Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino
- What's Included
I visited Las Vegas in January and stayed at the Golden Nugget. There is something really nice about staying downtown. The hotel has an old Vegas charm that seems lost on a lot of the newer, larger, over-the-top hotels on the strip. It was cool to be able to step outside and see the canopy of lights over Fremont Street, and to be able to walk over to the other casinos just next door or across the street. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and I am very picky about having a comfortable mattress! We ate in a few of the restaurants at the hotel and the food was good with lots of different choices for everyone.I would definitely stay at the Golden Nugget again when I return to Las Vegas.
My wife and I had another great stay at Golden Nugget. We had an upgrade to a jr. suite which was nice clean and very roomy. Staff was very helpful with anything we needed. Just out the doors is Freemont experience. We ate at a couple of their restaurants and thought they needed a little better waiter service. Food was just ok, nothing exceptional. Overall our stay was very nice. We stayed 1 night in Feb. and returned two weeks later after a drive through California, for another 2 nights. We will not hesitate to return. Photos of jr. suite and view from our second room on our return stay.
I was upgraded upon arrival by the registration desk. She was so friendly and helpful. The pool is fantastic and the restaurants are as well. The cafe has awesome salads and fruit plate! Our room was very clean with a great view. We'll stay again!
I love the old part of Vegas . It's great for people watching and it seems like you can win more on the slots. The Golden Nugget is at the old part of Vegas but it is far from being old. The rooms are beautiful and everyone is very helpful. The price of the rooms are great. The suites are affordable and you get the feeling of home. I love this place.
We were on the 22nd floor of the Rush Tower overlooking Freemont. Yes, you will be able to hear the bands playing until 1 or 2am but it really is not that bad. Earplugs are available in the room but if you are doing Vegas right, you should not have any problem falling asleep at night. Just like all hotels on Freemont, you will be around smokers. I had no issues within the room since it was a non-smoking floor. Room was nice and you can tell it had been updated somewhat recently. Very clean and comfortable. It was really nice that being on the 22-24th floors since you needed to use your room key to access those floors. Coffee and fruit were available each morning by the elevators (only for floors 22-24). We rented a car so traveling to and from the Strip was really easy. Maybe 15 minutes depending on traffic. I wish it was warmer so we could have used the pool and been closer to the shark tank.
