Koloa Landing Resort
- What's Included
Fantastic resort. Loved the new pool area. However more umbrella's are needed as it gets hot if you miss out. So get to the pool early to find a spot under an umbrella. We stayed in a 2 bedroom partial ocean view room in building 1. The rooms were huge especially the main bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The balcony was also huge and a great area to relax. Enjoyed the location of building 1 also. Overall very impressed and would highly recommend for groups of friends and families to come and stay here. Enjoyed the location although not beachfront its only about a 10min walk down the road to enjoy the beach outside the Sheraton Resort. There is also plenty of restaurants and shops a 5min walk away. The resort has a small shop too that supplies some basics which was handy. We will definitely return to stay here again. Very helpful staff especially as our friends were travelling with a baby. We ate at the restaurant a few times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and were very impressed by the quality of the food and service of the staff. The breakfast is not your normal buffet style its a breakfast al a carte menu the servings are very large. Overall I would highly recommend a stay here and we will be coming back again.
My husband and I enjoyed the entirety of Koloa Landing Resort. We especially liked having a very small kitchen to prepare meals. There are several pools - one very large lagoon with water falls and one with slide, infinity pool in one area which tends to be quite crowded with families enjoying this great pool area for kids. Any family with kids would like this.My husband and I are in our 60s and we just liked the tranquility and other smaller pools which were pretty quiet, yet very nice. A very relaxing place.Rooms were cleaned well daily and room was very clean and updated. Liked it a lot. We called to ask for a blender and it was brought immediately. The staff were all kind and friendly.Downside: 1) our room's balcony was in a noisy area with a bad view. It was noisy day and night with staff and construction work. So, no sitting out there. 2) the restaurant wasn't particularly good and very expensive as was the bar. No happy hour. No servers came to the other pools to offer drinks which is definitely a downside they missed on making money and serving their guests. I think the property is a bit overpriced for us as we didn't need the big lagoon pools with the entertainment factor for kids. But, we enjoyed our stay.
Very nice hotel- rooms have all modern amenities. Pools fantastic. Restaurant/bar/food options very limited. Closest swimmable beach is a good 10 plus minute walk, but great snorkel spots, turtle spotting, and sunset watching. Also rooms are well equipped, but a tiny salt/pepper- thats it, and some coffee. No spices, condiments, beach accessories or things like that which come with some condos. It is still an awesome place to stay- we slept great, enjoyed ourselves immensely, Its close to two shopping centers with restaurants/shops. You pay a nightly rate for non secure wifi and parking
We stayed in block 7, room 302 and had a view of the sea from the corner of the lanai and the new pool from the main part of the lanai. This was a one bedroom in the old part of the resort -but still fantastic. The decor was upmarket and it was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable we had a great nights sleep. The new pool was complete but as two adults on our own without kids we used the tranquility pool behind our block for peace and quiet. The resort is located within walking distance of two shopping complexes with extremely good restaurants covering all price ranges.
We just returned from a 7 night stay and while everything was not 100% perfect during our stay, the resort staff did their best to make things right.Pros: ScenicRelaxing (especially the Tranquility pool)Awesome Pools (my kid LOVED the new one- it's fantastic)Huge-spacious 2 BR Villa (the kitchen and master bedroom/bath were great & the wrap around lanai was awesome!) Friendly Housekeeper-she made sure we had everything we neededGreat family-oriented games/sports (soccer, volleyball, miniature golf) Nice gymWalking distance to stores and restaurants Cons: The s'mores were nice; however, it would have been great to have more family-focused activities, games, entertainment, etc., at the new pool during the day. The food and drinks at the pool were good, but felt overpriced and the servers were not attentive, you had to track them down or they just walked past you without asking if you needed anything. Upon check-in, I was concerned that a $500 per night room came with stained & dirty furniture and rugs- I expected something much nicer. While the check-in guy wasn't happy with my call/concern that night, Tim showed up the next day to apologize and brought in a team to try to clean the items that concerned me. Yes, the items were still stained when they left, but the fact that they tried to fix things, made me feel a little better about the situation. He stated that they were planning to update the furniture in the near future. Lastly, I tried to take advantage of my Marriott Gold status and requested a late check-out since we had a 5:30PM flight and I knew that housekeeping came late in the day (around 4) everyday. I was denied at first; however, someone called back about 5 minutes later to say that we could check out late. Little did they know that this simple gesture made the difference between a good vacation and a great vacation. We were able to enjoy the resort and villa for the rest of the day, which helped since we arrived so late on the previous Saturday. It also made me feel as if the Marriott Gold status is respected at this resort (some resorts don't care about it). So a huge THANK YOU to the person that made that decision! We plan to visit a different island the next time we're in Hawaii, but I'm pretty sure we will visit Koloa Landing again. Aloha!
