The Linq is a fantastic location on the strip - easy access to walk in either direction and the side avenue with all the shops and food (leading to the High Roller) is really convenient as well. The express self-checkin was handy and everything with our accommodation was good. It feels slightly short-staffed at the desk as the lines were always crazy long. Housekeeping forgot a cellphone in our room and we returned it to the desk but I had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to be available. Also the safe was locked when we checked in, we called and waiting 1 hour but they didn't come (later they left a note but we never are in our room long enough to sync with them). The only other issue was our hot water handle in the bathroom wasn't connected, so we'd have to hold it on and turn the water on/off and take it off when done. I never understood why housekeeping doesn't communicate these things when they're cleaning. As part of a post-checkout cleaning they should be making sure everything is in order, the safe unlocked, lights all work, etc. and put in orders to get things fixed prior to the next guest or to have the room make unavailable until repairs can be made (moving guests to another room). All in all, fantastic stay, will definitely return.
My first impression of the Linq was it had a very busy lively reception area both day and night. I did wonder if I would be able to get any sleep upstairs, but noise was not a problem in my room.Coming from England and being used to the smoking ban being in place for a while, it came as a shock how smokey it can be in the bar and Casino areas. But smoking is legal in Las Vegas so this just an observation rather than a criticism of the hotel. My room was very modern and I was very pleased with it and this was one of the things I liked most about the hotel. The actual hotel room and bathroom were great, I have added a few pictures to my review.I do like several cups of coffee throughout the day, so a kettle in the room would have been nice. If you are like me pack a travel kettle. Coffee is available to purchase downstairs but at $3 upwards a time for freshly brewed coffee and higher prices for Americano, Cappuccino etc. The hotel provides $9 breakfast credit which guests you are given to buy breakfast every day. As this is free I won't moan to much but I will say most days my breakfast came to over $9. The hotel won't accept cash payments at the till if you are staying as a guest so they charge the difference to your room. This adds up can increase your final bill when you check out. This plus my additional cups of coffee soon began to add up.The Linq do provide fridges in the rooms and a few small bottles of complimentary water most days which was good. The hotel has a nice pool area and gym but never got round to using them but liked what I saw. I have added a few pictures I took while checking them out. The hotel also has a room near the swimming pool that contains a pool table and various other games which is free to use.The hotel has Free wifi but I often had trouble using it for some reason the connection in my room kept dropping out. At first I thought it might be my Samsung phone. My partner has an Iphone and she rarely could get her phone to work at all.The house keeping was good to start with but after 5 days we had to ask for our room to be cleaned. The cleaners then only made the bed and cleaned the bathroom not the bedroom. Which was a shame as earlier in the week the standards were great.Resort fees are a bug bear of mine I can understand why hotels have them but If you don't want to use the pool, gym Wifi etc. You should not be charged for them in my opinon.I enjoyed my stay at The Linq and it is a good hotel. But I think I will try another hotel next time I visit Las Vegas.
If you want to stay on the strip this is a great place to go to. Rooms are clean and nice. Affordable and easy access to shops, casinos (obviously) and places to eat. Pool doesn't allow anyone under 21 and closes at 5pm which seems a bit odd. Rooms aren't completely soundproof so you can hear noise from outside.
I stayed at The Linq resort from 9/10/16 to 9/12/16 and in these short few days I had a traumatic experience that to this date has been causing much distress. On 9/11/16 around lunch time, I purchased a unique piece of artwork near the hotel. I watched the artist create the artwork which made it that much more special. After purchasing it, I dropped it off in my hotel room, called for housekeeping, and left the room. After returning a few hours later, I realized that the painting is missing. I immediately called the front desk representatives, they put me on hold, then transferred me to the housekeeping representatives, who then sent 2 security representatives up to the room. I explained the situation to them and that was it. I never got a call back from front desk to follow up on my experience nor did I ever get a call back from housekeeping (who are the people who ENTERED my room) to follow up.With the claim form I got from security, I called the insurance company CCMSI to follow up on my situation. Long story short, I received a letter today (over 30 days later) from the insurance company. This letter from a template contains opinions like “there is no evidence to suggest that Linq Resort & Casino was negligent in any way in this situation”. What are the evidence? Did they speak to the housekeeping team? Did they look at security footage? The only evidence provided in this whole situation was that the painting was there before I left the room yet was gone when I returned, I did not lose a key, and I ensured the door was locked before leaving. This experience has caused a lot of distress for me which they would never be able to compensate, for and the fact that I saw the artwork being created makes the painting priceless to me. But the painting that was missing could be compensated for LESS THAN $200 usd. The lack of accountability, ownership, and responsibility of this hotel absolutely blows my mind that it could remain on the strip. The insincerity I received from the insurance company is also unacceptable. As the accountable human being I am, I will follow through on this claim until I receive a decent apology or compensation.Until then, shame on you.
An average hotel. Did a 10PM check-in. A long queue with a wait time of >45 minutes. There were only a two people manning the front desk. The front desk personal do not want to talk. Not even a hello. Felt un-welcomed. She was probably tired. The other personal on the other hand seemed like very talkative as she handled only one guest for my entire duration in the queue. Average room. They gave me District 3 section of the hotel and the room sucks on 3rd floor. I think until the 5th floor, the entire wing of the district is surrounded by other buildings. I booked using HotWire. This hotel should be the last option in your list of hotels.
