Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino
- What's Included
We visited this casino on a stop downtown, though we were staying on the Strip. The Gold Nugget is the nicest place on Fremont Street - lots of options for gambling, no matter what your game of choice is. The pool here also looks fabulous. The hotel has lots of windows where guests and visitors can see the pool area and all its amenities.IF you visit the Gold Nugget - be sure to check out the Chart House restaurant . . . particularly at Happy Hour!
Downtown Las Vegas is NOT a place for family and kids. Why do you think they have people that are painted naked or men with g strings and whips standing outside the Golden Nugget. Women with only pasties on their breasts. Take your kids to Disneyland. LEAVE Las Vegas for adults !!
This was the first time we stayed on Freemont street. The stay started with good customer service and continued to impress my wife and I the 4 days we were there. The only complaint I have is that getting to a valet service is a bit confusing. We will be staying here aging in the bear future.
I've stayed at the Golden Nugget 4 or 5 times over the last 6 years. I prefer Fremont Street to the regular strip and look forward to my stays. The hotel gets more expensive every time I book and the service is not as good. I'm ok to pay more if the services match the price but I feel like that isn't the case anymore.Room- the room we booked was not available when we checked in so they upgraded us to a gold tower suite. the suite was large and it was a nice treat. however the room was not very clean, there was hair all over the bathroom and the mirrors had not been cleaned. The wifi was very weak and for a $30/day resort fee you'd hope it was better. Restaurants- the food at Grotto was good as per usual, the pizza deal for happy hour is excellent. However both times we went the service was very slow. We had to go find our server to pay our bill after waiting for over 30 minutes for him to come back. The food from the Grille was very expensive and very greasy, again not consistent with my previous experiences. Pool- the price to go to the adult pool fluctuated everyday we went up, there were no printed prices which seems like a scam to me. All in all I was disappointed and am sad to say that I will look at other Fremont Street hotels next time I go to Vegas.
For six years The Golden Nugget has been our go-to spot. Not anymore. For several reasons, we will now be finding a different hotel when visiting. Let's start with two positives; clean room and Vic & Anthony's. We have dined at V & A's three times and, as usual, they do not disappoint. Our meal was outstanding. The customer service has gone down hill. The guy that checked us in had an attitude (I'll be nice and not put his name). He treated me like I was stupid when I asked a few questions. I should have asked to talk to a manager, but after a four hour drive, I just wanted to get to my room. The entire visit followed suit. Terrible customer service! I know my next complaint has nothing to do directly with Golden Nugget, but if there are other customers that feel this way, they will ultimately lose business. Fremont Street has become downright scary. Looking at the oddities is part of the experience, but when you are practically accosted by druggies and people trying to give you sample lotions, it takes away from relaxation. My husband and I were on high alert the entire time. Plus, the people holding signs have become rude and brazen. This is all so sad because Fremont has lots to offer, but the city needs to take care of some business. WARNING: THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR CHILDREN. I will miss the late night cocktail while watching the fish at the Chart House and Vic & Anthony's delicious meals, but not enough to ever return.
