Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff
- What's Included
The Royal Sea Cliff is agreeable enough, clean and well presented. The staff were certainly friendly and helpful (we did have an issue with a delivery which spiralled out of control and was poorly handled but that doesn't reflect upon the site itself) despite our limited interaction. The room was very pleasant and received more natural light than expected (although ground floor directly next to the smoker's area is a horrible experience).Location wise it is just outside of town, easily enough to walk but there is no pavement and so it can be a bit of an adventure, especially at nighttime. All in all a suitable base
We stayed at the Royal Sea Cliff between 2/25/16 and 3/4/16. There were five of us and we fit comfortably in a two-bedroom unit. We had limited interaction with the front desk/activities group because we had booked all our own activities, but they were very pleasant and helpful during check-in and check-out. It's a good location, about 3/4 of a mile from downtown Kona. It's an easy walk, but there isn't a sidewalk, so it's a little disconcerting to share a tight space with cars, but they're used to sharing the road shoulders. The complex itself is a little claustrophobic between the buildings, but is nicely landscaped with plants and waterfalls. The condo was large, with a huge master bedroom. The kitchen is well-equipped and will save a lot of money on food, since it's expensive to dine in Kona. There are gas barbecue units available by the two pools. The pools are well-used, since the condo isn't located on a beach. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay there again.
We stayed at Outrigger Sea Cliff with family for 5 nights. The staff where very welcoming & friendly. We were a little disappointed that there was no restaurant at all. We were also a little disappointed as the apartment we were in was privately owned not an Outrigger room & it was a little run down. We made the most of our stay & enjoyed the town & restaurants.
We just spent a few days at this hotel and found it to be a little disappointing. The location is good and the hotel has some great elements but outside the basics things get confused. Half of the hotel is branded as Outrigger while the other half is branded as Wyndham Resorts and while onsite we found that many suites including the one we were in are privately owned and just managed by Outrigger. This meant that our room was not well kept. It had furniture falling apart, warn interior and was well below the standard you would find in a standard Outrigger property. We have stayed in many places in Hawaii and always return to Outrigger Waikiki as it's one of our favourites but it is unlikely we would return here.
Our unit is a two bedroom on the 1st floor with a lanai leading to the garden and the family pool and ocean. We are here with another couple. The unit is perfect for us and we are totally satisfied. The only negative I will say is the attitude of the staff changed 180 degrees when we said we were not interested in attending an ownership presentation. Our unit has fairly new furniture and appliances, all in good condition. We were fortunate to get the unit we have. We are WorldMark owners and are here as we were not able to get into the Worldmark here in Kailua. However, that building is across the road, and not on the ocean like this building, so I think we are better off here. We booked this through RCI.
