Definitely when you arrive you think "Wow this place is amazing!" and for the price I paid, I was really impressed. I expected the timeshare hard sell (Even though I booked through Hotels.com) because I've stayed at similar resorts when visiting orlando. Luckily they didn't sell me too hard and allowed me to "escape" and settle into my room. First impression is really beautiful. We stayed in the one bedroom suite. Kitchen was really nice and lots of windows and light. Comfortable couch and chairs with flat screen tv. Big dining room table. Lots of open space, really really great! However my biggest complaint was the bed. It was not comfortable at all. Also the decor of the bedroom is seriously outdated. It felt old, musty and dirty. The fitted sheet was too small for the mattress, therefore exposing the mattress and on the brink of coming off the entire stay. The bed made so much noise! It kept me and my kids up throughout the night. For me, a comfortable bed is absolutely most important so I wouldn't stay here again, solely for that reason. A few other complaints are that the bathroom and tile was a little dirty and uprooting from the floor. And although the timeshare sell wasn't too intense, I would still probably avoid booking here again because I find the whole ordeal extremely annoying and pushy.
We booked a guest certificate through a friend and after careful review of the website and accommodations thought we were getting a one bedroom w a full kitchen and king bed with a balcony. We got a mini suite w a limited kitchen in the 19 building. Very disappointed -definitely misleading! My husband has severe gluten allergies which makes eating out very challenging and our priority was a full kitchen- well this was far from it - no oven/a mini fridge/ 2 burners...very limited cookware ... no knives...unit is very dated, 2 double beds, very dated bathroom. We had a second week booked here and I spent the first 2 hours at the resort attempting to cancel the second week. Richard at interval was helpful to confirm a 1 bedroom -full kitchen in Daytona for the second week- we will review that after we check in... but nothing in Orlando.Friends stayed in a one bedroom in 24 building and it was great...,but if you get an A unit and in 19 building...not what is promoted- buyer beware....would NOT buy timeshare from a place that is so deceptive in their promotions-beware!
We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite last Saturday at Star Island. It was a beautiful resort with nice pools and many things to do. We had a good time and would recommend this property to everyone. Our room was beautiful with comfortable furniture and a nice kitchen. We especially enjoyed the Jacuzzi.
Generally pleased with accomodation. Local on site entertainment dated. Not a young crowds Resort. Onsite grocery store very limoted. Coffee supplied for coffee machines awful.Do not understand why salt and peppet not a standard item in kitchen.
we stayed at Star Island Resort for a week and had a wonderful time. It is centrally located to the highways and also to WDW and the parks. Rooms were spacious and very clean. Only set back is not enough parking near each building so if out for the day, you could be parking a few buildings away.
