Koloa Landing Resort
- What's Included
My husband and I just returned from 6 days of bliss at the Koloa Landing Resort. We had a fabulous time! We met Jeff, one of the owners after our first morning workout led by a fantastic personal trainer, Syndey. The resort provides these daily workouts for free. Jeff took time to sit with us and mark trails we should hike, recommend restaurants and other activities and gave us the best spot to snorkel. We ate in the restaurant for lunch, twice, dinner once, and breakfast once. Service was incredible and the food was delicious! We went to the Spa twice and enjoyed each of our treatments. THere is an Enterprise rental person on the property so it was easy to rent a car to explore the island for a few days. We were not traveling with kids, so we spent time by the serenity (adult only) pool and it was very relaxing. The staff is very helpful, they have complimentary van service to the nearby restaurants if you don't have a car. I got a text midway through our stay asking if everything was as expected and asking if we were enjoying our stay. I would Highly recommend staying at this resort. It was about 30 minutes from the airport on the South side of the island, which is the best side to stay in winter months.
Welcome to my family’s version of hell. Below is what Koloa Landing Resort calls a “deluxe full ocean view”. AKA a view of the pool full of screaming kids, the loudest waterfalls, pool music, and maybe 25% ocean view. It may as well be a water park outside our room. My ears literally ring when I go inside. I love children and families, but not all day every day on our relaxing dream vacation, and not when I was expecting something completely different. The resort refuses to apologize and stands by this being a full ocean view. I believe that our view is the very definition of a “partial ocean view” per their own website!!! Admit you made a mistake, apologize, and make it right Koloa. That will go much further. I will say that if you looking for a family friendly resort this is a great place. The pool is huge and includes waterfalls (quite loud outside room all day and night though), a slide, and fountains for the kids to play in. The rooms are large and very clean. Bottom line, deplorable customer service.
My now-husband and I absolutely loved this resort for our honeymoon in Kauai. The weather was less than ideal so we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful pool as much as we would have liked, but it was still such a wonderful resort to stay at. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the staff is super friendly. It is, however, not directly on the beach. The closest sand beach is in front of the Sheraton down the road maybe a 5 minute walk or a 2 minute drive. It was also located in close proximity to all of the activities we had planned on the south shore and east side of the island which meant we didn't have to get up ridiculously early on our vacation. Definitely would visit this resort again!
Added to the Marriott family in July 2017, Koloa Landing is a tastefully done, modern Poipu Beach Resort. Buildings #7,8,11 have "one bedroom suites" with kitchenette and laundry- all less than 12 months old. very modern and stylish. Grill at poolside is standard resort fare and attentiveness. Many enjoy this, we didn't. Fitness room and business center are well appointed and both stay busy. Parking is not easy, there is an underground deck near buildings 5-11. Pools are central and a variety for famileis and seclusive for couples, both offered. Staff are all very attentive and follow the Marriott policy of many "hellos, can I be of assistance". All tasteful. If we have the plans to return to Poipu, (prefer Princeville over the 5 years), we'll stay here. Autograph Collections are a unique decor, and well done.
We got to stay there for 10 days and had a wonderful relaxing stay! The grounds are beautiful, but beach access is a half mile walk away. The staff was professional, ( especially during the ballistic missile warming scare),facilities met our needs, and the apartment was a nice size! Only complaints: the sofa bed was HORRIBLE! You could feel the springs just under the cover. Our son chose to sleep on the couch unopened! Also— there was no full length mirror or small mirror that you could look at something close-up. And the kitchen could use some measuring cups and spoons! None of these ( except the sofa bed ) would be a deal breaker.
