Came for my brothers wedding, thought the suite would be great as we had kids. Little did we know we'd pay to breath, nothing complimentary at all, not even coffee making facilities in the room, just left us feeling fleeced! $35 a night for a fridge if you wanted to buy in anything for the kids. Jet lag meant we were up at odd times, in the hotel I paid $18 for 2 bananas and 2 coffees, we're from the UK, that's nearly £15! Gobsmackingly expensive, I wouldn't mind, but for all its expense you don't fell pampered or spoilt in any way, so the sense of luxury is just wiped out.On the plus side pool is great( thought it's a 10 minute walk to Mandalay Bay Hotel to get to it) and it's quiet, but only as long as you're in the right room. We were fine, my brothers room was so noisy from the main air con unit I thought there was a helicopter flying outside for hours when I babysat his kids. I'd have complained, he was too polite! Oh and babysitting is available, $65 per hour, min 4 hours...........Would never go back.
Shares the casino and pool with the Mandalay. All very nice, but not encouraged to return . last year we were in the Mandalay, but rooms at Delano are better. We thought prices of food and beverage are just getting silly. Pool is great but got crowded in October. Location of hotel is not great if you want to visit the strip. We will definitely try elsewhere in future.
Our 2nd stay at Delano. Suites are a nice refuge from the noise and hustle and bustle. Access to restaurants, pools and casino just a few steps away. Staff are friendly and helpful. Although the Delano is at the end of the strip you are only a few minutes either walking or tram to all the action.I will definitely be back.
Visited the hotel to attend the Barrett Jackson car auction. The facility was clean and well laid out. There were a good selection of restaurants and shops. Took in the Beatles Love show that is onsite. Saw a couple musical stars in the House of Blues restaurant. Note!! The air was pretty good at this hotel/casino. Good ventilation made it more enjoyable.
I was offered an upgrade from an MB room to one in the Delano. I had never stayed there when it was THEhotel so I was very interested. The room was very nice but boring -- like it was someone's condo or a Hampton Inn or something. I know the joke is you don't spend much time in your room, but still I like to see a bit more branding or theming, not over the top but at least something! Everyone was very courteous and professional, I'd give it another chance if they revamped it. It's a good choice if the pool/river features are your thing.
