Encore Las Vegas
- What's Included
The Encore Las Vegas is the second phase to the very popular Wynn Las Vegas. The rooms here are very modern and clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel itself is also very modern and chic. If you are going to hang out poolside, try to get their early as spots fill up fast. XS nightclub located in the hotel is one of Vegas' current hot spots, a great party! The Encore and Wynn are both equally a good and recommended Las Vegas resorts. Being an upscale resort of course makes it a bit more pricey, but if you want luxury this hotel should definitely be on your list.
We have been coming to both the Wynn & the adjoining Encore since they opened. Each time, we are overwhelmed with the excellence (we alternate between the two adjoining hotels, and when there, go back and forth between the restaurants (depending on what type of food we are in the mood for...!) An author once said " I want very little out of life, only the best...and there is so little of that". Too bad that author didn't make it to the Wynn-Encore....the "best" is all there is there!Yes, I have seen the occasional "bad" review. Oh well..in any group of humans, you find those who are not "happy campers".
Stayed here 4 nights. The room was great (king suite). Luxurious, spacious, great views. Wifi is not standard and will $19.00 / day per device (ouch). They don't tell you that upfront when you book your reservation. Service is great. Location is not as centrally located. If you want to walk everywhere it will be far even to the monorail. If you are a non smoker this hotel is one of best for filtering the smoke.
Your hotel is beautiful and we always love walking through it. We are Platinum status with M-Life and Grazie (Venetian/Palazzo). We don't typically pay for rooms but we wanted to try and build status and the Wynn/Encore during our trip Dec 1- Dec 5 despite having a horrible experience 4 years ago at the Wynn where there was jewelry stolen from our room by one of their cleaning personnel. There was an investigation and they ultimately compensated us for our loss but none-the-less, the beauty of their property was soured by that experience. But this time we thought "Hey, it's been four years, lets try them again because the hotel is so beautiful." Upon arriving, my wife checked us in on Thurs Dec 1. I was not set to arrive until Friday Dec 2. When we checked in, we authorized 2 charges for our room- 1 for the room rate itself and 1 for incidentals. Upon, checking our credit card account the next morning there were 3 charges on our bill and one for $1600 which was not authorized which resulted in our account being overdrawn. When I brought this to my wife's attention, she immediately went downstairs to registration to inquire about what that charge was for only to be told repeatedly that it was not the Encore's error. "I'm sorry to be putting this back on you ma'am but this is not our fault and is on you" was the response my wife was being given in front of everyone at check in- which was rather embarrassing for my wife. It was until I had to literally scan in a copy of our statement showing the 3 charges did the receptionist go into the back for awhile (I assume to speak to a manager) and come back out an apologize that there was, in fact, $1600 in unauthorized charges made by the Encore to our account when we checked in the night before. All my wife received was a very insincere apology but the receptionist did submit the fax to have the funds refunded. Out of the four nights we stayed, our room was only serviced on Friday. When it was serviced, my wife had some snacks she had purchased that clearly were not finished still in bags, no where near at trash can to which the cleaning staff through out. The bed looked like it had been made by a 12 year old. Even though we had the light pressed on our door to request service, it was not until Sunday night that an attendant came by to deliver fresh towels. The ZooCrackers Deli was also an extremely disappointing experience. We get Vegas. We completely understand that even for basic causal dining a couple is lucky to get out of there for less than $50. However, when you are paying $50 for a deli sandwich and a veggie burger, the bread could at least not be rock hard stale. Also, what's the sense in asking customers what they would like on their sandwiches if you're not going to listen to them? We had very small requests like no mayo, no onion, and our plates still were served with all of that. When we voiced these exact concerns to the registration manager on Monday when we checked out, all we got was an "I'm sorry". Not even the offer of "what can we do to make this up to you guys". I guess it's Vegas and for everyone one couple that takes the time to complain, they've got hundreds who won't. With all of this being said, needless-to-say, we did not gamble a single dollar at the casino this time when we are typically $5-$10k per trip gamblers. We happily took our money elsewhere and will continue to do so. It's really a shame that the service at the hotel doesn't match the beauty of the property. Chris & Tamara- Austin TX
The rooms are large and beautifully appointed, opt for the south facing rooms, get one as far west as possible, as you can see the strip (don't worry about noise from the clubs, we were warned about that at check-in but we think that was just to get people to opt for the rooms with a lesser view). Basically at the end of the strip, you can still walk to several other casinos, and self parking is free so you can come and go-it's great to have a car in Vegas.
A nice place to visit in Las Vegas but it doesn't meet the 5 star rating from my perspective. They need still to work on some customer satisfaction points and in winter time the smoke it is not evacuated in the most efficient way from the casino so you can feel that smell everywhere.
