A two week visit to Halii Kai 12D

It is easy to see why all the reviews on this property are five stars. I stayed here with a girl friend and the visit was beyond our expectations. The condo is spotless with comfortable beds and pillows, a patio that lets you watch the world go by, eat or read and enjoy the quiet. Even though this end condo is by the pool we could not hear any noise coming from there. It is convenient to the bar and restaurant, golf course for watching the sunsets or going to the open air gym in the early mornings. It was never so easy to put in the miles while watching for dolphins or flying fish. It was not whale season but I cant imagine what you would see then!It would never be necessary to leave the complex as everything you need is here butother restaurants, shops and stores are near by. It is a short drive to Hapuna or Mauna Kea beaches if you want to go snorkling. The condo is will supplied with beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkling equipment, etc. One morning someone from the mgmt co inquired if there was anything that we needed. We both agreed we would come back here in a heart beat.

Nice condos but poorly managed.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in one of the condos. We liked the condo and the property. It was a bonus to be able to watch sunset from the golf course next door. However, poor management scheduled construction (removal and installation of new floors) on the condo directly above us. We were unable to enjoy the space that we had already paid for(last 4 days). The facilities managers could not do anything for us other than call the owner (which I also did... unsuccessfully). We were greatly surprised by this and very disappointing. Don't spend your money here without a guaranteed that you will not be disturbed by someone pounding pounding your ceiling and shaking your walls 7:00 am - Evening. We did't even get an apology as we checked out. Still was a nice honeymoon!

Exquisite condo community

Beautifully maintained condo community at Waikoloa Beach Resort. We stayed in an ocean/golf course view unit and we're very pleased. The community pool and "ocean club" is VERY VERY NICE. Much better than any condo pool I've ever seen. Ocean front location, restaurant/bar and fitness center. Unexpected surprise. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed here over the Christmas Holiday and it was a perfect place for my family. I just finished an around the world backpack trip and was so excited to meet my family in Hawaii. We all agreed this was a beautiful location, with friendly staff, and a perfect place to share a place and celebrate the holidays. The condo we stayed in was just perfect for our party of 7, with three bedrooms, three baths, and a full kitchen, it helped offset some the more expensive costs of the island. The balcony looked out over the golf course and it was the perfect place to have your morning coffee and be serenaded by pretty little birds, and occasionally see the feral island cats! The pool/clubhouse/gym area was just perfect, we found ourselves lounging at the pool every afternoon after a day of exploring, and meeting some really friendly guests and owners. The food at the pool bar wasn't too bad either. You are very close to the King and Queen shopping center, which has restaurants, groceries, and shops. It was a great location for many different day trips, and really not that far away from anything. From watching whales right from the pool, to getting to explore the volcanoes 2 hours away, it was just perfect! Highly recommend staying here with family and friends for a lovely island getaway! We plan on staying here again on our trip back.

Fantastic Waikoloa Option!

I've literally stayed in Waikoloa/Mauna Lani area every year for over 15 years but this was a first. Halii Kai is a great "new" gem that I didn't know about until this year and I've already stayed twice in 3 months. Once as a family and once as friend golf outing so 2 perspectives.#1 - only condo I know of in the area with ocean front pool AND restaurant/bar#2 - super easy going atmosphere + amenities without the crowd #3 - spacious 2-3 bedroom options with extremely easy access#4 - did I mention the oceanfront pool / bar / exercise facility? It's a very "linear" resort so I suggest looking at a map to determine which building suites you. It's all supremely quiet but buildings on golf course are ideal with or without ocean view. I stayed at buildings 17 & 19. 13-15 are ocean front. 16 & 17 are best value - no view but easy walking to pool! Both units I stayed in had beach chairs, floaties and boogie boards.Final comment - this is a condo so each unit is different and offers different fit/finish/sleeping so check individual unit reviews but even going "blind" will serve you well.Whether you're a family or group of golfing buddies, you should seriously consider Halii Kai. Mahalos to Pua in the front office!
