Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff
- What's Included
We stayed in a two bedroom unit on the ground floor, close to the family pool. The room itself was clean and spacious enough for four adults for a couple of days, probably a little small however if you were intending to stay longer. The gardens are lovely and plenty of parking if you rent a car. All in all a good stay!
Unit 718. Clean and comfortable. Towels n linens were very good quality. Nice kitchen with mostly quality dishes n glassss. Lacked quality pans. Main bdrm was always too warm despite AC at recommended 74. TVs very outdated. Parking was easy. Unit far from water. Didn't spend anytime on grounds or pool area so no info on that
We traveled to Kona from April 12 - 20th. There were 3 parties - total of 16. We rented 3 - 2 Bedroom Ocean View Condos (Ocean View). Let me first say that the grounds of this property are kept immaculate! The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. This property is located just a few minutes out of the main town where you'll find many bars and eateries. Something to surely please everyone. Now lets get to the accommodation itself. As mentioned we had 3 units booked. Room 709 - Stunning! Beautiful views. Totally updated. Tiled floors. FULLY stocked kitchen and high end appliances.Room 708 - Alright. Beautiful views. Some what updated. Tiles floors. Pretty well stocked kitchen and decent appliances.Room 706 - Gross!!! Decent view. Mostly of the gardens towards the south of the building. Carpeted floors. Stained. Gross. I have a 3 year old boy who mostly likes playing on the floors with his cars and blocks and mean mommy wouldnt let him because it was so filthy! There was a break in the flooring between the tiled kitchen and the carpeted floor. The nails from the carpet were showing and my significant other had stepped on it. Luckily it wasnt my son. The Bedroom with the King bed was a decent size. But again the carpet was filthy! The bathroom so gross. The bathroom tiles looked as if they had never even seen bleach. My son learned at 3 years old to take a shower rather than a bath. The second bedroom with the Queen bed was a nice size. The bathroom was def cleanER but still not up to standard. The kitchen lacked all supplies. There was not enough pots and pans like there were in the other 2 units. The can opener was dull and i wasnt able to cut open a can of tuna. The kitchen floors look like they've never seen a mop! The blender did not blend.I was the one who put this vacation together for the 16 of us. I even contacted Royal Sea Cliff and requested that we ALL have modern rooms. Why me and my immediate family was given the crappiest room is beyond me. With all this said. I did speak to i believe Yuko the next day. She was accommodating and told me that should another unit come available that we could move. Well that wasnt' for a couple days after our initial check in. We had already gone grocery shopping etc and had "moved in"... we just couldnt be bothered to pack up and move to another room. We did ask for them to fix the nails sticking out in our floor to prevent injury and to send up a can opener that worked. We did request for additional pots and pans and were told that all units have the same .. .which i know is not truthful as the other two units had WAY more dishes than us. This really irritated me because as we made dinner for us (there was 6 of us in our unit alone) ... we had to wait until we finished cooking with the one pan, wash it and then re-use it... meaning our first dish would be cold by the time we got to it. All and all.. i wont stay here again and i would NOT recommend putting a request as to what kind of room you would like... as it goes unheard. I wish i had taken some pictures of the room to share with you all... but in truth i didnt want any reminders of the shack we were put up in. Kona is a beautiful little town... I will be returning to Kona... but staying elsewhere!
We stayed here 3 nights which was ok. We had a one bedroom place, which I think was not used much as it smelled musty but it was clean and everything worked in it. There are 2 pools, one family one which is on the left of the property and the 'quiet' pool is on the right. Pools are small which was Ok for us at the time as it was not a busy time but I do not know if they are big enough when it is busy season. The place does not have any places to eat or shops so you have to go into town for this. We did not have a car so we walked into the town which is about 30 minutes. This is not too bad during the day but it is very interesting at night as there are not many lights on the road! The big complaint I do have is the $150 for housekeeping. We only stayed 3 nights and were hardly in our rooms as we wanted to go around the Island on tours.
2 bedrooms with own full bathrooms. Location was great; no beach access.Staff was not the friendliest. The staff tried real hard to get me to go to an owner's meeting, which I politely refused. But they remained persistent for several days. The female concierge would not acknowledge me the 2 times I went to her desk. The front desk guy that checked us in, said that if we needed refills on anything, to just come to the desk and ask. Being I was only given one pack of coffee, I went to desk to ask for more coffee. I was given that "sideways" look, like I was asking to pull teeth, then given only one pack. One pack is one pot of coffee. So I opted to just buy my own after that. I dealt with the attitudes of the staff and the first two nights and mornings of a fighting couple traveling through my vent over my bed, I still gave this resort 4 stars for location, the rooms, and pools.ON the morning of checkout, I had a knock at 9 am asking if I was checking out and again at 10 am asking if I was checking out. From what I understood, checkout is 11 am. why the rush to get me out?
