Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista
- What's Included
The Comfort Inn Orlando/Lake Buena Vista is a good hotel in a good area. Nice pool area. A good breakfast with Mickey waffles is included. Shuttle to Disney Parks is also included. Many restaurants are with in walking distance. Disney Springs is 5 minutes away. Hotel is a little rough around the edges, could use an up grade in the near future. This hotel does have the slowest elevators ever. Most rooms have a refrigerator and mico wave. All in all this is a good hotel for the best price in the area about $85.00/day in January mid week. I would stay again.
I had a reservation at this hotel. Due to Midwest weather, travel was unsafe and our family's flight from St Louis cancelled, As a result I had to cancel on short notice. I asked the hotel for a refund and was told only the Manager could authorize a refund. I left 2 voicemail messages on the Manager's line. I received not reply so I emailed the Manager and Choice Hotels of the unexpected weather cancellation. Choice Hotels responded and said the Manager would need to resolve this. So I emailed the Manager a 2nd time; still no reply. I expected the courtesy of a response from the Manager, but apparently Customer Service has no place in his Manager's style. I've been involved in the travel industry and I cannot recommend this hotel to travelers based on this total disregard of circumstances, even when National News and Weather were reporting the unsafe travel conditions. There are many other hotel choices, including Choice Hotels, in the area to choose.
We've stayed here twice and the pool has made the visit an enjoyable experience both times. The kids would go down that slide for hours if allowed (and they did)!Breakfast room is large and you can eat outside as well. Rooms have fridge and are comfy and spacious. The price is right!
This hotel have the WORST front desk "employees" ever. Untrained, unhappy.... I paid a reservation a month in advance via booking.com to stay there for two nights in christmas with my girlfriend. I went to this hotel to check in and the person in the front desk, an awful, angry, careless woman named Maria -she didn't want to give me her last name to report her- trated us really bad. Since I didn't have on me the credit card I used to pre pay for this reservation on me -The room was already paid for, a month in advance and the money deducted from my account so I thought I could use any other credit card to check in and pay for incidentals... but no. This "employee" with the laziest attitude ever told me that there was no way for us to check in if I didn't have the card. I had more credit cards and she never EVER gave me an option to pay/check in with another card. She just told me I needed it or I couldn't check in. It was not even 5PM and the "manager" had already left, in a very busy day, leaving the most unexperienced, careless people in the check in desk. After many attempts to be able to check in, we finally decided to leave and look for another hotel, but before hand I asked this person for a refund. She immediately processed it and gave me a receipt showing the refund in my credit card. Needless to say, we had to pay for a more expensive hotel, reserving it the same day. A few days later I see the money refunded in my account, but a day after, THEY CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN! In an illegal, terrible way to steal my money. When it was THEIR fault that I couldn't stay, when they treated us REALLY bad and never gave us any option to check in. I showed up. I paid for this room a month in advance. I offered to pay somehow else. They didn't care and then they stole my money, when they had already refunded it. They claim that the reservation was "non-refundable", but that is in case it is MY FAULT -also, when you refund it, it becomes refundable, or not?-. I did everything I had to do and they practically kicked us out of this horrible, ran out hotel... just to, a few days later, steal my money, kidnapping my credit card number, something they are not allowed to do. They can't keep a credit card number once the transaction is closed (refunded). I am working with my bank to solve this, don't let this happen to you. Orlando is full of nice, affordable rooms... no need to stay in this place. Why suffer when you are on vacation?
The Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista is a great hotel for those looking for an affordable option near the Disney World resort. The room was quite comfortable and included a balcony. Being on the 6th floor, I was even able to see the Epcot sphere in the distance. The bathroom was a bit small, but many hotel's have tight bathroom spaces. Complimentary breakfast was certainly a plus and saves you from buying breakfast each day. Expect waffles, eggs, sausage, various pastries, and hot and cold cereals. The resort is part of the Disney friendly neighbor group. There is a shuttle but it has very limited times (three morning drop offs and three evening pick ups). The drop-off/pick-up points are only in Epcot. If you choose to stay late at one of the other parks, Uber is an option. I found the staff to be friendly and the elevator a tad slow. Overall, I was pleased with my hotel choice especially considering the on-line deal price.
