I stayed at Hotel Angeleno for my birthday in 2016. Every room has a private balcony except first floors. The room booked was not available, the front desk clerk upgraded my room the next day and had a surprise awaiting upon my return to the room. The initial room was more modern, chic décor versus the higher level floor was more traditional. Nontheless, both were of quality caliber. Each day, I took a walk, grab Starbucks and strolled through the nearby residential areas. Even though the hotel is situated right next to the freeway, the double paned windows really keep the room sound proof. Since I am a foodie, I had to try out these phenomenal French Toast (covered in Frosted Flakes) with fresh seasonal fruit and pure orange juice while looking out over the LA Skyline. The floor-to-ceiling windows afford unobstructed views of the city. I appreciate the celebratory champagne and upgrade view of serene Hills view. If you want to treat yourself to an affordable luxury stay in Los Angelos, Hotel Angeleno is a an absolute MUST!
We've stayed at Hotel Angeleno many times since our son started attending UCLA. It is very conveniently located just off the 405 and Sunset Boulevard, a three minute drive from campus. The rooms were recently renovated and offer plenty of room, comfortable accommodations, and lovely views. The restaurant at the top is excellent and the views of LA are terrific. There is parking and valet provided, often included in the room charge. And now, there is an Inner Circle membership club for frequent guests that offer many great benefits. There is also a swimming pool and gym.
I stayed here for a quick trip last year and liked it so much I decided to stay here again. All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I love the valet and they are extremely efficient. Rooms are a little small but the beds are so comfy and the decor is very well done. I guess I'm weird because I actually like the noise from the freeway. It's not like there's honking horns and engines revving, just a constant white noise type of sound. I did request a room on a higher floor after spending one night in my second room floor. I could literally watch people standing at the bus stop while taking a shower. Felt like I had to keep the shade down at all times. They were very accommodating with my request for a different room and had my luggage waiting in the new room by the time I returned from my outings. My only issue was that I was charged for that $5 bottle of water in my room, which I most definitely didn't take. Not a huge deal, but annoying nonetheless. I will most likely stay here again my next trip to Los Angeles.
Had a wonderful time at the Angeleno during my stay in Los Angeles. The location is a little bit far away and you definitely need a car or a cab to get to town center. However The Getty is within sight, and the hotel itself is a dream. Free wine happy hour in the lobby 5:30-6:30, clean and neat (although smallish) rooms and super comfortable beds!! The rooftop bar has great views of the city and there's free complimentary parking for guest's cars. No complaints, will definitely stay here again when I go back to LA.
We had booked a room as part of a package through priceline. I contacted the hotel to let them know we would be honeymooning in LA... 2 days before our wedding and flight I called again to make sure everything was in place for our arrival. Mr. and Mrs. (New last name) etc.... they would have champagne and fruit basket... the works... "don't worry about it" ... When we arrived they only had the info in my wife's maiden name and of course no champagne or fruit basket... We were so tired from our wedding and flight we couldn't find the strength to complain and figured it wouldn't do any good... We wanted to keep things positive. Anyway complimentary valet, nice views, great area in LA near Brentwood and Bel Aire... easy access to the freeway. Wish they had followed through with what they had offered.
