Flamingo Las Vegas
- What's Included
The price seemed good, probably considered a budget hotel for Vegas, but the room wasn't anything special at all. It looked old and not kept up very well. No coffee maker in room...so you'll go downstairs and spend $5 for coffee. The bathroom looks old and not ventilated at all. They have over 5,000 rooms so our room was quite a little walk from the elevator. I'd suggest letting them bring your bags to the room for a small tip. (everyone expects a tip in Vegas so get used to it now) DO NOT fall for the hotel hucksters, all over the lobby, and their "free ticket" BS. It's a Wyndham time share con that will NOT be only two hours of your day. If you have an extra 4+ hours in one of your mornings, and can so NO easily enough, you can get some freebies but NOTHING in Vegas is truly free. The amount of times you get bothered just walking through the lobby is ridiculous.
Pool area has become the an outdoor club for the drunken 20 something crowd. Removing a lot of the basic lounges and replacing them with ridiculously expensive day beds and cabana areas as well as a stage for those outdoor club contests makes the pool area very unappealing.
Great pool, plenty of table games and slots but floor service was terrible, very understaffed ,hard to get a drink, played for several hours at times without even seeing a drink girl. Room was dirty and dated,I would stay at the Cromwell and use the pool at the Flamingo.
Well, I will start with the room: it was "tired" to say the least and no coffee (or anything) in the room. There are remodeled rooms and get one of those if you can. For a tired room with a leaking water spout in the tub, it was acceptable; clean, nice linens and good comfortable bed.The front desk was always very busy, but they have self check in kiosks that work nicely and the help-person can get you through any issues quickly. NO FREE WIFI! Yes, in 2017 I guess places still charge for wifi. McDonalds has free wifi, as do Lowes, Super 8 motels, Walmart, but not the Flamingo. A major irritant for me. Oh they had some deal to get two devices for 24 hours but my wife has two devices and so do I: that's four devices, so that deal is essentially meaninglessly. They charge for parking! Once you accept that fact, Caesar's does have a cool deal where hotel guests get a lower rate AND can park at any Caesar's property. The gates read your license plate and open when you approach. The casino was ok. Also looked a little tired. Slots were the tightest I have ever seen, but they have a big electric bill to pay, I guess. The restaurants were all ok with a big variety. The property itself has not lost its appeal with the great pool, the wildlife habitat and proximity to other places like the High Roller, the Linq Promenade, and neighboring casinos. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly - no issues there. Las Vegas has lots of choices, check them out. We like the area around the Strip and Flamingo Road, so we usually stay at one of those hotels. This was our first trip there in 17 years and a lot has changed, but a lot is the same as well. We may stay at Flamingo again, but we will definitely get a remodeled room if we do.
Habitat is a nice early morning environment, restaurants and good and a good overall experience. Housekeeping service was timely and always did a good job. We had a great view of the High Roller. The location of the Flamingo cannot be beat.
