First-rate service and hospitality. Hands down the best hotel in the downtown area. A great place to stay if you're looking for a change from the popular Las Vegas Strip. Highly recommended for those who wish to stay in the downtown area.

The most historic hotel in Vegas to have achieved the AAA 4-Diamond Award for 24 consecutive years. An elegant hotel, richly appointed with marble, crystal and brass. The dazzling $70 million Fremont Street Experience is right outside the door in downtown Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget is as lustrous as the Hand of Faith, a 61 pound gold nugget displayed inside the hotel.

Nice Hotel/restaurants/shops

Been to Vegas numerous times but was our first time staying on Fremont Street at the Golden Nugget in mid January. We happened to arrive on the same day that a convention was taking place so checking in took a loooong time. Nevertheless, the front desk staff was very courteous during the check in process. The hotel was very nice and clean. Nice choice of restaurants with great food on the premises and shops too. There's a pool with a shark tank in it, but it was closed for remodeling. We had a rental car and parked in the deck across the street, for free as long as we showed the guard at the entrance our hotel room key. There's a Starbucks near the elevators but too bad that it closed early every day. Our room was kept cleaned every day with fresh towels. No complaints. Would definitely stay here again.

Horrible customer care

customer service SNAFU; on the morning of Feb 14, I walked into the bathroom at 8:30am to shower...the floor was wet and upon inspection, I found that the toilet in our room (14124) was leaking...I was walking in toilet water. I threw down some towels, showered and went down stairs to get another room. I was told, " There are no comparable rooms, so you and your wife will need to pack your bags, store them down here and come back at 3:00pm for a new room." I was flabbergasted! What?! I'm going to be inconvenienced, miss breakfast, and have to come back and basically, re check-in? "yes sir, I'm sorry. I will comp your resort fees." Really, that is so nice of you", I replied sarcastically. I will never patronize your hotel, and will do whatever is in my power to broadcast this "inconvenience" about your hotel management. At 9:30pm on Feb 14, I spoke with a manager...he didn't do anything but look contrite and apologize.

Revamped hotel, exceeded our expectations, front desk staff very nice!

My partner and I were excited to stay on Fremont during this Vegas trip and we looked into the Golden Nugget. The hotel has clearly gone through some major revamping and the location was perfect for us. When we checked in, James from New York, was friendly, very knowledgeable, and made us laugh. Coming from an unexpected delayed flight, his personable approach was just what we needed. The check in process was very thorough and we felt like he was a long time friend. We stayed in Carson tower and were happy with our room. Roomy, clean, nice views, and friendly housekeeping staff. The various restaurants in the hotel had some great happy hour deals that we took advantage of. Overall we had a fun time, we felt welcomed, and we will be back soon!

Great Hotel....If You're NOT Staying Right Next to Fremont Street!

My husband had a conference at this hotel and we stayed here 3 nights. Not having been to this area of Vegas before, I wasn't aware of just how LOUD Fremont Street can be....especially after midnight! Unfortunately, our hotel room was on the Fremont Street side as are a lot of the rooms. It was VERY loud, however, the hotel does offer earplug for each side of the bed, which totally helped. The room was very nice and clean. We ended up not switching rooms as we decided it would be more of a hassle. As with a lot Vegas hotels, there's a lot of residual cigarette smoke. You could smell it getting on and off the elevators, in the hallways, etc... Not an issue is cigarette smoke smell doesn't bother you. All in all, this was a nice hotel and would probably stay there again if need be.

Bucket List checked off

My husband and I had it on our bucket list to stay on Freemont Street and at the Golden Nugget. This was my 6th time to Vegas and first time staying on Freemont. We loved it!! Stayed in the Carson towers in room 19109 and it was perfect. Clean, up to date (other than the bathroom door and tub) Bed was so huge and comfy!! We opted out of housecleaning and got $15 credit towards food. Which we used at the claim jumper for breakfast and it was so good. Loved the gaming area too!! Everyone was super nice and we will be back.
