The positives:It was a good place for our family of 4. Spacious rooms, updated kitchen, lovely patio with lounge chairs. The beds were comfortable, dining area was great. The garden view from the patio was nice. Very close to the pool. Beautiful walk to the Grand Hyatt next door. The negatives:The pool was closed for construction and there was noise all day from the equipment. No central AC. The bedrooms had portable ACs, but they were very noisy. Hard to sleep with them turned on. The living room furniture looked old. Worst issue was that the washer and dryer did not work well. They left black marks on some of our clothes and a few small holes.
My husband & I and our 4 months twin boys stayed there for a week. I have to admit this place is the best for families especially with children. Very quiet, nice, clean place, kind staff with ALL facilities any family is looking for. I love this place & I wish it has other branches in another cities. I highly recommend it. Have fun❤️
My husband, 2 teenagers, and I stayed here for 5 nights. We booked through Costco and were given unit 712. This is NOT a place you'd want to spend your vacation - it hasn't been updated in years, the master bath has a weird repair job in the shower, the hall bath has a tub with ground in stains, and no AC what so ever. We went back and spoke to the night staff in the office who agreed with the state of affairs based upon the pictures we showed him. The next morning we spoke to the manager who agreed to move us to 812, but we had to wait an additional night. This is the unit you want! Beautifully updated, spacious, central air! Management was wonderful and waived the resort fee and credited us one night's stay. Loved the location of the resort and everything about Kauai! If you want to stay here, I think you should book direct and specify the unit that you'd like. It's so nice having the 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, washer and dryer when traveling with teens.
While unit 322 was clean and the reception staff was wonderful, the unit had the following:-moldy washer-dishwasher falling apart -old moldy throw pillows (get rid of all of them)-pillowcases didn't fit pillows -kitchen pots and pans were old, worn and warped (need new ones)-some coffee in the kitchen but nothing like salt and pepper, napkins etc -ocean view only gives you a tiny view of the ocean-beach towels smelled like mold probably due to the mold in washer-bed sheets were very scratchy and pillows hard and uncomfortable (have an assortment of different types so people can pick which works best)-no beach chairs or umbrellas in unit although u may be able to get them from front desk-rugs at a beach resort are always gross -furniture looks like it's from my grandmothers house in he 1920sAll in all it's fine for a crash pad to use to go visit the rest of the island but it's not a unit I would want to stay and hang out in.
We loved the condo! Wonderful facility, close to the beach and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked, bedrooms are all a good size and separated from each other. The layout worked well and gave us some private space. Bbq facility was also close to our lanai. It was the perfect place to stay and allowed us to cook most meals and save a lot of money. Also, kalapacki Joe's is within walking distance. Easy to take advantage of a great happy hour and enjoy some live music.
