Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas
- What's Included
We recently visited Maui from Australia and stayed in a Studio Condo early January 2018. The Condo completely exceeded our expectations, being very spacious with a huge King Size bed and a full kitchen with up to the date appliances. The garden view was one of peace and tranquility, with the backdrop of a very private pool, yet only a short stroll to a beautiful beach. The helpfulness of the staff was exemplary making our stay very relaxing. We also got to meet some great locals “Hi Joe from Indiana” who went out of their way to make us feel very relaxed and comfortable.
Aloha! This was our second visit here. We stayed here over Christmas, with our adult children. We travelled with another family and their two teenagers. All of us enjoyed our holiday! We have been to many hotels around the island but kaanapali villas feel like a home away from home. Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and house keeping staff. A nice place to come back to after busy days exploring the island.Great location, beach is never over crowded or the pool area. Castaway is ok, good for a quick lunch, most staff was friendly some seem quite unhappy working there. We will be returning again!!
This was our second stay at this property, and it was fantastic as always. Although Kathy isn't here anymore (she always did a phenomenal job), Joe and the rest of the crew are still here providing the best service on Maui. Our last stay was in a 1 Bedroom Loft Suite in the Banyan Building (B-239), so staying in a traditional 1 Bedroom Suite in the Aloha Tower (A-503) was a bit more of what we are used to. The room (as the property) is a little bit older, but is entirely expected in Hawaii. In this case, it has aged to perfection. Where newer properties fail, the MKV succeeds. Everything here is still clean and well kept. And I mean this honestly when I say that this is probably one of the most relaxing and quiet places on earth--especially at night. Since it is not one of the massive new resorts along Kaanapali, there are less "party" people here, and more so just guests and families that just want to relax. Staring up at the stars along the beach walk at night is always one of my favorite memories. I also must add that Castaway Cafe is still serving great food daily! The complementary trolley to the Hyatt, Whalers Village mall, and other properties stops right outside the lobby. As always, it was an amazing stay--and I am eagerly awaiting my return to the MKV!
This was my third stay at MKV as I love the location and the quieter, low key nature of the resort. We stayed a week through Christmas and as our unit was not ready, we spent one night in another unit booked directly through MKV. This is why I say the units are "potentially" great. They are individually owned so there is a big variation in their condition. Last time they gave us a studio with dirty looking shag rug throughout. After the first night i asked for a change and they moved us to a much better spot. This time they put us in a dark unit with no blanket for the pullout bed. When we inquired they could only give us an extra couple sheets. They also threw away all of out things from the fridge after we moved, even though we came back for them a few hours later. These items were unopened and expensive! After that we were in #109 which we booked through VRBO. This was MUCH BETTER but there were a few minor issues (see below).First the GOOD: -location, location, location! Ground floor and quick access to everything. This resort has a wonderful beach and pools - quieter than the big neighboring resorts-nice lanai where we could sit out in mornings and at end of the day-spacious with 2 1/2 bathrooms which had nice showers etc-great well-equipped kitchen and fantastic barbecues closeby. recommend making meals here and saving some money!-unit came equipped with beach chairs, cooler and boogie board - nice touch! The not so good:-we are family of 5 and this unit does NOT sleep 6 - there are 2 beds and a single air mattress so our 3 adult "kids" were crammed in one bedroom-2 of them are over 6 feet tall!-not alot of storage space to put your clothes/suitcasesApart from other little things that's all that is worth mentioning for the "not so good". We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again!
This is the third time we have visited Maui and have always stayed at the Maui Kaanapalivillas The location is excellent beautiful grounds and great service.
