Comfortable, family friendly, away from strip

Visited for an out of town soccer tournament from AZ. Booked through Expedia. Resort is 15 mi or so off the strip, along the base of the red rock mountains on the west side of the metro area, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown LV. Views out west facing windows are beautiful mountain views. Our room was slightly dated, but clean and comfortable. Bathroom modern and clean. TV standard, fully functional, with lots of PPV options.Room service menu decent, and we got 3-4 meals by room service which was prompt, warm, and good. Nothing overly unique (chicken tenders, caesar salad, omlette...) but tasty and not quite as overpriced as many hotels.Staff were all extremely quick to please, helpful, and friendly.Parking much closer to rooms than most LV casinos (where ramps are often a mile from check or rooms, thru winding hallways).Family friendly - with arcade, kids club, large bowling alley, food court, and large family friendly buffet on premises. Casino full service, but slightly smaller than many of those on the strip. Has ~any game one would want to pay, however. Good sized sports book.

Awful place

I travelled here for a convention. The hotel accidentally gave my room to another guest who checked in that had the same name (common name). The front desk was at a loss to explain what happened. Took them 39 minutes to check me in. I only figured it out because I ran into the person who had same name who told me she got my room. She knew because there were convention gifts left in the room for me. Still being double billed for my stay. It has been a total nightmare. This place is poorly run. Horrible customer service. And I'd say the security is bad too if they give rooms to the wrong people and allow the charges to go through. Awful.

Great View of Red Rock Canyon, Wonderful Restaurant Selection

We were at Red Rock for a soccer tournament for three nights. We had a very nice time and enjoyed the nice room, high end bathroom decor, and the wonderful selection of restaurants, bowling, arcade, and movie theaters on site. As with any three day weekend Friday check-in, there was a substantial wait to get checked in when we arrived at 6:30pm. We waited 45 minutes to get to the front desk. We would have been more impressed if they had more than 3 people at the front desk on a busy Friday. Half price drinks at the lobby bar would have been a nice touch to take the edge off. Heads up, there are no refrigerators in most rooms for storing your own drinks, only their weight-sensitive minibar refrigerator. So if you are traveling as a family, you may want to bring your own cooler and use their ice machine to keep your own items cool. The other unpleasant surprise is that they do not offer a coffee machine in the rooms. What an odd choice to deprive your guests of complimentary coffee in the room. I guess they are trying to push business to their two Starbucks on the Casino level. Warning, the Starbucks have a long queue in the mornings of busy weekends (20+ minute wait). So if you like coffee in your pajamas in the room while you are getting ready, bring your own coffee maker or electric kettle. The other option is that you can pay $20+ to have coffee delivered to the room. They have a beautiful array of pools. Understandably, in January there is only one small pool and one hot tub heated. We enjoyed both one afternoon after a soccer game and met a few other families. I am not sure if it is open at night because we never saw any posted hours nor any takers for a late night visit to the hot tub. Our last odd occurrence was that they only provided towels for 3 people in a room booked for 4. Housekeeping has a lean staff in the evening so check your towel supply before you settle in for the evening. It could be over an hour or more to get additional towels. When we asked for new towels after two days, and again, just a set of 3 was provided. This hotel gets the basics right. I would stay there again for a tournament. I would just plan ahead and bring a $13 electric tea kettle and some instant Starbucks so I could have coffee in my room in the mornings to make up for their unusual cut back.

Best place off the Las Vegas strip

Excellent in every way - rooms, service, facilities, food. Shuttle service available to the airport and the strip. Decent shopping nearby. It was only an overnight stay but we wished it could have been longer. One of the nicest rooms that we have stayed in and at a good price. Free valet service. We stayed here because of the proximity to the Red Rock Canyon Conservancy Area - a short drive away. We also saw several road cyclists staying here because the nearby rides. Several great golf courses in the Summerlin area.Great staff. Highly Recommended.

Great weekend getaway!

Red Rock Resort is a great location for a quick get away. Great places to eat like T-Bones, Lucilles and Noodles. For non-gamblers there is a great Spa, bowling, movie theater, food court and pool area where your don't get the overcrowded feeling that you do on the Strip.I'm not a gambler but it seems like a very relaxed atmosphere on the gaming floor.
