Koloa Landing Resort
- What's Included
My fiancé booked this hotel because she trusts the Marriott brand, and we have been blown away by our experience at the Koloa Landing property. The pools, the room, the staff & service, the location on this island so close to Poipu Beach were all 5-star! This place has an intimate Luau that was by far the most enjoyable I have experienced; by far the BEST food and cocktails I've ever had at a Hawaiian Luau. So, pick this place over anywhere else on Kauai.
I absolutely love this place. This will be the second time we have visited this resort and we will be going back in October. First of all, the beds are awesome. They are soft which is important for a comfortable nights sleep. The one bedroom units have a washer and dryer which is so convenient. It also private. We love staying here because we can do our own thing. No need for a valet because of how the resort is set up. The crew tending to the rooms are very polite and helpful. The girls at the front desk are friendly as well. I like the fact that there is a full kitchen and full fridge. It's like a home away from home. It's set up so that if you want privacy and to do your own thing you can or if you are a mingler than you can do that too.
After a week on the big island, my family wanted a larger place and I really wanted laundry. We chose Koloa Landing for both and for the location in Poipu. The pool was an added bonus. Overall it is a very nice hotel. The room we stayed in was new, beautifully decorated with cool local art, was clean, and offered a good location to the pool and walk to the beach (15 minutes).I have to say, however, the hotel seemed to lack a soul. The front desk wasn't very friendly, the maids looked miserable and stressed, the pool attendants just responded to questions without a smile. I felt like I was staying in a condo instead of a luxury resort on the beautiful island of Kauai. We used Marriott Rewards points for our room so it was very inexpensive. As a result, can't complain much. We enjoyed the space, location and pool, but otherwise, nothing special here. I hope they learn to do a better job connecting with guests in the future. This resort shouldn't just provide the facilities, they should help their guests feel the Aloha.
We spent 6 days in this resort. The buildings do not present anything original even if the resort is nice. Condos are extremely well equipped with dining room and separate sleeping room. Only negative point : while I admit it is a condo we should expect that all beds be made at our arrival. Our son was sleeping in the sofa bed but the bed was not made. We spent some time to finally find linen and do it ourself. Not a big deal but somewhat unpleasant The resort includes 4 pools including one lagoon-style and one equipped with slides for great pleasure of kids. The pools.are really beautiful and exceptional BBQs available near the pool and very clean.Staff is very pleasant and very keen to answer to your questionsThe resort is somewhat far from the beach (10-15mns walk and no services available frombthevresort) and you need to take the car to go the shopping centers or restaurants. Overall, a very good journey in this condo, highly recommendable for familiesWill come back for our next trip to Kauai
This resort is beautiful. Upon check in, you'll be greeted with fresh flower leis for the girls and wooden shell leis for the guys. Our first two nights, we stayed in a studio. Studio was decent size with a kitchenette. The plus is that it has 2 electric burner and kitchen supplies. Additionally, in-room washer and dryer. It's a little tight for a family of 5. And so, we opt for a bedroom villa the next two nights. The villa is 2-3 times larger than a studio. Full kitchen, dining room and living room. A full bath and shower room. The room is clean and new. Very modern cabinetry, yet with a traditional Hawaiian feel. The resort just went through a renovation so best to stay at this resort if you plan on going to Kauai soon. Btw, a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and a liter of water awaits you in the room. Got it twice since we checked in twice. Yay!!!The grounds are well groomed. There's a soccer field, a volleyball court and a small putting green. There are 3 pools in the resort. We mainly used the main pool with infinity pool, slides, and waterfalls. Very enjoyable. The downside: no beach access, but very short drive to Poipu beach. The bed is too soft for my comfort. Kids complained about the feel of the springs of the sofa bed. Reason why the 4 stars rating.
