Great place

Kiahuna was a great experience. Good condos amongst well kept grounds. Condo was as promised and the car it came with was a big plus. Seaside view from the Kiahuna was spectacular specially at sunset. If we ever get a chance to be back I will definitely choose Kiahuna.

Kauai Nice place to stay

The outrigger chain manages this property and they do it very well. Any problems at all they are very quick to resolve them. Only had one issue, 1 of the elements on the stove burnt out and it was replaced in about an hour. The 1 bedroom condo was very clean and the furniture was in good shape. Resort staff were very friendly and accommodating. During our stay there was noise issues, but that was from the neighboring property that was being renovated. During the day we were mostly away and the noise stopped usually by 4 PM. There is a wonderful mall just across the street with shopping and wonderful restaurants as well. There is also a restaurant on the property, unfortunately we did not get a chance to try it this stay. This location is on the south side of Kauai and has the most sun shine and warmer temps. Great beaches in the area Poipu Beach park is minutes away. great kids area at the "Baby Beach" part . The property has its own beach but it is more suited for good swimmers and adult supervision for the little ones is recommended! I would go back to this property in the future..

Could have been very nice with a little attention from the hotel

My family and I booked room 212 for a family vacation. The room is a two story with kitchen and living room upstairs and bedrooms on the bottom. The lay out is nice for a family and we never heard any of the neighbors sharing our walls. The furniture and kitchen is functional, but very dated. The best attribute of the hotel is the location and the grounds. The beach is great for snorkeling or swimming and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. There is a small shopping center right across the street with a starbucks, a few restaurants and a small market for essentials. The pool is not actually located on the grounds but instead a 5 minute walk to the sports club across the street. The pool and gym were very nice and a bar and grille was attached with pool side service. After seeing the mad house the Hyatt and Marriott pools were, I appreciated the off site pool a great deal. A few of my complaints....Old electric oven: We bought a frozen pizza that calls for 425 and our old oven could only muster 375. Still got cooked, but it took a little longerTowels: No daily cleaning and towels get refreshed once a week in the middle of your stay. I reuse a towel at home for a week or so before I wash it, so it really isnt a big deal, but with the amount of showers we were taking and the humidity, it was hard to get them dry. A heated towel rack would have been useful. They also forgot to refresh our towels mid week, so it compounded the drying issue. The view: Its the best part if the place by far, and worth every penny, except for one thing, as you can see from my pics, construction equipment adorned my 5k view. I bring this up because it would seem to me that the management should have the ware with all to ask the crews to maybe lower the buckets on the cherry pickers so they arent right smack dab in the middle of my sunset. Petty???? Yes, but I paid for that sunset and some attention from the hotel could have improved my experience. Noise: During our stay, a county crew was intermittently working on a water main right outside of our patio (more backhoes in my paradise view). I get the fact that maintenance must be done, but for some reason, and without any warning from the hotel, the crew pulled an all nighter, complete with jackhammers, saws, generators, bright construction lights and yelling from 10pm to 5am.....it sucked!!!!!! Again. Things happen and things must be repaired but we had no notice of the activity from the hotel and per the water department, they had notified all the surrounding hotels and picked the best night to complete the repairs. Some notice and maybe a 20 dollar starbucks card from the front desk would have made the best of a bad situation. Probably will not return to the Kiahuna.

#407 = great stay!

We had a wonderful four days enjoying Kauai, and Kiahuna Plantation #407 was a terrific home base. Fully equipped apartment with all we needed - kitchen stocked with dishes and utensils to make your own meals, with convenient gas grill right outside the door. Comfy king bed with great linens. This unit is at the corner of the property. Initially I was a little concerned about road noise from nearby Poipu Road, but honestly that didn't bother us at all - hardly heard any noise. Breakfast on the lanai, sharing a crumb or two with the local birds was a great way to start the day. Poipu and Brennecke's Beaches are within easy walking distance, and are picture perfect Hawaiian beaches. Beautiful! A couple of the local monk seals thought so, too - sunbathing on the beach every morning we were there. The owners were prompt in their responses, and were great to work with. Will definitely contact them again should our travels return us to Kauai!

Make sure you know where your condo is,,

I didn’t and got a condo right next to the road which is very busy. The noise never stopped. Also the gardeners are there seemingly all the time so it prevented me from having a very quiet relaxing time. Other than that the grounds are beautiful and the beach is nice. The pool is across the street and I haven’t it visited yet but I’ve heard it’s not great. And I just love laying out by pool. it’s in the shopping center as well. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again
