Our Opinion
The Flamingo has a wonderful, tropical pool area and a large lively casino. The entertainment is first-rate as there are many wonderful shows and stand-up acts. The rooms are clean and well kept. The hotel is a little older but the rooms have been renovated and it's in a great central location. Very well priced. Recommended for its location and good value.

Overview
Flamingo, the famous name that kick started Las Vegas. Though 'Bugsy' Siegel's original hotel is now long gone, the Flamingo Las Vegas is still very much alive and kicking. An abundant variety of shows, action packed casino, and the lush tropical pool area makes the Flamingo a great destination.

Location: Center strip, across from Caesar's Palace and the Bellagio.

Disappointed

The biggest thing is when checking in they do not have enough personal at the check in 15 or so stations and 3 being manned one hour to check in. Yes they have self check in but no one there telling how to do it. Very poor.

Flamingo Vacation

Excellent location on the strip. Wide variety of gaming available. New gaming added frequently. Although some of the rooms are old they remain clean. The remodeled rooms are very nice. Staff is helpful. Fine dining at the "Center Cut" is a great experience. The food court is lacking and it would be nice to have the sit down cafe back.

Dungeon Room

Worst room I have ever seen in my 30 years plus of going to Vegas. No window or TV in the Bedroom area. Carpet looked dirty with possible mold. After calling for help to change my room I was told not until the next day. Luckily I found a very helpful front desk employee (Evander) that moved us to an acceptable room although it also needed some updating.

Flashback to 1970

We arrived and did the kiosk check in (don't do this). We got to a room with the view of the roof AC units. The room was "non-smoking" but it smelled like someone had smoked in it. The decor of the room was straight out of the 1970's and didn't look like any of the room pictures online. We went back down to wait in line for 40 minutes to switch our room. We got a great view of the pool but the room wasn't much better. The room had a musty smell. and the couch had a mystery stain on it. The furniture was beat up. I guess we could have paid another 125 a night to get an upgraded room (with coffee maker, maybe more modern). but, if that was the case, I would go stay at one of the newer hotels on the strip. The hotel itself is okay. The "flamingo" and nature walk is 2 feet of animals. So, not much. Food and dining options are limited (so go on the strip or other hotels to eat). The shows are even from the 1970's (Donnie and Marie...who are they?). I'd recommend you stay somewhere else.
