New York New York
- What's Included
We stayed here March 15-22 - room was great, no noise in the hall either night or day- I figured it being Vegas it would be party time but very quiet.Used the pool a couple of times, lots of loungers. Lots of dining options, we ate at America, Fulton Fish a couple of times. We ate breakfast each morning at Dennys across the strip. We were on the go so much, that we usually ate where we were visiting. Ate one evening at Dicks Last Resort at Excalibur, as we had to meet a tour and this was the stop. New York New York is a great location, MGM right across the strip, Monte Carlo next door. We discovered there is a free tram to Bellagio. Walk through Monte Carlo until you see a sign that says Tram to Aria Bellagio, it stops at Aria, then Shops of Crystal then Bellagio. We were going to the Rod Stewart concert at Caesars, we took the tram to Bellagio walked over to Caesars. There is a tram, at MGM that takes you down to Ballys, but it is expensive. We took this tram to Ballys as we were again, meeting a tour that this was the only close pick up and drop off stop close to us. We did the Hoover Dam tour, with Comedy on Deck Tours, excellent, Pawn Stars tour, with stops at the Shelby Museum, Tanked and another reality TV show, my husband is a fan so we did enjoy it. Did a night tour on the double decker bus, stopped at Fremont Street, seen the volcano show at Mirage, stopped at the Las Vegas sign, gave us a lot of history of Vegas. Tips- you will be walking non stop, take the most comfortable shoes or whatever you own. Buy water at Grand Canyon Experience for 2/1.00 a store across from New York New York, to keep hydrated. Dislike the amount of smoking, in the casinos and on the streets - yuck. Sad seeing the homeless people sleeping on the street. I am a sucker for cats, when I seen the lady on one of the walking ways sitting with her cat, I gave her money- she thanked me and blessed me :) Drinks are expensive, my husband bought a Sangria in a middle size glass for $12.00 US...buy your booze at the ABC store or Grand Canyon. We really enjoyed the Las Vegas trip, had super hot weather, loved the Rod Stewart Show, seen lots of crazy people on the Strip. Maybe it is just me - but why do people bring infants, toddlers, children, into the smoke filled casinos...sad...
Visited Las Vegas 3/8-3/12/17 for Pac12 tournament. Stayed at the New York New York for the first time and enjoyed the stay. The hotel is close to the new TMobile Arena and provided convenience and good food choices. They had a nice variety of restaurants located on the way to the back door and the TMobile Arena. We had two long days at the Arena and the food there is expensive and not thrilling. So each time we ate at one of the NYNY restaurants, it was about the same $$$ but much better quality and choice. Check in was different. We had several terminals and just entered our reservation information and were assigned a room number and keys. It went fairly quickly and there was an attendant who gave us directions to the elevators and a quick rundown of a food special for breakfast. Last year, we went to the MGM Grand and had to wait in a long line just to check in. This was much quicker and makes a lot of sense, since they already have all my information from my reservation, including my credit card number. We didn't listen closely enough to the attendant's directions so we had to wander around a bit to get to the correct elevators. Could have used a map of the facility in a rack by the terminals. Overall a positive experience, since I was tired and just wanted to get to the room asap. I could have seen a live person at the front desk but this worked well for me. The room was clean and about average for a Las Vegas room. The queen bed I had was relatively comfortable but was worn on the side next to the night stand. I didn't notice it until I used the other side of the bed. Mattress needed to be flipped. I guess most guests tend to sleep on one side of the bed. The bed was still comfortable and I slept fairly well. Overall a good stay. Hotel is not new but well kept and clean. Location is excellent for attending events at TMobile. Price was relatively high due to the tournament and other events in Vegas but still happy I stayed there.
We stayed at the New York - New York for a week in March. What a fantastic experience. We were celebrating a mile stone birthday and had our wedding anniversary on St Patrick's day. The room was of a really good standard with a large bathroom, large tv, and two comfortable queen beds. The room was cleaned every day and we were well looked after by all of the staff. The casino was quite an experience for first timers, it's not the biggest but I thought it was one of the best. There's something for everyone at the New York - New York, I would recommend a visit to anyone.
We stayed in this hotel on the way home from LA and it was great. The hotel is so cute with the New York set up at the bottom. It was an amazing view of the strip especially at night and easy access to everything. Great hotel, would definitely recommend staying here.
Pretty disappointed about my stay here. I had set up my check in through mobile check in, but it took longer to check in through that option versus just going to the front desk. The room was adequate and clean, but somewhat small. I was surprised that were wasn't a mini-frig in the room. Checking out was a hassle. After I checked out, my hotel key would not let me leave the parking garage. I had to back, back up the ramp into the garage and return to the front desk. Luckily, no one was behind me when this occurred. Turns out that the staff person didn't activate my hotel key cards to leave the garage when I first checked in at the mobile check in desk.
