good staff that has great customer service skills is hard to find not just at guest services, but in other areas as well. I know that I was most upset to hear that the bar tender Kristin was replaced during this transition. When you travel for business, and want to relax at the end of a long day it is great to have a bar at the hotel with a Bar Tender that remembers you name from months ago, and asks how you are doing. She will be greatly missed, and now we have to find a new hotel! It is a shame that in the change of management they have let go of so many great people.
I needed a night and this suited. The room was fine, adequately equipped but dark, tired and noisy air con. Ate in the bar which was ok, high carb meal (!) good choice of beers and nice staff. Breakfast was pretty poor in a drab soulless room. It was just ok. When I booked it the headline price was $100 but taxes added $50 - poor value. Its generally what you come to expect and many of these hotels need an upgrade - or a drop in prices.
Stayed in a family suite. Small room. Bunk bed was not stable, frame kept moving. I was afraid the bed was going to break while my kids were sleeping. Room was not well cleaned. There was dust in many places. Seating is poor. Only 1 chair. Noisy A/C. Window/Balcony door is not sealed. Could hear all the traffic from US192. No free breakfast. Limited parking. For $90 reservation a month in advance can't complain, but then ask to stay an extra night and the rate was $140+tax+fees for a $160/ngt? Not worthy. There are better deals around. Got a better deal at another hotel for a total of $130-QSLBV, kitchen, 5 star reviews, bigger room, free bkfst, cleaner room.
We checked in around 11pm, upon check in we requested a crib for our infant son. We were told it would be delivered to our room "shortly". I waited an hour and a half and and the crib never arrived. I then called the front desk to inquire about the crib and I was told the crib would be right up. I waited up a while longer and soon realized no one was coming with a crib. I ended up taking the bedding off one of the bunk beds and making a bed for my son on the floor.*Note: I would have been fine if they told me there was no crib available, but waiting up all night for a crib after a long day of travelling was very tiring and annoying. The next day I went to the desk and asked about the crib. The person at the desk was very kind and told me he would make sure a crib got sent to my room right away. A lady knocked on my door to tell me there was no crib available but she would bring one to our room as soon as one was available, she was very nice. We went out for a couple hours, when we came back she had the crib in our room with a note.Hotel was clean, and staff were nice. We stayed here for 8 nights. The thing I was most impressed with was the pool. Great sized pool, also had a large shallow kid pool which I really enjoyed since we were travelling with an infant, had a spa pool as well. Lots of chairs to sit on or lay on. Some tables with umbrellas for shade, fantastic.Room had a mini fridge which proved to be very useful. Also had a mini safe, but it was broken so we took passports and valuables with us where ever we went. They have a Pizza Hut on site, I ordered a pasta there and waited forever, despite being the only physical customer there (I don't know if they had any orders people phoned in from rooms that they were working on or not). When I was walking back and forth waiting the lady asked me what I was waiting for and informed her I was waiting on the pasta I ordered a while ago. I could see by her look of surprise that she forgot my order and watched her make my pasta quickly in front of me and put it in the oven. That's fine, I was in no hurry, but a simple apology would have been nice. There is a Pizza Hut directly across the street from this hotel, we ordered from there 3 times and each time it was faster than the time I ordered from the one in the hotel.Wifi is password protected, the password is on your room key. The internet stopped working while we were there and I called the desk, turns out the password on room key changed and the one we had was no longer valid.Lots of parking during the day, not enough during the night. Lots of people were parking on the grass some evenings.Overall it's a nice hotel with a great pool and we would stay here again for sure.
