Location: 10 to 20 minutes away from downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Westwood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and the San Fernando Valley. The J. Paul Getty Center, UCLA campus and the Skirball Cultural Center are 5 minutes away.

Great Location for a weekend getaway

My husband brought me here for a weekend getaway from the Arizona heat. The hotel is easily accessible; right off of the highway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size for the two of us. On the 13th floor there is a restaurant that offers a view of the highway and some mountain views. The food and drinks were pricy but delicious!! No complaints there! The location was pretty close to points of interest such as Bel Air, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica, Malibu, and the Getty Museum. Lastly they had a complimentary evening wine hour during our stay. Reasons for taking off one star:-Forced Valet: They make you use their valet service, there is not self-parking option. Luckily the site we booked through gave us a voucher for complimentary valet-No free WiFi: internet is not included with your stay. Again, the site we booked through gave us a voucher for complimentary Wi-Fi. But the free WiFi nwas pretty bad (4 Mbps)-Highway noise: being right off of a major highway, if you open your patio door you will be greeted by the sound of cars zooming down the highway. However, the closed door muffles most of the sound. I grew up near a highway so this didn't bother me at all, but if you are sensitive to sound, this may be something to consider.

Just not a pleasant stay for various reasons

We checked in late in the evening and there was no place close by for food - no fault of the hotel. Went to the rooftop for breakfast and it was not just overpriced but received spoiled ham or it was not cured - I got a stomach upset that afternoon. Even the toast was not good. Had the breakfast been okay, maybe I would have rated the place a 3 star. You have to pay to use the business center desktop. The lady in the lobby cafe was good at preparing smoothies.

Great value, nice customer service

Needed a hotel at the last minute in west LA. Got an amazing deal on their website last minute, but did not expect how excellent my stay would be. First of all join "Inner Circle" on their web site and you get free Valet (valuable in LA where parking is expensive!) and 15% off in restaurant. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is a nicely remodeled and modernized hotel. Clean, modern up to date rooms, a wine happy hour, nice small pool area, and employees who were all pleasant and helpful...AND there is a restaurant on site on 17th floor with killer views. It is a gratuity free environment, which was refreshing. I think it would be hard to find a hotel this nice for the same money close to UCLA. I will stay here every time I'm in the area from now on. Great stay.

Somewhat disappointing experience

I was looking forward to staying at this hotel due to its uniqueness and hype, but the experience was fairly disappointing. The rooms are on the small side, but at first I did not let that deter me. I went to put water in the fridge to discover a previous guest's partially consumed items inside. We called housekeeping and someone did come remove the items and said they would have it cleaned. Later, the front desk called and asked if anyone ever cleaned the fridge and I said no. They insisted someone would be there right away to do so. No one ever came. I also received a text shortly after our arrival saying if we needed anything at all to shoot a text and they'd be happy to help ASAP. I did text with a question (unrelated to the fridge) and received one back saying they'd get back to me right away and confirming my last name and room #. I never heard back... So, I'd say that they promised a lot of customer service, but did not follow through. The walls are also fairly thin. We could hear our obviously intoxicated neighbor singing, slurring, and vomiting throughout the night and music in the neighborhood until about 3am. We considered asking for a room change due to the noisy neighbor, but after the lack of response we'd already gotten from the staff, we did not bother. I had to be at a medical procedure at UCLA early in the morning and departed early in the morning. I have since contacted them about a future stay for another appointment at UCLA and again the customer service was lack luster. We will take our business elsewhere.

Again we love

We just love it here. Just got home and didn't want to leave. Anytime we can stay here we will and this was our 4th time. The staff is so very nice! The rooms are so clean and very pretty. The bed is the most comfortable bed ever! In fact I'm now at home crossing my fingers searching for this bed so we can buy one at home!!! (If you are reading this Hotel Angeleno...where do I get one? Lol) I think I might have cried a little one evening when we came back to our room and there was a microwave waiting for us. Back youngest son has sensory and doesn't chew many foods but for some reason popcorn is his thing that he can chew! We brought a bunch of bags so he could make it in the room. I couldn't remember if microwaves were in the rooms. Much to his dismay they are not. He dragged me downstairs to ask if they had one that he could use. Unfortunately due to heath standard (totally makes sense!) we couldn't use theirs but could get one for $10.00 a night. I explained that mommy wasn't going to do that and He took it like a champ and I promised he could eat popcorn like crazy when we got back from vacation. We went out for dinner and got back and there was a microwave waiting for us. I had the happiest boy ever! It's these little things that they don't have to do but they do that make this hotel exceptional. We overheard people upset because one of the elevators wasn't working one day. Big deal...they were fixing it. Things like this are out of their control. You want them to keep open a elevator that might not be safe? I felt so bad listening to some of the employees getting yelled out for it.What people need to focus on is the cleanliness, the smiles and hospitality and the warm welcome you get when staying here!
