Radisson Resort Orlando Celebration
- What's Included
So this is a little long winded.. But after reading I'm hoping you won't need another review and I can settle your minds as to what you really get for your money at the Radisson Celebration resort.. I'm currently lay on a bed in The Radisson Celebration, and me and my Girlfriend are almost 1 week into our 2 week stay..We chose Radisson celebration through Virgin Atlantic. It wasn't our first choice, we were looking at the most affordable Package available. We had 2 other Hotels in mind, which are nearby. After reading certain reviews, we opted to pay a little more for this hotel. The reviews were a little mixed, and Sod's law we came across a few bad ones just as we had booked and paid for the Radisson. People were complaining about rude staff, uncleanliness and uncomfortable beds.. I'm writing this as honest as I can.. The Radisson Celebration, on arrival is a beautiful building. Clean on the outside, huge pool area (one heated, one not) and throughout the lobby area again is beautiful and spotless. At first glance, this alone wasn't off 5 star. The service we have received has been remarkable. The front desk were brilliant on arrival, asking if we'd prefer to be on a high or low level. We chose high ourselves in hope of a decent view and a little more security. The view is just over the pool area and is perfect. A shame that the hotel doesn't have balconies as this would have been such a brilliant little over look. We brought out bags in ourselves. With nothing less than a 50 note I was quite relieved, knowing how the tip system works in the US! But was very easy to find our room. The hallways are a little dated, although comparing most buildings in the US these past days, there's definitely a difference between the US and the U.K. (US seems to carpet everywhere! The Malls and stations caught me by surprise!) so initially I did think this was in need of a little make over, although now I don't think they're so far behind after seeing the rest of the City. The rooms - large, 2 king sized beds (which are extremely comfortable may I add!).. The only thing I can complain about here is not getting any spoons with my missus the whole time as she enjoys her own bed so much! Rooms come with large TV with many channels and a large Fridge. 2 small bottles of water are placed above the fridge when cleaned which is a nice touch. New bedding every couple of days and are made EXTREMELY tight, although not a complaint at all! The bathrooms, just like the bedrooms could do with a little make over, although both cleaned daily, new towels and toilet rolls etc. The resort has an onsite Pizza Hut, Starbucks and a small sports bar which we are yet to use, although if the service is like to what we have already encountered, is of very good standard. The Pizza Hut is linked with the hotels own take out, (try the boneless Chipotle chicken wings, oh my life!).. They also have a restaurant on site which is usually quiet, again we have yet to try. They have a laundry service which is quite pricey, roughly $4 -$5 per t shirt. Less than a 5 minute walk away there is a steak house, an Italian and a Japanese restaurant which are quite fancy pants. Shirt and pants kind of eatery. A little further on there's a Wendy's, Subway and just over the road is another retail park with a few more restaurants such as Applebee's, Chipotle and Dunkin Donuts to name a few, all of which have brilliant service levels (yes, we have ate out a few times!). There is also a supermarket and a couple of Liquor stores which are dirt cheap. (1.5 LITRES of Morgan Spiced for $21!!) (a huge bottle!).. And a Nike outlet too!The busses from Radisson to Disney and Universal are everyday. Returning back to the hotel there's 3 busses from Disney Epcot.. 1730, 2030 and a later bus at roughly 2230. (The morning bus drops you off at Epcot, from there there's a different bus/ metro to whichever park you desire). From Universal, the returning bus is at 1945, which can be a pain as this end up being a long day in the sun. As a lad from Manchester, I can't do 12 hours strong in the sun! Returning Taxi costs $25 from Disney and $30 from Universal. The busses are free, although they do ask for a $1 tip per person. Seems quite rude not to tip in the US, and for the full trip obviously doesn't burn a hole in the pocket. We have came over for Wrestlemania, so making friends with the taxi drivers has been a must for us as we are going to be going out the way a few times over the next coming weekend. This has been quite easy as the drivers are more than happy for the work. All in all- the place is clean, friendly and perfect location with everything around you within a 5-10 minute walk. Easily get to the parks and not a fortune if you want to cut the day short and come back to a clean pool / comfy bed. Everyone greets you with a smile and a hello. We'll be coming back to Orlando in a couple years, and unless we win the lottery between then and now, we'll be back at Radisson and we'll be booking it knowing that we'll be in good hands. Sorry for the long winded dribble, time for me to get some kip in my own comfortable, king sized!!Book the Radisson Celebration!!
It looks like you started renovations but very cosmetic... the toilet tank had the wrong lid. The hair dryer was sending electrical current into my hand and shorting out. The staff swiftly got me a new hair dryer but seriously why is this even still on the wall it looked like it was from the 70's.Also visible rust.Do like the size of the refrigerator! New furniture was nice. It truly was disheartening that the slide pool was the cold water pool! Totally not worth the $25 "resort fee"It was fine for what we needed it to be.Also the Club Carlson gift at welcome was nice as well as the bottled waters.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel after reading all the terrible reviews about it. The rooms were clean, did not smell, did not have bugs and the staff was very friendly. The overall look of the hotel was not dirty or dreary, in fact i found it to be the complete opposite. I am not sure where the people stayed to have such awful reviews. They are not true. The hotel is very worth the price. I wish they had a free complimentary breakfast like most hotels, but i guess you can't have everything. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area.
Radisson Celebration is a good hotel, but they have many problems to be at time with the guest needs. They have many issues to fix. They don´t like a Radisson hotel The location is great for events, purchases and family time because is close of almost everything. My purpose was at the beginning for business and I decided to stay the weekend for tourism, but the experience was poor.
Visited relatives staying in the area. We were able to book a room on line with ease and convenience. Check in and check out were quickly and efficiently. Rooms are spacious and bed are comfortable. I would recommend staying here.
