Next day flight

Stayed at the Hilton to eliminate the horrendous drive to the airport with our rental return only 2 blocks away. Very nice facility with many services available. Took advantage of the trolley service to Manhattan Beach. Far less expensive than driving and paying for parking. Great help from the honors desk and the concierge. Surprised there was no room refrigerator. Otherwise a good though brief stay convenient to the airport.

GOOD HOTEL VERY CLOSE TO LAX

The Hilton LAX is very close to the airport and is a good place to stay before or after your flight. They have a nice package with a room and parking available if you are only going to be gone for a few days. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and there are several restaurants inside the hotel. There is a convenient airport shuttle that operates 24 hours per day.

It costs an extra $200 just to check in

When I went to check in for my 4 night stay I apparently needed my full price for the hotel, but also another $200 for a "refundable deposit", This was totally insane. I had enough for the nights but not the additional deposit. I offered to pay for the first night since I was also getting paid the next day, but was told that they would have to cancel my previous reservation and there was no guarantee that I would be able to get the room after that because they were busy. since I had no other options, my previous reservation was cancelled and I would have to just hope that I could get a room for my other 3 nights. This is horrible customer service!! I called the Marriott just down the street and booked my other 3 nights and I was NOT charged an additional $200 for a deposit. So as a result of that I spent my money at the Marriott and I have no intention of staying at this Hilton again.

Fabulous visit

I recently visited with my husband and two teenage girls. We arrived early for a weekend convention and were able to upgrade to a two-room suite. The extra space was fantastic and the staff was very responsive to our additional requests (we had a package shipped to the hotel and requested extra towels and a refrigerator). We'll definitely stay here for the convention next year!

Executive Lounge is not really Executive - and other service missteps

For Hilton HHonors Diamond members, the access to the Executive Lounge is an OK benefit for breakfast but quite disappointing for the evening reception and desserts. In addition to the room being extremely crowded, with standing room only, the selections are sparse. For example, the dessert time is from 7 pm to 9 pm, and at 8:22 pm, there were 3 cookies on a plate - the extent of the dessert offerings.The Diamond profile states "room away from the elevator" and we were placed in room 1320, immediately next to the elevators. As such, we heard the annoying ring of elevator buttons all night and morning.The shower is of Motel 8 quality - or worse. All in all, for the price,this Hilton is way below a good value. There are too many other terrific choices near the LAX area. Next time, we will go elsewhere.
