Great resort!

Just came back from a one week stay in unit 8G. We were fortunate to have an ocean view across the golf course. Got to see the whales splashing from our lanai. Our unit was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed during our stay--made breakfast & lunch most days. The Ocean Club (pool & restaurant) was a short walk--even better views of the whales, family friendly pool, good food at the restaurant. You definitely need a car--short drive to a variety of beaches, shopping, & restaurants. Kohala Coast Properties was great to deal with in making our plans.

Our Stay in 20D was good

We stayed in unit 20D and found it to be very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay in the area. A fair walk from there up to the pool and bar (expensive but drinks are decent size). The pool is a great location for watching the sun set. Reception was friendly and efficient, although as noted in other reviews be sure to call and get the access codes if you are arriving later than 8pm. (Fortunately, we arrived just before 8).

Very Dissappointing

It all started the day before we were to leave home. I called the resort to get our info for the entry gate and the key or code for the condo as were would be arriving after the office was closed. I was told our reservation had been cancelled. I was informed that they had overbooked and were looking for a room for us. We had booked a 3 bedroom and they could put us in a 2 bedroom, I said that would be fine as long as they reimbursed us the difference. They said no problem. We arrived to find our condo not as specified on the website. The unit was to have a BBQ, in room safe, ironing board, laundry soap, and housekeeping. The room was a 2 bedroom that would accommodate 4 people. We had 2 chairs on the Lanai and no BBQ.We complained to the office and they told us we must have been looking at an old website. This was a bare bones condo with no condiments, no beach towels, toys or coolers. The office did give us beach towels and 3 boxes of laundry soap. We did have a king size bed but it was like sleeping on the floor, it was a futon on a piece of plywood.I have not yet received a reimbursement for the room difference and was told the day we checked out that once she talked to her manager she was sure we would get it. The good things about the place, it was clean and the ground were very nice. Pool was small and unable to do laps. I find if there is no beach near that a pool is always nice to swim in.Over priced for what you got.

Beautiful Place!

Our first time in Hawaii and could not have planned a better place to stay! Thank you KP Travel group for organizing our stay. First off, it's a gated community. The staff was so friendly when we arrived and whatever I needed, they were so helpful. The condo itself was on the 2nd floor. The place was very clean, updated and comfortable. Being able to do laundry was awesome. The kitchen was stocked with all that we needed to cook if we wanted or make coffee. It felt like home. The pool was so pretty and overlooked the ocean. Such beauty. I also think the location on the island was perfect since we were there during a tropical storm. The weather on our side of the island was great. Still enjoyed the pool and beaches.

Good family complex

3 adults and 2 kids stayed in 18H for a week. The condo itself is very nice. 3 bedrooms which was perfect for our group, nice finishes, clean and well maintained. The fruit basket was a nice surprise when we arrived. There is a $10+ tax a day resort fee payable upon checkin. The company we booked through didn't tell us this until they sent the gate code, etc a couple days before checkin. Not that big of a deal but would have been nice to know prior to booking. The kids enjoyed the pool and tub tub. The exercise room is nice and has the best view in the complex. The restaurant was a little disappointing. Had happy hour there a couple times ($7 Mai Thais instead of $11 regular price) which was nice. We stayed for dinner one night and that wasn't very good. Enjoyed the prawn appetizer but with shells and heads on and covered in sauce they are hard and messy to clean. The nachos weren't good at all. Soggy and covered in a flavorless cheese sauce - not real cheese on top. It was busy and the service was very scattered. The grounds are well kept. Overall a nice stay.
