Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista

Ok, I will tell you why I had to score it poor. BUT, not all of it, most of it would have scored Very Good. The BAD part of this all was when we came back to our room that night, after visiting Disney Springs. It was a RARE cold spell in Orlando, that night 45 and windy, cold for us. We stopped at the hotel bar for a drink, which was very friendly. We headed back to our room on the Windy Interstate side and we could not get in, we tried and tried, FREEZING. we went down to the desk, a good walk, and explained, they tried to Lecture me on how I did it by locking the door for privacy, ummm we were not in the room, all I wanted was it fixed and I was not happy at this point about the Lecture. A smart mouth, RUDE security guy was standing there and he too told me it was our fault, and that if I kept it up, we WOULD NOT be staying here. Really. We were told security would have to let us in. They met us at the room, he said he already reset the door, REALLY. couldn't wait for us to get there!!!! and we could go in, that we locked it with a privacy button. Well we didn't>>>>>Now here's the kicker, my wife noticed the toilet paper was folded to a point, like when you first come in. Sad thing is we had been it the room for a few hours before we went out for the evening, the bathroom was Used, and trust me my wife did NOT refold it just for fun. Someone else had been in that room after we left. PISSED, yes I was. Really PISSED. That was the POOR, it ruined the whole stay. Bad part was the rest was ok, an older property, room was ok, on the interstate but not that noisy, nice grounds and breakfast buffet was actually good, plenty of parking and close to Disney Springs. Will we go back, not sure, just don't Trust all the staff.
Nice hotel. we arrived xmas eve after a long flight and check in was fast but when asked about the roll away bed which was requested via the hotel website and receiving confirmation that this confirmed disappointing in the this was handled saying the request is from central and we will get one, 13 hour flight a very tidied daughter and we had to ring reception to remind them we needed it urgently. unhelpful response but it eventually arrived 10 minutes later i put it down to vmas eve and he was working when he really wanted to be at home.Pools were pleasant a bit dated though if they were to change remove the steps and make it more of a lagoon pool. splash park OK. Breakfast only tried it on xmas day reasonable priced and good selection. Snack service disappointing we spent a down day by the pool and splash area we tried to get some snacks from the quick bite only to be told that not serving till 4.30pm this was 1.30 so we ended up going out to get something to eat not ideal in any respects. disappointing in the fact that this was xmas and the hotel were and did nothing to make it special, the week before they had something on every day but xmas week absolutely zilch. rooms ok wifi ok air con noisy, I cannot fault the location if you took the freeway out of the picture, really close to Disney you can be in the parks within 10 minutes and being annual pass holders there we made the most of that. you can get advice at the ticket centre in reception or have a good chat as well, very friendly, We are back at the hotel In May as we again got a good deal with the hotel and flight so we shall see what the difference between then and our xmas trip
The location is the best part of this hotel because it's near the parks. Rooms are comfy. The door, however, is hard to handle. What really bummed me was the breakfast. It was not very good, with the usual american food. If I would recommend it? If you are looking for a suitable prize and good location this would be it.
Large room with fridge, coffee and tea, tv, ok bathroom.Hotel is quite close to traffic, so you will not get tranquility poolside. But hey, you're in Orlando - we werent much at the hotel.Nice fitnessroom, not big but very clean. Fresh towels there and at pool. Ok buffet breakfast, tried it a couple of times. Had make your own waffles, both ordinary and Mickey-waffles. If you are not into buffet, you can buy a light breakfast in bar also. We liked it.Can require some driver skills in and out of hotel, as road is trafficked and you need to make a u-turn to go left out of hotel. Might be a hazzle in high season? You can however get around it by driving a bit longer, go opposite direction and find somewhere else to turn. We found a rental car with built in GPS a great help. Good investment to find routes to hotel and attractions. Gaz station other side of road was also helpful, as well as possibility to order pizza to the room. Walking distance to family restaurants and supermarket. They ha a counter to buy Disney tickets, recommended. Think they have a shuttle also, but havent tried. Pool was ok for kids.Very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary cookie at reception in evening appreciated by kids.
We have stayed at the Clarion Inn LBV many times over the years. Although the hotel does not provide luxury accommodations, the property is very well appointed. The rooms are a good size for a couple. Everything in the room is very clean and in good working order. I really like the colors used for the walls and furniture, very soothing. For a very large hotel, they do a wonderful job at keeping everything clean. The grounds are very nicely landscaped. We've only eaten at the buffet for breakfast and has always been part of our package, but we really like it. The kitchen staff is always quick to replenish food. It can get downright packed though, as it seems every time we go, the hotel is packed with Brazilian tour groups, although they are very nice courteous folks enjoying vacation like the rest of us. As long as you don't stay here expecting Disney property service and accommodations, you will be pleasantly happy with your stay.
