Koloa Landing Resort
- What's Included
Should have known given the price compared to other resorts in the area. Okay, but nothing special. Paid extra for an ocean view --do not bother. Along with the "view" of the water we have the back of someone's messy yard and multiple electric lines. Definitely should not be charging extra for an ocean view in building 8. Room is nice and decently stocked for a studio. If you want quiet and some shade try the lagoon pool. The adult only pool has no shade, unless you pay extra for a cabana, is right next to the pool with a water slide, the bar with loud music and does not have enough lounge chairs to accommodate guests -- note this is not peak season and still not enough chairs. Property is not well laid out. Most annoying is that there is no parking at our building so we are parking way beyond building 9 behind us. Would not opt to stay at this property in the future.
My wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and it was perfect! The staff was awesome! the room was beautiful, and how can you beat Kauai! they had just finished their new pool and it blew our minds!
This was a great place to stay , we stayed in standard room which was fine bed was excellent all renovations completed, pool to suit everyone did not really eat there except for pool snacks, plenty nice reasturants nearby also made use of kitchenette, go to local farmers market ( Monday) fresh food is very good. Good place to explore rest of Kauai, good idea to hire a car prices are reasonable. Would return.
Koloa landing is a true paradise. There is something for everyone at this resort. The service was the best that we have ever experienced. The room was impeccably clean and well maintained. The huge sliding glass doors onto the patio made our room seem like an extension of the island itself. We could open the doors and feel the ocean breeze and take in the beauty of Kauai. The pools are amazing. The water slide was fun for the children and adults. The exercise room was more than adequate. Grills are available for use poolside, or you can enjoy food and a beverage from the cabana near the pool as well. We will be staying here every time that we visit Kauai. We have found paradise and would never go anywhere else.
We stayed on the ocean side of this resort in Bldg. 10, which had just been completed. Our "room" consisted of a sitting area, a dining area, a full kitchen, a separate bedroom and a two room bath. We also had a lanai which could be entered from the sitting area and from the bedroom. The bedroom had a large glass door, which gave a great view of the large pool (the largest of three), the grounds, and of the ocean. The sitting area and lanai had similar views. The room also had a built in washer and dryer. The water temp in the pools was comfortable. Each pool also had at least one hot tub nearby. Lots of kids in the large pool and using the water slide. The other two pools were quieter, especially the adults only pool. Although there was no formal restaurant, there was a grill which is partially covered but otherwise completely outdoors. The food here was consistently wonderful. We ordered the Catch of the Day every day because it was soooo good. Each day, the meals were different, but they were consistently excellent. We were in the islands for 3 weeks and this was the best food on a consistent basis that we experienced. By all means, try to get an Oceanside room. Especially avoid the non-ocean side of Building 10 because of the bad view. This resort just finished some major, major construction, and the remnants of the dirt and equipment constituted the view from the "wrong" side of Building 10. Otherwise the construction has been completed, and it is no longer an issue at all.The resort was offering substantial discounts to lure people back after the construction. So it was a good value. The staff was uniformly friendly and responsive to us. We give them an A+ for that. There is ample parking. It is a short walk to the beach as the resort is really not on the beach. Mainly because of the pools and the large rooms, laundry, etc., we rate this place as extremely kid and family friendly. But it is also close to Port Allen for boat rides, to horse back riding, to Waimea Canyon, and to the National Botanic Garden. It is on the dry and sunny side of Kauai.Overall, if we visit Kauai again, we would stay here again with pleasure.
