New York New York
- What's Included
The NewYork NewYork is a great concept Hotel/casino. When you walk in it's like walking around New York. I found the hotel/casino was kept very clean. Our room was a good size the only let down is we looked out onto the multi-storey car park. We ate out all the time as we found the restaurants inside the hotel were quiet expensive, ok if you want a slice of pizza. There are a few great places to eat just outside the hotel if you don't want to travel to far. Denny's is across the road for a reasonable priced breakfast. We sat by the pool during the day. The pool was a fair size however it did get busy by the afternoon so beds were all in use. The only negative thing about the pool was the rollercoaster ran above it. Do get your drinks from the shop by the pool rather than the pool bar, you'll save a few dollars! Being near the bottom of the strip it's a fair walk up the strip so make use of monorail it stops at the big Hotels. All in all not a bad Hotel you could do a lot worse.
Prepare to be processed into a money taking machine. Check-in is a choice of wait for an hour (have you ever seen a Californian take less than 20 minutes to check in?!) Or go through the pre-check in online that involves five or six screens of data entry on your phone, repeating everything you pit in the booking. Two rooms? Do it ALL twice! Having stood in the check-in line for about half an hour I decided to try the onlibe one again. The only human involved was a very hostile lady who assimed her role was guard rather than helper, demanding Id as I checked in. Once proven I was legit, she handed back the id without a word of greeting or thanks. The place? Hired two rooms, no chance of them being together - computer doesn't give the option. Traditional Vegas casinos offer buffets to draw in the punters. This one is more of a theme park with no bargains. Having said that the Irish bar/resturant was good. The room was ok but for the yelling family next door and you'd pay extra for a view - saw a concrete wall about 10ft from the window. Goong back? No chance.
First time in Vegas heard all the hype wont be back ok so if your a casino fan and want to bake alive its the place to go but we are just back from a 2 week stay it it was 12 days too long .. you need a bank loan and remortgage just to eat ..ok so the room is clean the hotel is huge but we also like pool time but with the roller coater helicopters and loud music too many people and crammed loungers it wasn't relaxing ..we had to pay a ridiculous resort fee which amounted to an additional 380 dollars on our stay and they have to the cheek to charge you to get into the bars after 9pm in the hotel ..then the singers want 20 dollars a song request ..we NEVER got a drink playing the machines or gambling its so busy its somewhere everyone wants to visit but having been I can say be prepped for a shock at the cost ..we used the local shops for drinks because the hotels are 10 dollars a drink we got grief at the pool for asking for ice and you get bag searched as you cant take drink to the pool we had an an arguement with the bar staff who dont like givng ice oh unless your forking our 20 dollars for 2 drinks warning to all its a cse of open your wallet and empty it on vegas ..its an adventure but its go there with your eyes open
Rooms are nice and clean, but kind of small. Tons of things to do inside the hotel and good location. If you like chocolate get yourself a chocolate martini. Watch out for the resort fees and parking cost.
This was my first non work trip to Las Vegas. Wanted to celebrate my birthday with friends and decided to stay at New York New York due to the location of the shows we wanted to see. Room was large for 3 people but it was a little dated. Would have liked to have a refrigerator to keep drinks and leftovers but made do. Room definitely needed more plugs for all the electronics people travel with nowadays. Bathroom needs updating but overall it was a pleasant stay and would stay here again
