Decent place...but weird rules

Ive used many timeshare weeks over the year, but have never encountered this....You only can get one towel exchange for the whole week! They don't do a mid-week clean. If you want the tidy service, you pay $21.00 and up!!The thermostat wouldn't go below 70.We stayed in building 18, and there is no outside space or anything so drying your bathing suit is impossible. The pool needed some shock or something, as it is looking quite merkyOur stay was great because we made the best of it.

Not accommodating

I booked my rooms several months in advance. After booking I called several times to let them know of several request one being I needed low floors and my rooms together being I was traveling with family one room had a disabled person in a wheelchair and another person older on a cane. I even emailed the person whom I originally booked with. Get there I got one room on the first floor, was told the second room was on the second floor until we get to the room and it was on the fourth, the third room was in a totally different building. Now I know requests are not guaranteed however under the circumstances they could have been more accommodating. I was even offered a discount or anything for a future stsy with them, which was not good customer service at all.

Close to all major attractions

CLOSE TO ALL MAJOR ATTRACTIONS, lots of activities for all ages, including Karaoke 4 nights a week, putt putt, 2 pools, game arcade and workout room, tennis courts and golf range. Drinks were a little expensive over $11 PER DRINK, you can purchase a souvenir cup by paying $5 MORE then all refills are $3 less, no working ice machine on ground floor of our building #23, but contacted front desk and they brought a bag of ice to our room in about 1/2 hour. One of our favorite resorts.

Excellent! My family and I love Star Island. We especially love the activities that are on site. Everyone is always friendly and very helpful. Basically that is all that I had to say. I think Star Island will always be one of my favorite places to vacation.

Family Vacation

We stayed at Star Island as they are part of the Wyndham family and we are owners. We have typically stayed at the Bonnet Creek in Lake Buena Vista but were on a budget vacation this year so decided to stay at Star Island. We travel every summer to Florida from Wisconsin. We stayed for 7 nights/8 days in this July this summer and enjoyed our stay. The resort is condo style so all the luxuries of home are in the rooms. We had a 2 bedroom (building 25 room 2545) with a balcony. It faces the pool, tennis courts, mini golf and play ground. We had plenty of room for my husband and 2 children. The rooms are separated so that make great since if multiple couples were sharing this room. As I have older children/teenager we loved the privacy of the rooms being far apart. We ate all our breakfast and late night snacks in the room as we were typically away at the parks for lunch and dinner. We were able to make big breakfast spreads to hold us over until lunch time. There is a Publix, Walmart and Super Target all near by to purchase groceries. We did our shopping at Super Target as we go into Florida from Wisconsin a bit early. We got to the resort at 2pm and was hoping our room was available early as we just drove for 20 hours and in the car for 28 hours total. But it wasn't so we did a early registration and they said they would text us when the room was available. We took our time shopping for food and things we forgot to pack like laundry soap( for the en suite washer and dryer). We a few minutes from check out and we got our courtesy text from the resort. It was 3:30 pm and we were back at the resort getting our keys and in our room with all our groceries and lounge by 4pm. The first night we were a little tired so took advantage of the pool as it was 90 degrees out. We ordered food from the store/ restaurant that is outside the pool. My husband had a very juicy burger, my son had a grilled chicken warp, my daughter had chicken tenders and I had a tuna wrap and all had fries. We waited a bit for the food but they made everything to order so it was worth the wait. It was so good! We ate there twice during our 8 day stay. The furniture was a bit dated but not real bad, the two chairs and couch in the living room was not comfortable at all. We tried to watch a movie one rainy night as a family and that was pretty uncomfortable. My family defiantly prefers the amenities at the Bonnet Creek but it is a bit pricy but if your looking for a great resorts that is not as busy, has 2 nice pools and still close to the parks, then defiantly try Star Island in Kissimmee. We are coming back as soon as we can.
