Aston Kaanapali Shores
- What's Included
We have been to Maui 4 times and each time we have stayed here. The rooms are perfect for a couple or a family, it's like renting an apartment or condo. Full kitchen and washer and dryer are a huge plus!! The pools are great and the views amazing. Great sunset views when you walk down towards the beach. Perfect location, close to Lahaina and Napili and it's across the street from Times Supermarket, and urgent care. My 3yr old daughter and I enjoyed the free lei making class and the free hula lessons!
We stayed here with our three kids for two weeks. It was so perfect for us to be able to go out to eat and our kids, who are old enough, to stay back and cook a meal in the room! And the Garden Pool was the best part. Gorgeous and fun! Hawaii is so magical. I'd go again in a heartbeat!
My wife and I decided 3 months ago to finally take a trip to the Hawaiian Islands and chose to stay in Maui for 10 days! Lots of build up prior to arriving yesterday. On approach the resort looked decent. After checking in, I had to call for bell hop as no one was at the desk. I waited for almost 15 minutes for someone to come help! Our 1 bedroom garden view (full kitchen & stackable washer/dryer) looked nice. After settling in, my wife was walking around the glass top coffee table and the corner had a chip breakage and cut her pretty good; thank goodness not bad enough for medical/stitches. I called front desk and asked for the manager who was already gone. I told the person what had happened and asked them to come remove the glass top/table, which they did. Guy at front desk called 20 minutes later and checked again if we needed medical assistance to which we declined. This all happened last night, our first night here. I am saddened the manager has not called to check in on my wife. This has put a negative taste in our mouth which dampens our view of this resort. I have been to Cancun and Playa Del Carmen Mexico and I have to say so far, I enjoyed them much more than Maui. I've always heard such beauty in Maui but so far not seeing it! Really hope the next week plus is much better or I doubt we will return :(
My wife and I just spent a week at Aston Ka'anapali Shores and we had a very relaxing time. Check in was smooth and we were given the room class we paid for. Within the first 24 hours of being there we received a notice informing us that our floor was going to be fumigated. We didn't want to stay in a room that had just been fumigated so we asked for a room change (expecting to just be moved to another room in the same class). The front desk was very helpful and considerate when we brought up our concerns about the fumigation and they actually placed us in a penthouse suite for the remainder of the week at no extra cost. The hotel grounds are very clean and well taken care of. The beach area connected to the hotel is very small at certain times of the day because of the tide but if you're willing to walk 5 minutes you can get to a much bigger beach with lots of shaded space. The hotel restaurant was so so. The service was great and the staff were very friendly but the food itself was not always great (always edible but just not great, especially for the price). There are several restaurants in the area to choose from though so it wasn't a big deal. Everything is expensive in Maui so expect to pay some crazy prices for food and day tours. We went to Maui to relax so we did not rent a car but it is generally recommended that you rent a car because there is a lot to do on the island and most of it involves a little travelling. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to West Maui to relax. The only warning I would give is that there is a lot of children and young families that stay here so if you want a kid free hotel, this may not be the place for you.
We stayed in apartment 404, which we booked through staywithaloha.comThe apartment was a bit dated in its décor, but very Hawaiian in character. It was a 2 bedroom apartment with fantastic views of the beach, although the waves were quite noisy at night. It had a small kitchen and the location was great as there was a large supermarket across the road of the resort. It had a washing machine and dryer, 2 bathrooms and was equipped with beach chairs, masks and snorkels, boogie boards etc. This was a great apartment for families. The resort itself had 2 great pools, a restaurant, coffee shop and a few gift shops and an ABC shop. It was a great place to stay with plenty of parking and only a short drive to Lahaina, the Maui outlets, Whalers Village etc.Overall a great place to stay.
