Sheraton Kauai Resort
- What's Included
My daughter and I needed somewhere to stay overnight and we were pleasantly surprised with the cute and clean accommodations. The hospitable staff made our stay all the more pleasant. We felt safe and comfortable. You cannot beat the value :)
We stayed here the first night we arrived on the island as we needed a place close to the airport. The staff was super nice with us the whole time and the room was clean and nicely decorated for a motel! I am not a fan of AC so was quite happy with our ceiling fan room but you can certainly ask for a room equipped with AC. The bathroom had a window and they provided towels and shampoo. The view from the balcony is on a grassy field and you can see the beautiful mountains as well. Coffee is provided in the morning until 9 am but the motel is also closed to many local restaurants and bakeries. For example it is very close to the local brewery, the Kauai Beer Company, which is certainly a plus when you are exhausted from all the hiking and swimming and need a place to eat and have a pleasant evening just 2 minutes from your hotel! We then book an additional 2 nights at the end of our holiday as this is surely a nice option if you are looking for a quite cheap solution (or at least compared to Kauai prices in general).
We were given a room on the first floor. A basic room with clean linen and a functional toilet and bath. Since the idea was to remain outdoors most of the day, we didn't want a fancy and expensive place to spend just the night if the room and surroundings were neat and clean enough. Reviews on Trip Advisor greatly helped making a choice in this respect. The staff was very good and helpful but for one particular lady who could do with some lessons on courtesy and polite behaviour. With some eating joints at walking distances, the place is quite good for people who don't want to spend a fortune just on night accommodation. All in all, an excellent value for money place.
This was our second stay at this hotel, the previous being 3 years ago. In that time little has changed in this quaint hotel. Yes it is tired but it is clean and extremely friendly. We had a total of 5 rooms for the one night stay over before moving to our holiday accommodation in Poipu and with rates of only $88 per room per night you will not find anywhere cheaper on the island. We all had a good nights sleep then walked to Dani's restaurant nearby for an excellent breakfast. Because of the old and tired building I cannot give Kauai Palms an overall 5 star rating but it is well worth 4 stars.
We arrived late on a Thursday night and we needed a place to stay the night before we went to our resort Friday. I was actually happy with what I found. It was small but clean. We had 2 twin beds a stall shower in the restroom and a kitchenette including fridge, microwave and hot plate with pans. A window AC was enough to cool the room quickly. This is a very quaint motel! I would definitely stay there again! Everyone was friendly, the location is easy to find. Check out at 11am was also helpful!
