Outrigger at Lae nani
- What's Included
Our first stay 2015 was 5 star. Unit was clean, up to date, well furnished, user friendly kitchen with all we needed for prepping meals and beach stuff. We booked a different unit this time VRBO#340404. Smelled of mildew, advertised to sleep 4 but really 2 adults and a kid according to the owner. Kitchen was sparsely supplied, couch to uncomfortable to hang out and watch tv, cleanliness was marginal, drawers on dresser all broken and fall inward when pulled open and the window would not close for noise reduction. They did have a lot of beach stuff though and that was nice.
The gated resort's beautifully maintained gardens make this place worth the stay! There is also beach and pool access. Our condo was adequate for our stay but could use a deep cleaning(especially since there is a $150.00 cleaning fee upon departure) and wifi (who doesn't have wifi these days-be sure to ask if your condo will).
Very well maintained property. The site consists of private units, and rentals let out by Outrigger Resort. The main office is situated about 5 mins drive at the Waipouli Resort.A beautifully maintained gated resort situated on a small beach. A vast lawn next to the shore with beautiful gardens. Our oceanfront suite was well maintained with plentiful balcony furniture, well equipped kitchen and enough bedding and towels for our weeks’ stay. Which you changed yourself. If you wanted daily maid service a charge of $150 was made. Despite having to pay $150 mandatory charge at the end of the week to have the apartment cleaned, the resort and cleaning charges does rack up the cost of your stay quite a bit.The pool area had plentiful supply of sunbeds, but no umbrellas. This was an issue throughout the property, as there was very little shade to be had. The wifi in the room was excellent, the television took a bit of getting used to, it is a smart television so you can use your own Netflix and Amazon account. The beach area was not suitable for swimming as there were” Strong Current” warnings signs. There is a shallow cordoned off rock pool for young children which is very shallow and quite safe.Being a public beach – people were wandering onto the property to get to the beach- and on many days family groups were sitting at the limited shaded areas, although security was patrolling, they didn’t seem inclined to move these people off the property. This left paying guests with nowhere shaded to sit.All in all a good location to explore the island, with plenty of food outlets and shops nearby. Perhaps a small bar on site might make this resort less sole less. With no sun loungers allowed on the beach, no sun umbrellas supplied, and the extra add on Cleaning Fees, does spoil it some.
Quiet and homey. It varies immensely by which condo you rent. Some are beautifully and lovingly furnished and maintained and others are sparse and tired. The two bedroom ones have washer and dryer and two lanais. All share gated parking and pool and ocean views and a beach. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Security is good. Location is good...close to restaurants, shopping, activities, but on a quiet road. There are 3 restaurants in walking distance along with coconut shopping area.
I chose this Resort by looking online and I thought the view and grounds looked like what I wanted. I will say, no pictures or videos can ever do this place justice. Between the view of the ocean from our balcony and the actual grounds, I can honestly say this is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I never saw lawn maintenance or anyone working but this place is stunning. Even the parking area was filled with beautiful plants. I was worried a little because the condos have no air conditioning but they are made to let wind pass through them and it was very comfortable the entire time. Food and shopping are a short walk away but not really visible from inside the resort. Definitely want to stay here again!
