New York New York
- What's Included
My wife and I stayed at New York New York recently, what a nice facility! The room was clean with a beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. The New York theme was interesting and very cool! Thankfully the smell of cigarette smoke was not an issue like some other casinos seem to have. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Only thing I would like to have seen would be a fridge in the room.
Despite a horrible experience during late night check in with an unhelpful desk clerk who put us in a less than great room (we booked a run of house room) - our stay at NYNY was comfortable. We ended up going down to reception the next morning and the lovely Michelle immediately moved us to a much nicer room. Hotel facilities are nice, including pool area. Restaurant and gaming area is incredibly noisy - no areas to have a quite drink. The hotel is also a long way away from the main strip activity so we spent a lot of time walking to get to places we wanted to see.
We spent 4 nights at the hotel. This is our 3rd time at NYNY. As usual it was a great state. We like it for the variety of dining options. It does not have a buffet which is alright. The slot machines were dated as the other casinos had newer machines, We stayed in Park Avenue and had a room on the 30th floor. Even that high up we had no problems with waiting on elevators.
We drove from New York to Las Vegas over three weeks, staying in a lot of different styles and price points of motels and hotels. This motel (NewyorkNewyork) was the most expensive and easily the worst of all.It was the only motel to NOT offer such basic facilities as a fridge and coffee making!I accept that in Vegas and other large cities you pay for overnight parking.I even accept the Vegas resort fee.But seriously, no fridge or coffee?Charging extra for pillows or towels next?
We returned aug 24 to 27 for a comped trip. When we booked the big fight was not scheduled. So we were worried about what type of freebie room we would get. (We got comped 2 free notes from vacation previous year. We are not high rollers, but do eat well go to spa etc)Not only did we get 2 nites fri but ended up with 3 also.We checked in on line and when got there they said 3 floor, I asked for a higher room and ended up on 27 floor, no problem, room was nice and clean with a great view. Only drawback was long walk to elevator, but I dint mind.I was a little worrried about crowd control during fight, but the security was all around.I love New York New Yorker for price point. It has plenty of restaurants, bars and easy walk to mgm etc.It is not a 5 star hotel and price reflects this. I feel that you get a good buy for your dollar considering it's Vegas Hopefully will get comped againCan't wait to go back
