Our Opinion
First-rate service and hospitality. Hands down the best hotel in the downtown area. A great place to stay if you're looking for a change from the popular Las Vegas Strip. Highly recommended for those who wish to stay in the downtown area.

Overview
The most historic hotel in Vegas to have achieved the AAA 4-Diamond Award for 24 consecutive years. An elegant hotel, richly appointed with marble, crystal and brass. The dazzling $70 million Fremont Street Experience is right outside the door in downtown Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget is as lustrous as the Hand of Faith, a 61 pound gold nugget displayed inside the hotel.

Location: On Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas.

First trip to Vegas

Overall it was about what I expected. Easy access to Fremont street and all the action! The pool was nice except for the shark tank and slide was closed for maintenance, very bummed about that.. other than that the staff was friendly. I'd return.

Has all the entities that you could want, great food, fun pool, right on Fremont Street. Recently updated and remodeled

The pool was fun, however the shark tank was down for repairs when we were there. The Italian restaurant just it off the pool, inside the lobby, food was amazing!! The rooms were clean, recently renovated, The cora doors were clean and we had no noise problems when we were trying to sleep. There was an amazing Elvis impersonator, on Fremont Street right out the main entrance, on the second floor lounge that oversaw the stage with outside seating, very nice !

Carson Towers stay

Hugh fan of the Golden Nugget (GN), it has been my go to for over 30 years but not my exclusive hotel and casino due to concerns as what my family recently experienced ... The celebration of my daughters graduation from Cal State Fullerton with a degree was hindered by seriously outdated queen beds in our Carson Tower room that interfered with our sleep during our two night stay, the A/C kept us comfortable unfortunately again interrupted our sleep due to its noise level (room 568).On the upside the hotel and casino staff is what makes a visit and/or stay worth the expectation of fantastic service ... thank you 'Kelly' a long standing bar tender in the casino who goes beyond standard service and interacts with patrons with a welcoming personality.GN I will be returning, I realize the maintenance of any hotel is a hugh costly undertaking for any owner/business however my next visit probably will not include a stay at the Carson Tower.Regard,Michael Alva San Pedro, Ca.

LOVE THE NUGGET!

This is our "go to" location when visiting Vegas. It's clean, quiet and very affordable. After reading some reviews, I don't know what they are expecting. The carpet and/or furnishings in your room are outdated...REALLY?! How much time do you spend in the room when you're in Vegas? Hopefully not much so WHO CARES?! Unless you're in the gold tower, expect a walk to and from your room but the ambience and people watching makes it a quick trip. This hotel and the Freemont Street area put the "Strip" to shame. We have been here enough that the "Strip" has lost it's feel over the years (Too many "Characters" to have your picture taken with, pan handlers and timeshare pushers). Unless there is something special we want to see, we don't set foot on the Strip.Freemont Street gives us the "feel" we love. We walk 2 minutes to a convenience store for soda, snacks, liquor...anything. We walk from casino to casino in minutes, we enjoy many food choices (Everything from fast food to a diner setting to elegant dining) again within a short walk, we enjoy FREE live entertainment nightly out on the street on several stages as well as the lounges in the casinos, we shop from local vendors for decent prices, and let's not forget the FREE light show every hour. All in all Freemont Street is EVERYTHING the "Strip used to be and is no longer and The Golden Nugget at the center of it all.

they are scamming people

Here how we arrived at the hotel, the girl at the desk had her head down the whole time, and couldn't look us in the face,,we booked two months ahead, when we arrived she told us ,we only have a king, when we booked for two beds with three people, but than she said well if ya want to pay 230.00 plus taxes,we can give you two beds in a upgrade, not sure what the upgrade was,the room was no different than the regular rooms, well she knew we had to take it,with three people, than I was anger, and she said ill throw a fridge in,lol we called the next day they said that cost 30 a day,so by than we didn't get one, they just wanted to drain our pockets, than every night we got talking to people,we found out this was a scam, they ask for king and could only get doubles, unless they pay,we will never look back at the Godden Nugget,my Husband told them we will not be back, they did not care, scam scam scam stay away,We travel the world and never had this happen,or heard so much about a place we picked to stay.
