The Mirage Resort Casino
- What's Included
The Mirage has been around a while, and we have stayed there many times for conventions, but I really need to brag on them for our past visit. We joined MLife (best thing ever) and have become Platinum members, so we booked our room through the MLife site rather than with our convention. We got a terrific rate on a one-bedroom penthouse suite. Along with the suite, we got a very special check-in and we had access to the lounge area for suite guests that had unlimited water, soda, beer and wine throughout the day (and honestly served as a great respite when we returned from our activities outside). We went every day! Concierge in the VIP lounge was terrific and took care of all of our needs. When you book suites, you have special elevators that go to the A,B,C,D and E floors and they are always very quick! (You need to put your key card in to select your floor.) We never saw our housekeepers, they came and went and never bothered us once and always had it ready. There is a refrigerator (small) and bar area in the suite so you can have your own drinks. Large bathroom, walk-in closet and nice dressing area. I highly recommend upgrading, it wasn't that much more, but we got incredible service and really did feel like a VIP.
Stayed here for two nights for a convention and did not like the hotel at all. Everything was outdated and in need of repair. Bathroom sink had a huge crack in it (room 20043) and the cold water flowed super slow. Toilet seat had a cigarette ash burn mark which was very unsightly and the tub drain had rust around it. The bathroom felt cramped and dirty. I was charged $36 resort fee for slow wifi, and $10 a night for parking. Bed was not bad and center strip location was good, with lots of places to eat close by. Would not stay here again.
Our kids bought us tickets to see Elton John in Las Vegas for Christmas! We used trip advisor with booking our hotel! Which was a smart choice! The Mirage is a beautiful hotel! Very friendly staff that liked their jobs! We ate most of our meals in the hotel, we really enjoyed the Pantry Restaurant. Colleen a waitress who served us a couple of times was very good! We also ate at the California Kitchen where they serve a good Caesar salad, and we enjoyed their fresh wild mushroom pizza. Our only complaint would be the price of a take out coffee anywhere on the property was over $5 which is pretty steep!Apparently the days of cheap food in Vegas is over, I can say this is certainly true!
Stayed here with the missus for 5 nights and we could not have been happier. I will get the 2 perceived negative points out the way:-1. WiFi is a bit sketchy so if that's important to you then be warned. Didn't bother us at all though.2. The food in the buffet restaurant is pretty grim. I would not recommend it there at all. There are so many positives to this hotel that I don't know how I can list them all but I will try:-1. The Heritage Steak restaurant is amazing for steaks. We told them it was the night after our wedding and they gave us 10% off our bill and a free bottle of wine & dessert. Fantastic service.2. The Pantry is fantastic for breakfast. The coffee is to die for. I had the hash 3 days in a row and would not have changed a thing. Fantastic friendly service also.3. The selection of Casino tables and machines is 2nd to none. The croupiers are friendly and helpful to newbies4. Location is ideal! Slap bang in the middle of the strip with easy access to other hotels (Venetian, Caesar's Palace)5. Staff very helpful. Reception sorted out an issue with the mini bar with minimal fuss and the baggage handlers looked after our luggage in a safe manner6. Rooms are large and comfy. We had 2 double beds which we pushed together. Bathroom and shower were excellent with good water temperature and pressure.7. The missus advises that the pool area was terrific (I was busy on the Blackjack table)All in all... An amazing experience. Thank you for a life defining trip which we cannot wait to do again
At the time of booking I was going with a friend and went for a double queen room- When he cancelled contacted Mirage and they kindly swapped me to a Tower Room King at no extra cost. This is exclusive to he 24th and 25th floors and private elevator. You can check in with the app 24 hours before and out any special requests. I asked for the best view I could get and not too far from the elevators. When I arrived you wait till you get a text to your phone, go to the kiosk and your room key(s) is/are dispensed. No lines.Clearly someone was reading the comments section as I had an amazing view of the volcano and strip - so much so I never closed the curtains. Good sized room , furnished well and heavily oversized bathroom with walk in shower , twin sinks and bath.Loved it- Also the private elevator saved time.Did not hear anyone at night - might be that I was too drunk to notice but what sleep I got was excellent. Check out done on the tv before I left.On the second day key did not work - by reception quickly gave me a replacement and said if problem again rather than come down use the phones in the hallway and someone who come up to me.Bar staff friendly and nice that all the cleaners acknowledge you - I really enjoyed my visit.Had a couple of hours down the pool - really nice surroundings - not really warm enough to swim but could image when warmer would be a good place to hang - loads of loungers.Pics show the main casino floor - my views of the strip from the room ( do I make a good 5th beatle!) and the pool area. Also while waiting for my room to be ready they had a preview of the Love show - rehearsal with commentary. Nice insight into the background - not sure if this is a daily thing (2pm) can walk in/ out anytime lasts about 25 mins.
