Let me start by stating that the problems were no fault of the hotel. Either by a faulty sprinkler, accident or maliciously a sprinkler went off in a room four doors down from my room on the 14th floor. I arrived back to my room at 9pm to see a river in the corridor with two security guards and three to four maintenance men working to find the valve to turn off the water. The fact that security and maintenance were there, plus the volume of water made me think that this was at least ten minutes in to the event. This took a further ten minutes or so for them to locate the correct valve. We had booked two rooms one was on the 14th floor (four doors down) and one was on the 11th floor (two floors directly below the affected room).Thankfully my room was spared being waterlogged despite the water being just at the door. Many others were not so fortunate. I called my companions two floors down and they were shocked at the unfolding drama. But we then soon realised they were directly below the incident and water was now slowly entering their room and cracks the width of the room started appearing in the ceiling. They called the front desk to alert them of the problem. In about 5 minutes a maintenance guy came and the electrics room opposite sounded like a shower was running in it. I suggested to him we could take some towels from the store next to us to try to prevent the water from seeping through to other guests below. Unfortunately someone closed the store between visits and we were unable to assist any further.Whilst it took about just under 60 minutes to get a new room. Staff were very pleasant and apologetic. Certainly there was much more pressing issues in trying to ensure the spread of water was limited as much as possible. When my companions had been moved to another room - I returned to my own room. The clean up operation was in full swing with about ten - twenty staff using carpet cleaners to remove the water and on ride on cleaners until at least 12 midnight whilst also talking and communications devices beeping away. If anything I was impressed by the number of staff mustered to help deal with this incident so late at night despite the very loud noise they were creating.Once they had completed this they then used 6-8 industrial fans to attempt to dry out the corridor and rooms. These ran all night and two were placed immediately outside my door. They were aware I was in my room as staff saw I was there and I even opened the door for one staff member to enter and check the room for any water damage. But never was I informed even with courtesy that they wished to have these operating all night directly outside my room or offered an alternative.I was pretty tired and placed headphones in and watched a movie before drifting off to sleep for the night. If I had not of had headphones with me I would most likely have called reception by midnight to ask for a room change. On waking the fans were still blowing away - even until check out time at 11am.Our party requested a late check out on one room and we were charged for this. When requesting an invoice for the airline before departing I was informed someone was already in my old room (they un-expectantly probably now enduring the industrial fans). I'm pretty sure the hotel mid week is not full and therefore it should have been a priority to relocate guests and keep new guests away from the area.Let me also state that we were not paying for the hotel rooms - this was being reclaimed from our airline as we were on a 23 hr delay. Even still we felt that the service recovery was poor in that resort fees were not refunded or late check out was not even granted complimentary for a few hours of inconvenience. It certainly would not have mattered financially to us if they did or didn't but the gesture would have been nice. This was our second stay at the Linq and overall the property is good with a great location. The rooms are on the smaller side by Las Vegas standards, basic but modern and relatively new. They are very good value overall unless booking in at the busy weekend pricing.Would I stay at the Linq again? - I would. It was just unfortunate that we were affected by this issue which was completely outside the control of the hotel but would have liked to see a bit more proactive assistance from staff. I Would however hope any future stay would not be as eventful.
Cleanliness of the casino floor, helpful staff and newer slot machines plus the nightly band performance at the LINQ surroundings. The Holloween displays outside the LINQ is good for picture taking with friends and family.
Very attractive Las Vegas property. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. They are a little confusing to find but once one gets the layout of the hotel it becomes easier. The negative aspect was the continual sales pitch near the check in counter from Wyndom properties attempting to get you to attend a seminar where they try to get you to committ to a timeshare. Annoying!! We would stay here again.
Only booked this hotel because my friends son was staying here. From the minute I walked into the hotel the over powering smell of scent was worse then any hotel I stayed at in Vegas if you have allergies stay away. I still am having problems breathing. You cannot smell it in your room. Not all hotels in Vegas have this overpowering scent. I never gambled here on past trips wish I had because I would not have booked a room. The rooms are small, pocket door for the bathroom, drape to the closet. Saturday it was crowded. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay or under 35 this hotel might be for you. They never cleaned our waste basket, any glass you brought up from the casino stayed in our room for the entire stay. Had to call for toilet paper? There was no sun at the pool after 1 or 2 o'clock. The only plus is you are right in the middle of strip. Hotel overall was clean.
The room was basic, but the mattress was phenomenal. I loved the hotel being centrally located in the strip. The dining options were very good also. I would say Hash House A Go Go is a must no matter where you choose to stay!
