Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas
- What's Included
My daughters and I shared a beautiful, spacious condo with an ocean view on the 5th floor. It was a short 1-2 minute walk to the beach. I spoke with staff via phone as well as email several times preceding the trip. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, professional and accommodating. We were greeted every time we walked in or passed a staff person. Excellent service! We also had a rental car for our stay and that also was arranged by the hotel...extra service provided for guests in our package!
A large, sprawling complex. The villas are small private condos which the visitor can stay and not leave. Well kept with pool, beach, bbqs, walkways, restaurant, laundry, free am coffee in lobby, and plenty of parking. Nice patios or balconies. A large beach. A very quiet place at night, only activity is the Castaways café/bar which closes early to avoid noise in area. A great place to hang out. About a 15 minute drive to other restaurants/bars in the area, not within walking distance. A beautiful home base, but for those who want to explore, sightsee, party at night might get a little restless as it is a commitment to leave the area.
We loved this spacious condo with private patio/grassy area, large kitchen, huge windows. The resort is beautifully maintained and the buildings are very well constructed. The price was also more affordable than hotels in the busier section of Kaanapali beach. These condos are on the quieter side, just a bit north of Black Rock beach. It's a short walk to the Sheraton where there is access to Black Rock. It's a great spot for snorkling. You will see plenty of fish and probably sea turtles. If you are lucky, you will also be entertained by locals (and some tourists) who brave the cliffs and jump into the ocean below. The beach outside the Kaanapali villas is uncrowded with crystal clear water. The surf is calm. You will have views of Lanai and Molokai. We loved the beach walk that connects all the hotels. For most travelers, its possible to walk from end to end with a stop over at the Whaler's Village (shopping/restaurants). We also loved the pool which was also usually uncrowded. There are some little waterfalls that make it more interesting. This resort was definitely a change from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. You will love the 40 minute drive from the airport. The road is nestled between the mountains and the shore. It's safer than the road to Hana and there are fabulous views all the way. We also enjoyed visiting the town of Laihana to see the first and possibly largest Banyan tree in all of Hawaii. It shades and entire park and is truly magnificent. Don't miss it. Then walk down the street to have a Dole Pineapple soft serve. Music fans will want to visit Fleetwoods, owned by Mick Fleetwood. While in the are, learn about the history of sugar and pineapple plantations.
Stayed here for 4 nights. It's an hours drive from the airport.I was in room 423 which is a room in the main hotel. It is very noisy, lots of traffic noise, lots of airconditoner motor noise( I'm presuming that's what it Is) I wore ear plugs every night here and could still hear outside noise. If I am correct there is no room service facilities. I travel solo and don't always want to eat in a restaurant on my own so I like the option of having room service.I did eat at the Castaway restaurant/ cafe. The meal was nice.My room was beautiful. Very big. Very comfortable bed. There is a microwave and bar fridge in the room but no mini bar is available. The shower didn't have great water pressure. It was ok but not brilliant. The staff were friendly.Maui accommodation is very expensive and this place appears to be one of the more reasonably priced places here. Australian dollars $360 a night. It's a good place but the outside noise was terrible. Hence 3 stars instead of 4.
The 1 bedroom, condo was just beautiful. Furnishings were up to date, counters were granite and bathroom was gorgeous. Our patio was on the first level with views of huge flowering shrubs and you were just steps away from the beach.
