Enjoyed our stay!

We had previously stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu a few times, but wanted to save a little money and try out a new area, so we decided to try out the Kauai Beach Resort. This is a nice hotel, pretty clean and right on the beach although the beach is not really swimmable. There are no other resorts or other buildings around it, so it’s nice and isolated. I took several runs up and down the beach, which is pretty nice. The resort’s restaurants are decent as well. Valet is complementary although there is a daily resort fee. The buildings are in decent shape but there are rust spots showing up in various places inside (e.g. elevator) and out and overall the resort is showing its age a little bit. We did like the locations as it’s easy to reach restaurants in Kapa’a and it’s easier to drive around the island from here than from Poipu. It’s not quite the Hyatt but I think we might come back here!

“Best Resort - Best Staff”Reviewed 3 days ago NEWThe resort is amazing! Beautiful pool and grounds, extremely clean rooms and surroundings, many great activities that the resort provides, reasonable rates, and most importantly, awesome staff!!! We have been to Hawaii over 25 times and this trip to Kauai was the best due to the true aloha spirit given to my husband and I from every employee that we came in contact with. There are two incredible women, Liz Y (Front Desk Supervisor) and Faith R (towel station) that we need to single out. We have never met employees, especially these two women, who are so professional yet so warm and treated us like family. We will definitely be back next year! If you want the true aloha feeling - this is the resort to go to! Thanks Liz and Faith! You are our ohana!

Great rooms, Amazing views and friendly staff

My wife and I stayed here for a week and the stay could not have been better. The one bedroom suite is cavernous and has two ocean view patios. Loved our stay and could not have been happier with the friendly staff and good food at the restaurant. The pools are nice too if that’s your thing, the salt water sand entry was great. Recommend it over the larger less intimate and significantly more expensive resorts.

So I was debating if I was going to write this review or not until I got a letter in the mail about this incident that I had at the resort. So I fly into Lihue and rent a car and drive out to the resort. I valet as I always do. I pull like every trip and unload my luggage and walk up and give the keys to the valet. He gives me my ticket and jumps in and drives away. This goes on for three days. On the third day I come down get the valet to bring me my car. I jump in and am driving away. I look down and see that there's a big "X" on the drivers side rear quarter panel. It has not been there for the past three days. So I turn around and go back to the valet. I walk up there and ask what does the big "X" mean and when did it happen. The valet says well lets go take a look. We walk over and there's a dent in the quarter panel. I asked them when did this happen and who noticed it? He said he had no idea who put the x there or who noticed it. I told them I want to file a report with the resort because it was not there and I think that one of the valet did the damage. Security comes down and we are looking at the damage and talking about it and they tell me it was already there. I ask them can I see the log book that states who found the damage and the date and time? They tell me they don't keep a log on info like that. I ask well how do I know who put the x there? She told me let me do a investigation and I will get back to you. The next day I have to call security because they never called me back as they said they would. Security tells me we investigated the incident and the damage was there the first day I checked in. She said our valet walks around each and every vehicle and checks for damage before they take the car. I said that is not even close to being true. That I have never seen them do that. So the day I checked in I went from the car rental straight to the resort and gave the car to valet. I showed her my paper work from the car rental showing her the three areas that myself and the rental agent marked on the inspection. It had the agents initials on each area. There was nothing on the left quarter panel. So that evidence I showed them caught them in the first lie. The second one was that after I showed them all the damage that myself and the rental agent marked three days prior caught them in the lie that they check each and every car. So the last morning when I picked up the car all of a sudden all the areas of damage I showed them magically appeared on the valet inspection for. So I get a letter from Thomas Razee ( Chief Claims Examiner) stating that after his investigation that he was not able to approve my request for damages to my rental car. Funny I never got a call from him and I even tried to talk to the resort manager twice during this so called investigation and both times he was to busy. So instead of doing a true investigation and talking to me he went with that his valet employees do know wrong. So I will post the 2 photos of my rental car vehicle condition report along with their check in slip. On the rental one you can see each area that had damage and the left rear quarter panel that did not have damage. On theirs you can see the X that shows the damage that they said they found at check in and then the little circles that they marked after I showed those areas to security 3 days later. In the past 8 weeks I have stayed at this resort 3 different times for a week each time so I did like the resort. However, it only takes a few dishonest employees, a manager and a guy sitting in a office that has no idea what he is even investigating because he never talked to me to ruin the resort for me. I can't and won't stay at this resort again because I was not a customer I am just a number. So my advice to anyone staying there if you valet do NOT leave the car with them until they physically walk around the car with you there. I suggest to the resort that you start keeping a log so you can prove without a doubt that your employs are not damaging customers cars

Nice place

This place is a very large resort! But it has 4 pools, which seemed like plenty, they were never crowded! They have 2 hot tubs. Our room was quite large with its own A/C & a small deck with 2 chairs. The building was very well maintained as well as the rooms. Maid kept it very clean! Very friendly staff. Kauai resort is in a great location to go see the sights, It was right in the middle! Love is quite a big city and has a Costco. You pay a resort fee, and parking is free. My husband chose to go get and park the Corvette we rented, but you can have the valets do it.We would come here again, it's not super fancy, but it's nice!
